Scheduling was difficult from the start. They took days to get back to me every time. I booked specifically for myofunctional therapy for my 5YO son, which he had been receiving on the mainland before we moved here. I showed up to our Honolulu appointment and was told it wasn't confirmed, while I had their own confirmation email. The person who handles booking was on vacation. It felt like a bad start. The $520 evaluation felt like the quickest and least thorough my son has ever had, by a long shot. He's had two evaluations before, so I had something to compare it to. The practitioner was kind, but she didn't appear familiar with the history I had uploaded and she seemed unsure of herself. She watched him eat one food and drink one thing, went through very few cards, and gave me little explanation. I was handed a roughly 15-page booklet to photograph because they were out of copies, without an explanation of what to do with it. At the end, she recommended I take him to an ENT and airway dentist - (my son had seen an ENT for adenoid surgery 4 months ago which we had talked about at the beginning of the appt) when asked why ENT she said just to check if he has any airway blockages, and I said "well we just did that in june and he had surgery? you think he needs to go back?" her answer was, "oh, i guess not." I was told I'd have the evaluation report within a couple of business days. It's now been over two weeks and I still don't have it. When I followed up, I was told it was still with her supervisor. The most disappointing part was only learning at the appointment that their only certified myofunctional therapist is on the Big Island. I was told the therapists here have some training but aren't certified, and the certified option would be telehealth. That isn't the in-person care I was looking for for my young son. Had I known that upfront, I never would have booked.
