I can't speak for the care of the dentists here, but I've been getting multiple calls asking to confirm an appointment for someone who is obviously not me. I don't even get my teeth cleaned here. Every time I tell them they have the wrong number, they apologize, but nothing is done to make sure this doesn't happen again. It's getting really irritating, especially since on the first wrong call, wouldn't they try a different method of communication to reach the patient and not mine, which is obviously a dead end? Couldn't they take a note that this cell number doesn't belong to the patient and just not call it? Get it together y'all. read more

I just got new braces in May. I have the bottom 6 teeth crooked and a couple the top teeth. They used to be straight. No major work to do. but it is affordable price. I will only have the braces for 9 months = 9 payments. I will make a payment every time. I get an adjustment. My insurance did pay part of the balance. I will keep you posted. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Central Plaza Dental and their staff! Everyone is really friendly and caring with their patients! The staff actually make an effort to get to know you. My initial consultation with Dr. Do went very well, so well that I ended up committing to Central Dental that day! I was pretty nervous at first and pretty adamant that I would explore my options. I came in stressed with a ton of questions, but Dr. Do helped ease me my tension by answering all of my questions with clarity and confidence. He even helped me figure out a payment plan! I never felt rushed by the office staff or Dr. Do throughout my consultation process. He even went over with me exactly where my previous orthodontist went wrong and how he will be able to correct it, which is something he did not have to do. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Do and his staff to anyone looking for a consultation or even a new orthodontist! The the past couple weeks, my older silver fillings that I got when I was a child was causing me pain. I decided to visit Central Dental Group to get it checked out. The staff was extremely friendly to me, and did not hesitate to answer any questions that I had. I was in the waiting room for only about 5 minutes - until the doctor called me in for x-rays. I can tell that they are extremely professional in their line of work and take care of their patients well. I was told that I had to redo my silver fillings, as they were sculpted down over the years to shape that was puncturing my gums. The procedure was not only painless, but professional and relatively quick as well. I was in and out of the office within a total of 1.5 hours (30 minutes of me filling out paperwork). The best part- my fillings are now white and not noticeable compared to my silver ones! read more

Dr. Do and his entire team are just amazing. I recently moved to El Monte due to moving to new cities for college and I did a lot of research before settling to Central Dental Group as my new dentist. I came in for a check-up where they took my x-rays to see how my teeth are doing. Dr. Do was very honest in telling me I needed some fillings done. Afterwards, Dr. Do's assistant did my teeth cleaning. Given that I have been a mega lazy couch potato in seeing my dentist (it's been a few years since my last check-up), the assistant was really gentle in cleaning my teeth. A few weeks since my check-up, I came in to get my fillings done by Dr. Do. Their process is so streamlined that everything went smoothly. I got in for my appointment, they immediately sat me down (I didn't have to wait at all), then got started on the procedure. Dr. Do was so fast and accurate that I honestly didn't feel anything! I was so nervous about getting my fillings done because it's been so long since I've been to the dentist, but Dr. Do made me comfortable and I honestly think it was the best visit I've ever had in my life. Also, I gotta give a shout out to Dr. Do's assistants. They were so nice in booking my next appointment, getting me ready for the procedure, and basically accommodating for everything I needed. I went in for a much dreaded root canal only to find that it was no where near the pain level I expected or psyched myself out about! The dentist was gentle and I can't thank him enough for being efficient in curing my painful toothache. My only regret is not coming in sooner, I'm not sure why the previous post has negative things to say because I've always had a great experience there with their staff. Fast and friendly. I went here about 2 years ago for a check up. i was told that i needed 3 root canals along with having 2 cavities. It all came out to $3,500. i paid in cash with no discount. i asked and the doctor said no discount. During my time here, when i would feel pain i would ask for more lidocaine , the doctor's response was "you're so tiny, you don't need so much!" SERIOUSLY??! um, excuse me if i'm paying $3,500 for my teeth to be done by you, you should be giving me lidocaine as a thank you come again for your next appointment gift. I honestly think that central dental does not care about their patients. All they care about is making money, while ripping their patients off. i will never be coming back to this place ever again. i am really disappointed about how greedy Dr. Do and central dental group are. shame on you guys! thank goodness i found a better place, in a better location where the doctor treats me like a human being. did i mention that central dental group did a pretty bad job on my root canal? Dr. Do used screws for my root canal which is fine, but it's the "old fashion" way of doing root canals. in other words the cheapest route for the dentist to nickel and dime me. Lately I have been having a pain in my back right tooth. I went. Into Central Dental Group in order to check it out. When I first arrived the staff was super friendly and caring. They helped me fill out my paperwork and worked with my insurance in order to get the best coverage. Next was the dental procedure. Dr. Ky Do was very friendly and kind to me. He looked at my tooth through an x ray and found that I had a few cavities. I was to have the cavities drilled and filled on the same day. The procedure was not painless but it was smooth. Dr. Ky Do made sure that I was okay during the procedure. The numbing cream applied in before the shot made it less painful. The drilling hurt a little bit but the shot before ensured that it would hurt less. Overall a great dental experience minus the pain. read more

