Review of baby classes: What a welcoming, fun space, especially as a first time parent to an infant! Each staff member has been so warm and friendly, even when babies inevitably do their pterodactyl shrieks or start to get hungry/fussy towards the end of class. As someone who doesn't have family members or friends with babies, it was a great way to meet other parents and babies in around the same stage as my baby. Even though the babies in my class were in the 3-6 month range, it was so reassuring to see the diverse range of development and personalities, especially as the weeks went on. Every baby truly is a unique individual growing at their own pace! The location is in a building across the Ala Moana area Don Quijote. Parking isn't validated but it isn't too bad. People tend to zoom around the corners in the structure though and the turns are pretty tight so be extra careful when walking to/from your car, especially with baby! There is a bathroom outside of the office but on the same floor. When you get to the office, you take off your shoes and park your stroller by the door (sometimes get small kine traffic jam when class is done lol). You bring your own play mat or towel for baby to lay/play on during class (they have spares if you forget). The floor is somewhat padded. Each class starts off with introductions (sometimes there may be a new family who are making up a class from a different session). If you're late or if baby needs to eat (whether nursing or bottle) or take a break during class, you're completely supported! It's so wonderful that there's no pressure at all and everyone is so supportive. Again, as a first time mom, I feel like even leaving the house is anxiety-inducing and there can be so much judgement in other spaces. Sometimes I feel like the classes were just as helpful for me as they were for my baby in regards to helping my confidence as a new parent ‍ I should also note that it's not awkward if you're a single parent or if your partner has to work. Some parents showed up with just their baby. Some parents brought a friend or their own parent. All kinds of families are embraced! Sometimes we get to take a material home from class. For example, a month or so ago, we got to take home a shiny crinkly paper from class, which has since become one of my baby's favorite toys. He loves to watch it because it's shiny, listen to it because it's crinkly, and he squishes it with his fingers, arms, legs, and toes. He's since ripped it in two and I tried to buy what I thought was the same thing off Amazon but it's not as good as the one from TLD lol. They have lots of great ideas for DIY activities and tools, emphasizing that you don't need to buy expensive, "trendy" items to get great results for sensory play and motor skills! Even if you aren't able to attend a class, I still highly recommend following them on social media. They post such great tips and ideas, and they also occasionally host community events like family yoga, mom walks, and dad walks. We were recommended to reach to Three Little Ducks by our pediatrician as my daughter had a bad case of Torticollis. As a parent hearing your child has any issue is a bit disheartening, but getting the referral here has truly been a blessing. Dr. Suma and Dr. Shannon worked with us to explain what was going on with my daughter, provided therapy, and also educated us on things we could do at home to help her. As a first time parent it was also great to have a professional go over things like developmental milestones, and even give recommendations on age appropriate toys, or recommended chairs etc. Being this is our first child i think we had a tendency to overthink even the tiniest thing so those small reassurances helped a lot. Not to mention Dr. Suma also seems to be extremely well networked with other providers. Need a sleep therapist? - She knows someone. Want to start swim lessons? - She knows someone. Want to look into getting a helmet for your kid? - She knows someone. We were really able to get a ton of good advice from her. Anyway, my daughter has since finished her therapy and is doing well (It worked!), so we graduated from that aspect of Three Little Ducks, but we did also go to the developmental class others have mentioned (3-6 months). I could go on about that as well, but this review is getting a bit long and actions speak louder than words, so I'll just say we have already signed up for the 6-12 month class. read more

Husband and I really appreciated the guidance of Dr Suma and Dr Shannon here at three little ducks! I found the Spruce app so convenient as you can text their channel to schedule, reschedule appts and ask questions. Our little guy had torticollis and plagiocephaly shortly after birth and as a first time mom I was totally freaked out and full of anxiety. I appreciated our son's pediatrician referring us to Three Little Ducks as he told us he brought his own 2yo daughter to Dr Suma for classes as well. We brought our son for the first time at 3 weeks old, and he just graduated from his PT sessions at 7 months old finally! We saw Dr Suma for the first several sessions and she was full of evidence-based guidance and at-home tips. We then saw Dr Shannon for most of the rest of our little guys' PT sessions and she was always cuddly, sweet and affirming with him, bringing out the best toys and always being mindful of his limits (fussy, tired, etc) trying to bounce him back into a better mood. My husband and I ended up looking forward to our son's PT sessions so we could get some time to stretch and look around for ideas on toys, while our son got his PT "playtime" with Dr Shannon! I attended the Development Class (6 to 12 months) at Three Little Ducks twice with my daughter--once when she was around 9 months old, and again at 11 months. It was a truly wonderful experience for both of us. As a first-time mom, I often found myself unsure of what to do. Each class gave me helpful, practical guidance on how to interact with my baby in everyday situations. For