As a first time mom, I really didn't know anything about how babies sleep. My husband and I had no clue on how to get her to take naps or sleep through the night. It was okay for a while because I was on maternity leave for about five and a half months but once I went back to work, reality really sunk in.
It literally was like being a zombie going to work because my baby would be waking up two or three times a night to feed. There were times when I felt myself falling asleep at the wheel when driving home. It was bad. But I just kept thinking, maybe this is how it's supposed to be and that I just have to tough it out. I asked for advice from everyone at work. Man, I never got so many people's opinion about getting baby to sleep at night. Some of them were pretty ludicrous like put her face her toward the east or something like that. Others were give her formula. I've tried it all and all haven't worked.
Until I met Katie at an expo at the Blaisdell. She gave me her card and explained her program. I told my husband and he was all about it. I think he felt sorry for me, the walking zombie. I got in touch with her and she came for a home consultation.
She came and checked out her room and told us what needed to adjusted. She told us the optimal temperature and type of clothing that was preferred. At the time she was sleeping in our room but we wanted to transition her to her room. Then she met with us to go over the plan and how to sleep train Kylie.
Within a couple of days using her sleep method and plan, Kylie was a much better sleeper at night. And when she was a better sleeper at night it transitioned over to her naps. She slowly got into a nap routine during the day. It was wonderful. Of course there are always little things that may make her suddenly awake (teething, growth spurt, etc) but if you stick to the sleep plan, you'll benefit tremendously.
During the summer, which was about two months being on the program, my boss looks at me and says, "wow you look a lot better now." I was like, "Gee thanks." He says,"No, you just looked so exhausted a few months ago." I was like yeah thanks to Katie at Baby Sleep Well. I can sleep through the whole night without my baby waking up.
And you would be amazed at how much she can sleep. Everyone I talk to is super amazed that she can sleep so much at night. She sleeps from 6:30 pm to about 6:15 am everyday. It's wonderful because I can have my own time now with my husband.
Katie has not only helped my baby sleep better, she has also helped my marriage, and me with sleep issues.