My daughters been to a few dentists and this place seems to be her favorite. I think they recently got massage chairs in the waiting room. Pop a dollar in the chair and relax while waiting. Haha. Terrible experience. I've been coming here since a youth and they've done all the dental work for me and my family. I had one bad experience where I was diagnosed with 2 cracked teeth of course on teeth that were previously worked on by them and told I was going to need crowns or an extraction. Finally after all of these years I started to get a suspicion of malpractice and decided to go to another dentistry with high ratings in San Gabriel. They told me that one of my teeth were chipped and the gum was bruised. I was simply fixed up and on my way for less than $50!!! After discussing the entire situation with my dentist and asking for his honest opinion on CDG's previous work, he advised me that there are probably other steps he would of taken before suggesting drilling and extracting teeth on a clients mouth. **All of this being said with out negativity to the old dentist.** I love where I go now and I can only imagine how much damage has been done that can and will never be undone. I really don't know why I've been coming here, probably because I live in this city, but today marked the last strike. If you SERIOUSLY want to wait FOREVER, and be judged based on your insurance plan, you should avoid this place. I purposely set my appointment at 9:30am, so I would not have to wait, and waste my time. I WAS WRONG. I was third on the waitlist, but an older senior citizen got called in before I did. I SERIOUSLY sat there until 11:00am until I finally got a teeth cleaning which only took 5 minutes. COME ON, this was a TUESDAY. Screw you, just because I'm a student on break does not mean I have countless hours to waste. This is not the first time of my lengthy visits. I have a job offer and when I start a new dental plan, I'm for sure going to avoid this place. I've been here a few times and my wait time on the chair is always longer than my visit. They'll have me wait almost an hour on the chair waiting for the dentist to come by and then to clean my teeth in ten minutes. It really is annoying. I love that they do the job quick, but the wait time is just ridiculous. They rather have people occupying seats in the back then in the waiting room. If you're not going to help a patient right away, why bother calling them in? Also the lady who does the x-rays is horrible! She kept shoving the little things into my mouth and pretty much choking me! Twice i had to stop her and spit it out cause she was just hurting me and I felt like I was choking. I've never had someone taking me x-ray be so rough with me. She was just plain horrible and didn't even apologize. I was so pissed off and I even told her it hurts but she would just keep trying to shove it in. Who does that?! The wait time does not make up for their "fast" service. I had to have 2 wisdom teeth taken out and they were both taken care of Dr. Do. I initially had 3, the first one was taken out by a different dentist and it was a really bad experience. I went to Dr. Do and there weren't any issues. He is very experienced and really thorough. He explained everything so well! He is also a very funny guy and makes sure your comfortable! I go to him for my usual teeth cleaning now and it's always very quick and thorough. I also don't have to wait so long in the waiting room like I did with my previous dentists. In addition, his staff is really nice as well, The receptionist, I think her name is Sandy is always very helpful! They prioritize patient comfort and concerns, and go the extra mile to explain every step they take during the appointment. They're transparent, they're communicative, and they let you make informed decisions regarding any procedures they might need you to do. They even give you advice on how to better take care of your teeth -- which shouldn't come as a surprise, but given how mediocre my previous dental visits were, it was definitely a breath of minty fresh air. I was recommended to Central Dental Group from a friend of mine hearing that they take really good care of you. The front desk was able to answer all my questions and the staff seemed all very promising. At first I was very nervous about getting my teeth cleaned because all my previous dentists went too fast and made it hurt a little. I told Dr. Do to perform it slower and he gladly obliged. In fact, getting my teeth cleaned felt so natural I didn't feel any pain at all. Next up was filling up the cavities and the procedure went very smooth. The procedure didn't take long and it didn't hurt at all. I would really recommend Dr. Do for Central Dentist Group because Dr. Do really listens to your problems and anything you want to do differently, Dr. Do will the best to listen to your request. Sorry to say that this place has VERY poor customer service. After being taken in, they had us sit there for over 45 minutes and then started working on someone else. When I went to ask why they took us in and had us wait for so long and then took someone else, they gave me an attitude. They were so rude they would not even look at me as I was speaking to them. Ten minutes later they came into the room and cleaned my daughters teeth in 5 minutes. Needless to say I was not a happy camper. The dentist himself was not very friendly either. NEVER EVER go to this dental office again! Doctor Do works there for money, NOT patient care, service and satisfaction. The office judges a patient based on insurance and out of pocket costs the patients is willing to pay. 1st time in the office, had appointment but still waited 45 minute and they did X ray and Doctor checked teeth in 2 minutes. He recommended 4 fillings for 4 cavities, deep cleaning which requires local anesthesia, 1 root canal and crown. (ATTENTION: later in the day I asked another dentist's recommendation and he checked teeth and said I only have 1 cavity! A regular and thorough cleaning should do the job!)