This summer I researched vacuum cleaners and decided to purchase a Miele. My beloved Electrolux canister need repair although the motor was still strong. I decided to buy local as opposed to slightly better deals online. Although I now regret opting to purchase local from Kirkwood for the following reasons. #1 No discount or additional free accessories to match online offers. #2 I made three trips to the store, no home delivery. #3 I was lead to believe they would have a replacement hose for my Electrolux so that I could have it as a backup. #4 The last but most important reason to not purchase from Kirkwood is trust. The sales person specifically said he would register the vacuum with Miele. Four months later I followed up with Miele to confirm registration and to my disappointment my registration was not on file. Miele's customer service was great and the vacuum is great too. read more

Shady sales tactics. Even worse customer service! Please read this entire review before deciding to do business with them. In December I went to the Tri-county store in to test out a highly-rated Miele upright cleaner, only to have the salesperson try to sell me a different brand - here's how he did it (beware!). After informing him that I wanted an easy to push cleaner, he adjusted both the Miele and the brand he was trying to sell me so that I could try them out. The comparison seemed to show his cleaner was much easier to push - but then I looked at the 'adjustments' that he made. The Miele was set for maximum suction, and his brand was on the lightest setting! Really?? Needless to say, I decided not to purchase from them and purchased the Miele on Amazon instead. Unfortunately the Miele lost suction and needed to be taken in for repairs, which according to the Miele site, Kirkwood's is an authorized repair center. Today I took the Miele and a Dyson in for repairs. When asked, the salesperson had no idea if they even serviced Miele, so he called another location. While on the phone he asked if I purchased it from them and I told him I purchased it from Amazon. He then hung up and stated that he needed to call the owner. After a quick conversation with the owner, he informed me in a very condescending tone that the owner said, "Send it back to Amazon and see if they can fix it. We only service what we sell." Obviously this must be a very sore subject for the owner because Kirkwood's prices are much higher than Amazon on all of the models they sell - but refusing to do service (which I'm sure they are 100% reimbursed by the manufacturer for doing) is just bad business. Needless to say, I did not leave my out of warranty Dyson to be repaired by them either. read more

I went to the store on E. Kemper Road because my Royal sweeper was not working well. I had great personal help, not like wandering thru Walmart hoping to find a employee that even acts like they want to help me. I brought my sweeper in for a tuneup. The salesperson, Phillip Russo, was very courteous and knowledgeable. He told me exactly what the tuneup would cover. I told him I had one minor problem with the sweeper and he told me it was a simple fix. I picked the sweeper up later in the day and it looked and ran like a brand new sweeper despite the fact that it's 20 years old! Even though I live in Northern Kentucky, I'll drive to the Tri-County area to use this shop again! Great job, Phillip!
