There are also picnic tables and corn hole games. However, during our visit, the selection was very sparse. There were oranges, 1/4 basket of tomatoes, 4 cucumbers, and a handful of avocados. There were also a few packages of dried fruits and nuts. The guy working there didn't speak English, but he was really nice and friendly. He gave us some oranges to try and they were sweet and delicious. The tomatoes we bought from there were delicious as well. It had that homegrown taste and was very flavorful.

Their stand is in the back lot area towards the center near the Ghandi statue. Currently, the citrus season is winding down (mandarins and tangerines) while yellow peaches just became available and other stone fruits will follow shortly. Apricots were available when I walked by yesterday. My go-to here are the kishu mandarins when in season but we are already past that season. They also sell both types of persimmons, fuyu (crunchy and crisp) and hachiya (soft after ripening). This stand is manned by multiple people, sometimes a gal, and sometimes a guy. The guy has been here recent weeks and they do accept credit cards for payment.

The August day we came toodling down a dusty road looking for them, they were busy at their packing shed filling humongous orders to ship off to SF and places beyond. This happens twice a week, on Sundays and Thursdays, something the Blossom Trail brochure did not exactly explain. Oblivious to their strict schedule, we found ourselves staring at a tightly closed, little farm store which is located right next to their home and a very unhappy dog that insisted we should not be there and should not get out of the car. Hey, I've watched Cesar Milan, Dog Whisperer. I got out of the car, stood firm, showed no fear, then wisely remembered I wasn't Cesar and slowly retreated to my open car door and hastily jumped in. Dog=1, Wendy=0. What that dog didn't know was, while Mr. B was too chicken to get out of the car, he was still unrelenting and hell bent on getting some great fruit. So he called their listed phone number. I have to say, Fran, wife, was most gracious and very accommodating. She even jumped into her car and drove us over to their packing shed where she introduced us to her hard working son, Brian, who dropped everything to help us. We left the dog in our dust. They were currently processing several delicious varieties: OHenry peaches, Snow King white peach, Bella Royale peacotum (an interesting peach apricot plum mix), Flavor Grenade plum, and the Elephant Heart Plum (my personal favorite, a most delicious turn-of-the-century plum developed by Luther Burbank). While still not quite ripe, they had delicious aroma that convinced us we were getting something special. We came away with about $20 worth of beautiful, unique fruit. Their products can be found at many Farmer's Markets in the SF Bay area. Make sure you look for the Blossom Bluff Orchards label. For corn you say? Only a glass of water is less labor intensive/costly! Add bacon for two dollars more and PG&E starts looking like a bargain! lol The Laotian Food truck was a good value and the menu item I ate was tasty. And there was a ton of food left to take home.... Try that with a nine dollar bowl of corn with mayo clocking in at 6-7 rounded tablespoons of RIP oFF! Needless to say, very few people were at that truck holding their ankles. I've visited a few of the farmers' markets in Fresno, and this is my favorite. I've also been to River Park and Vineyard (Shaw & Blackstone). I drove by Tower (Olive & Van Ness) one day and there were literally two vendors. I still want to try Perrin & Champlain and Kaiser (Fresno btwen Herndon & Alluvial). Anyway, the downtown market is open multiple days (Tues, Thurs, Sat 2-7), is very cheap, and has this awesome guy who grows and sells watermelon just so he can afford to eat it all the time. He's super friendly and is watermelon is awesome. The other vendors are cool too. There's a huge variety of fruits, an okay selection of vegetables, and some nuts and spices. And cheap ass avocados (around 25 cents each). The fruit is usually pretty fresh and ripe. It's pretty low-key and down-to-earth; most vendors don't have signs announcing their farm name like they do in Washington, and some don't have signs for prices, so it makes you approach them and talk to them, which is good. The only problem for me is that there's basically no organic food. The other farmers' markets have a little bit of organic produce, but there's not that much compared to Washington and it's expensive. And this market is hot because it's dusty and there's not much shade. At the downtown market, I've seen one or two vendors only seem to speak only Spanish so it's incentive to work on my Spanish :) This market, and most of the others, are year round! Sweet.

Not all of the vegetables are locally grown (some from Mexico and other places long ways away), so buy at own discretion. Upon entering, there is a cool wind that flows from the top to keep the inside air conditioned for customers. The customer service is friendly and there are plenty of choices of seeds and various nuts: peanuts walnuts, almonds, pistachios etc. in addition to these nuts and sunflower seeds, there are dried and boxed fruit to order. These are all fresh from the farmlands close by. The trucks bring boxes of fruits and various nuts daily and are open daily. Although it is difficult to get into the place due to minor traffic and having a tiny sign on the side road, it is one of those gems to remember. The parking lot is covered by trees for some shade and there are workers making a lot of noise moving crates of supplies in and out of the factory and into the store. Pictures will be shown of what supplies are in depending on the season. There is no guarantee your favorite is in due to what is grown throughout the seasons. The boxer crate of fruits are the go to. I got myself some plums for 14$ many times before, but since I went here out of the season, they didn't have any in stock at the time. The service was great, the prices are generous and that air conditioning was the ticket to five stars! The boxes hold approximately 80-100 of whatever you get. They have plums, peaches, apricots, pears, apples and oranges. The prices vary but expect 14-15$ per box. The plums are slightly more expensive than the other fruits due to a lower supply of them. In very rare occasions, there are also persimmons which could be close to 20 dollars. Lastly, there are bathrooms inside and outside. The outside ones are the bushes. There was no WiFi from what I found and the information about opening and closing times are accurate where listed.