example, in the Movement class, I learned to teach her how to climb down safely by leading with her feet. After practicing this at home, she was soon able to get down from the sofa all by herself. In the Communication class, I learned that reading a book isn't just about reading the words--it's also about encouraging babies to turn the pages themselves. After trying this at home, my daughter became absolutely fascinated with turning the pages! It was also comforting to see my child grow alongside other babies around the same age. Watching her develop and realizing, "She's growing just fine!" gave me a real sense of relief. If you're a new parent and unsure how to engage with your baby, I highly recommend this class. Suma and her team of physical therapists are hands down the best team to work with for your little babies! Suma was the second physical therapist we had seen for my son's severe torticolis. All providers prior to Suma had told me my son's C-shape body would "self correct" or it's "not that bad". Suma saw him and immediately told me the truth that one side of his body was extremely tight and the other was weak. She got right to work with him (he was 5 months old at the time about). She also deeply educated me on his exercises and why he was experiencing tortious and really what it was. Education as a parent was the most amazing part. She and her staff were all so pleasant to work with, appointments were easy to make. I truly appreciate the honestly, clarity, and respect Suma and her staff have for all their patients. We have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Suma to address torticollis in one of our twin babies. Dr. Suma is so warm and gentle that both babies instantly connected with her, and her knowledge and advice has been invaluable to us as new parents. We love this pediatric physical therapy company and are so glad and even feel lucky to have found Miss Suma and her team! We see Miss Kaleigh weekly for my son's session and couldn't be happier. We live on the north shore and our therapist meets us at grandmas house in Wahiawā which is so much more convenient then driving to town as pediatric pt is very limited. Like I wrote, feeling very lucky and grateful to have found 3 little ducks! Miss Kaleigh is always on time, in a great mood and most important my kiddo loves and looks forward to seeing her. Dr.Kaleigh is amazing! We recently switched from Dr.Suma to Dr.Kaleigh for PT for our son! The transition was seamless and they accommodated the switch every step of the way! Dr. Kaleigh is so great with the intense boy energy my son brings. She is gentle but firm with him, which helps to regulate him during the session. Her patience with him helps their bond to grow each session. Every week he looks forward to doing his "exercises". I initially contacted Dr. Suma after finding her through Yelp and Instagram for my gassy 1 month old. After doing some research, I was worried that my little one showed early signs of torticollis (he mainly turned his head to one side and did this weird slump thing with his body). After doing an initial consultation, Dr. Suma confirmed that baby did show signs of torticollis. In just a few (maybe 4-5 sessions?) hour-long, weekly sessions, my baby's range of motion was SO much better. Dr. Suma played with my baby, and showed me different stretches and things to do with him. Gave me some tips on how he can sleep better and how to help relieve some of the gas issues he was having. She came to our home and brought all the toys for baby to use during her sessions. She was always very gentle with him, and listened to his ques of when he got fussy or tired, which I truly appreciated. While her expenses aren't covered under insurance just yet, and payment is all out of pocket--I'm so thankful that I addressed the matter sooner rather than later. Baby is much happier, is more flexible and actually enjoys his play time. I would highly recommend her for any parent looking for different ways to help their baby. My baby had really bad gas issues, which lead to a lot of sleep issues. And overall just seemed like a very uncomfortable baby. With chiropractor work and Dr. Suma, my little one sleeps a lot better, can turn his head from side to side with ease, and just overall seems much happier. read more

Man writing a review for Three Little Ducks is hard because where do I even begin! Our little one had a case of Torticolis (stiffness of the neck) that hindered his ability to turn his head to one side. My wife being the proactive woman she is found Three Little Ducks which was actually a godsend. Dr. Suma has theeee best patience with children and is so loving. Her calm nature helps your child feel comfortable during physical therapy. She is full of constant smiles but don't let that smile fool you she gets right down to business and tackles the problem from the very beginning. When we first started PT we had to pay out of pocket but DONT YOU WORRY she accepts all types of medical insurance which is quite helpful so that she can help out other children that could use her service. Her gentle but straightforward PT helped our little dude fix his stiffness. Depending on the severity of your PT she came weekly and always made sure to teach stretches that you can do at home to maintain positive results till her next appointment. Let's be real, Dr. Suma is the best out there but as a parent learn to put in the work too! Your due diligence to help your child develop is your utmost goal and Dr. Suma was really helpful in providing us the key lessons/goals we needed to maintain our son's development with his neck as well as other parts that could be affected if we didn't contact her. She also offers classes that not only help your child develop mentally, emotionally, and physically but also lets your child make friends with other little ones! I'm so happy we invested in 3LD because our son is way happier and my goodness can't stop crawling all over the darn place. We love Dr. Suma and we know you will too!