!!!!!!!!!! The front clerk lady checked the insurance for us. The insurance only covers fillings and regular cleaning. The deep cleaning is $ 320, root canal and crown is $ 1370. Decided to do what the insurance covers first which is regular teeth cleaning and check up. We will consider the recommendations. Dr. Do never come to talk to us since he last checked teeth. After awhile, the doctor told his dental assistant to tell us he cannot do it today because he is out of the office for his lunch (which is a lie because I can hear him talking). I told the dental assistant that I just saw the Dr. Do 5 minutes ago in the hallway and she said he left because we took too long to decide what procedure we want. SO IT WAS OUR FAULT? The staff tried to blame on us! EXCUSE ME, it took us less than 10 minute to decide what we want after the clerk told us the prices! However, To that inconsiderate and unprofessional Doctor, that's a very long time! Why don't they consider and feel bad for patients waiting in the lobby for 45 minutes because that should be a REALLY LONG TIME based on their opinion! The assistant told us to make another appointment because we cannot do the procedures in the afternoon because the office is really busy in the afternoon and we have to make an appointment and come back another day. After an hour and 30 minutes waiting, nothing was done. We knew the Doctor is in the office and he doesn't want to do the procedure because we didn't choose a procedure that we have to pay out of pocket. Basically, he is not making ENOUGH benefits out of us. NEVER had this horrible experience with any dentists I met before, He is the WORST. I am a nurse, I know how the medical system works! You don't turn a patient down just because of insurance and their autonomy to choose what they want to do. I asked for a copy of X Ray which the office lady refused and said we need to charge you more for that. I didn't even bother to ask the price. This place is just about money! No conscience for patients! Before we leave, I questioned the office clerk why we have to come back another day and the clerk said you never get check up, X Ray and cleaning done on the same day, you always have to come back. However, none of these info were given to us ahead of the time. And I can hear Dr. Do telling the clerk behind our back as if we were deaf that "they MUST do a deep cleaning first" in order to do anything else and he will not do a regular cleaning unless we do deep cleaning and pay $320 out of pocket first. I called the insurance and switched a doctor immediately after I walked out of that office. HORRIBLE DENTIST, horrible staff members and horrible experience. Stay away from this office! This place is utterly ridiculous. I only came here because it was convenient for my parents when I was younger, but instead of receiving preventive services, I have more problems now because my teeth problems were not taken care of when I was younger. Central Dental Group makes any child and adult hate dentist appointments. The person who cleaned my teeth when I was younger make my gums BLEED. For many years after, I refused to attend dental services despite tooth pain. Despite my hatred for this place, my mother insists making appointments there for my younger sibling. The receptionist was incredibly rude on the phone - offering appointments six months after requesting an appointment (which we refused to do) and called a day later to schedule an appointment for next week. I'm very skeptical about their dental office policies and their personnel because they informed us that they couldn't book us an appointment before a certain date because we had an appointment in January, which was false. My brother hasn't been to the dentist for over a year. Regardless, we were willing to give them a chance, which we should've never have done. We attended the appointment, and they forced us to wait over an hour because they triple-booked patients. Not only that, the dental office deteriorated and did not maintain upkeep. They took 3 minutes to do the cleaning - obviously a terrible job, my brother mentioned he would've did a better job with his toothbrush and dental floss. They then mentioned that my brother's baby molars were not replaced by permanent molars and the molars might eventually loosen and need to be replaced by implants (I think that's what they were trying to say - they did a terrible job at explaining). They weren't even sure about the molars and didn't answer all my questions. They didn't even have a legitimate dentist there to answer any questions I had or offer another appointment to fix possible problems. It was so frustrating. I asked for a copy of my brother's dental x-rays and was refused after 30 minutes of waiting. If I knew that it was going to take them 30 minutes to give me an answer, I would've taken a picture with my phone earlier, so I wouldn't have to waste anymore time at such a pathetic dental office. Please note that patients are entitled to a copy of their x-rays if requested, and this dental office refused our request. I do not recommend this dental office and sincerely hope that they go out of business for the benefit of their patients. read more

I came to this place a year ago, I have insurance with Delta Dental Group. I called in to asked if my insurance is covered. I gave them my name, social security for them to verify with my insurance. They told me to come in because my insurance is taken here. I had my teeth cleaned. Walked out without paying anything (no co-pay!!!). A year later. I got a STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT By CENTRAL DENTAL GROUP of the amount due, $375!!!!! I received numerous calls from the dental place about the amount OWED! About a year ago, my insurance company sent $210 to me. I didn't know why, I also thought that it was taken out of my heath saving account. I cashed it thinking that the money was mine. A year later, CENTRAL DENTAL GROUP want that check of $210 along with the $165 owe to them! Totalled $375!! A person without insurance can get treatment like I have for $30 CASH!!! While I have to pay $375 (WHEN I HAVE INSURANCE!!!) . My co-pay runs around $10-20 elsewhere. It's not like I did not called in to verify my social security numbers along with my insurance information. NOW I AM GETTTING CONSTANTS LETTERS AND CALLS FROM COLLECTIONS. WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS IS THIS? I LIKE TO KNOW HOW THEY GET THEIR LICENSE? I WILL REPORT THIS TO THE DENTAL BOARD. I WILL ASK THE BOARD TO INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER. read more
