Original Review: I regret to say that I cannot recommend Speech Solutions to anyone seeking speech therapy services. My experience with this company has been nothing short of frustrating, and I have a long trail of emails--spanning nearly an entire year--documenting unresolved issues with various members of their staff. The ongoing lack of communication, the constant runaround, and the overall incompetence I've encountered highlight significant ethical and operational shortcomings at Speech Solutions. While I don't have the time or space here to list everything, suffice it to say that the challenges I've faced with this business have been extensive and exhausting. The only positive aspect of our experience was the brief interaction with a few speech therapists who worked with my son. Unfortunately, each of these therapists (and others) abruptly resigned, which speaks to the high turnover rate at this company. The inconsistency in care due to this turnover is concerning on its own, but the real issues stem from the lack of professionalism across the rest of the organization. From Tara in administration to Carolinda/"Trini" (CEO), Sharon (CFO), and the entire billing department, the service we've received has been disappointing, to say the least. We've been given the runaround for far too long. While I would love to walk away from this situation, we're still waiting on an updated invoice from our son's initial evaluation in 2023, which was billed incorrectly, and a refund that they are inexplicably withholding. At this point, I feel trapped and can only hope that future clients do not have to endure the same level of frustration that we have. To conclude, I'd like to highlight the ethical concerns around staff posting feedback about their own workplace. This creates a conflict of interest and opens the door to potential manipulation of reviews. I've noticed at least two five-star reviews that seem to come from familiar faces, Tara being one of them who has posted to both location Yelp pages and Google--just something to keep in mind. Through her expertise, patience, encouragement, and genuine care for our son, she completely changed his life--and, in turn, changed ours. She didn't just provide speech therapy; she helped give our son the confidence and ability to communicate clearly and be understood. Miss Margie provided convenient services at our home and around our busy schedule. She was always punctual, arrived incredibly prepared with tailored lessens for exactly what our son needed as he progressed, and she managed their time together perfectly. My child's pediatrician said she heard of this place and should check it out for my baby. I called…read morethem and they accepted my baby's insurance. They were sent a referral from the doctor and called me within days regarding the referral. I spoke to Tara who said she would be emailing me forms to fill out and once they were all done then they would schedule my baby. While filling out the forms there was so many consent forms, one I came across wanted my signature to allow them to use my baby's pictures, videos, and any case inform for education and research purposes and that's fine for some people but we also have patient rights and I knew that I didn't have to consent to that. So I skipped that one. Then another consent form I read was a release to hold harmless. And I've seen consents releasing liability before but the verbiage in this specific consent form made me uncomfortable. It says "release and agree to indemnify, protect and hold harmless, Speech Solutions; LLC and its therapists and volunteers, and all private persons or organizations providing services for Speech Solutions; LLC from any claim or liability whatsoever, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, property damage, court costs, attorney fees and interest, however caused, including the negligence of Speech Solutions; LLC, as a result of the clients participation in activities." Release ANY claim or liability WHATSOEVER, including BUT NOT LIMITED to, PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE,....HOWEVER CAUSED, including the NEGLIGENCE of SS LLC. That is absurd. I understand liability on a company but the way it's stated is insane. I would NEVER release harm of anyone causing harm or death or injury to my baby however caused by the negligence of their company or any company. I wasn't able to submit the forms because I didn't sign the two consents. I called SS and spoke to Tara and explained my concerns, she said it a few times over that unfortunately they can't schedule my baby because I won't sign the two consent forms. I asked to speak to the owner of the company to discuss my concerns and Tara said she would give the owner Carolinda my name and number. 10 minutes later I got a call from Tara and she said she spoke to the owner and that Carolinda, the owner said the picture/video consent is optional but the release of harm is required and they can't schedule my baby unless I sign it. Tara said Carolinda said the point of that consent is because they have a lot of disabled kids that go there and if one of them was running and fell then they don't want to be liable. I get that part but that scenario does not explain the verbiage of that consent form. Tara even tried to downplay my concerns by saying "everyone has those kinds of consents, those are the regular ones". No! That release of harm is NOT normal. Not even when I take my kids to fun factory or the carnival do they make me sign something like that and they could get hurt at those places way more than they could at speech therapy. And it says a lot when the owner couldn't even pick up the phone to address my concerns but sends Tara to call me with some generic response. PLEASE read everything before you sign especially regarding your children. BEWARE of this place. Something is really wrong.

Review of baby classes:…read more What a welcoming, fun space, especially as a first time parent to an infant! Each staff member has been so warm and friendly, even when babies inevitably do their pterodactyl shrieks or start to get hungry/fussy towards the end of class. As someone who doesn't have family members or friends with babies, it was a great way to meet other parents and babies in around the same stage as my baby. Even though the babies in my class were in the 3-6 month range, it was so reassuring to see the diverse range of development and personalities, especially as the weeks went on. Every baby truly is a unique individual growing at their own pace! The location is in a building across the Ala Moana area Don Quijote. Parking isn't validated but it isn't too bad. People tend to zoom around the corners in the structure though and the turns are pretty tight so be extra careful when walking to/from your car, especially with baby! There is a bathroom outside of the office but on the same floor. When you get to the office, you take off your shoes and park your stroller by the door (sometimes get small kine traffic jam when class is done lol). You bring your own play mat or towel for baby to lay/play on during class (they have spares if you forget). The floor is somewhat padded. Each class starts off with introductions (sometimes there may be a new family who are making up a class from a different session). If you're late or if baby needs to eat (whether nursing or bottle) or take a break during class, you're completely supported! It's so wonderful that there's no pressure at all and everyone is so supportive. Again, as a first time mom, I feel like even leaving the house is anxiety-inducing and there can be so much judgement in other spaces. Sometimes I feel like the classes were just as helpful for me as they were for my baby in regards to helping my confidence as a new parent ‍ I should also note that it's not awkward if you're a single parent or if your partner has to work. Some parents showed up with just their baby. Some parents brought a friend or their own parent. All kinds of families are embraced! Sometimes we get to take a material home from class. For example, a month or so ago, we got to take home a shiny crinkly paper from class, which has since become one of my baby's favorite toys. He loves to watch it because it's shiny, listen to it because it's crinkly, and he squishes it with his fingers, arms, legs, and toes. He's since ripped it in two and I tried to buy what I thought was the same thing off Amazon but it's not as good as the one from TLD lol. They have lots of great ideas for DIY activities and tools, emphasizing that you don't need to buy expensive, "trendy" items to get great results for sensory play and motor skills! Even if you aren't able to attend a class, I still highly recommend following them on social media. They post such great tips and ideas, and they also occasionally host community events like family yoga, mom walks, and dad walks.
