Steer clear of this business. They recently changed hands and computer systems and somewhere in the process instead of billing me for services they sent my invoice to a collection agency. When I called they said they said it didn't show that I owed anything but they were not able to access the old system that most likely had that info. I'm livid. The last few visits I had with them for cleaning and x-rays were done with temps and always a new dentist. No consistency. If you value little you time and your money, then this is the place to go. I scheduled an appt for a semi-annual cleaning and examination. Notice the "and". It customary for a dentist to complete the visit immediately after the hygienist is finished to perform an oral examination, discuss the results and possible next steps. That's not the way they do it. After, the hygienist completed her work, the receptionist walked an told me that there seems to be no dentist around and I would have to pay for this visit, come back for the exam part and pay for another office visit. The same scheduling 'oops' occurred when two of my immediate relatives went. What's happening? By separating the two operations, they are maximizing their revenue opportunity at your cost...in terms of your time and your money. Don't get suckered...again, the oops comes after your time in the chair, not before...so don't make an appt thinking this can't happen to you. read more

This was the weirdest dental experience I have had. I felt like all the Dr. Steen did was try to sell me services I did not need. Having been to a different dentist about 8 months prior, I was told I had no cavities. Dr. Steen insisted I had 6 that all needed immediate action. I was also told I should consider braces - I had braces for 3 years in my teenage years and find it hard to believe my teeth are that messed up. What really got me was at the end of my new patient appointment a woman, a "closer", came and took me to her office where she sat me down and gave me a print out of what services I needed and what the insurance would cover. The difference was around $700, and I cannot believe these services were all necessary. He may be a good dentist, but it was too salesmen like for me. I just want my teeth cleaned. read more

I dumped my last dentist because he talked to me like I was about five years old. As an adult, I take offense. As a physician, I take extra offense. So my friend recommended Dr. Steen, citing a centrally located gorgeous office, modern facilities, and really hot office staff. I don't particularly care about the last part, but good to know. From my first phone call to the check-out at the end of my visit, the office staff was endlessly patient and took the time to thoroughly explain everything. The facilities are very impressive, meticulously clean and spacious. Dr. Steen is very pleasant and was the happy medium between strong and silent and way too chatty. His exam was amazingly thorough, as were his comments throughout regarding what he saw. He didn't try to hard sell me any unnecessary procedures and didn't try to scare me into flossing with threats of periodontal disease, receding gums, or rotting teeth. The staff never looked at me funny when I arrived red-faced and huffing and puffing from hauling ass from the hospital to get to my appointment on time, which is always appreciated. The cherry on top is their on-line service for patients that lets you view your appointment times and sign up to get reminders by text message, which is perfect for me. My only complaint was that I had to make two separate appointments for the exam and the cleaning; however, once I realized how much time Dr. Steen spent during the examination, I understand! (Plus, we were working around a time crunch and my tight schedule.) read more

I love the office staff here! There's one woman, Liz, who's incredibly comforting and understanding, never cold or short with me. Dr. Steen is also a very gentle, patient man. I pretty much freaked out about getting all my work done and he listened to and addressed all of my fun little paranoias with an eerily calm manner. After having my work done, I've called about 18 times about different things that I think are going wrong, and everyone has been so incredibly understanding that it's hard for me not to say "I love my dentist office". And that's weird. Almost minus a star for not providing me with the cool irrigator thingy that everyone else gets when they have their wisdom teeth pulled. read more

I have been going to Dr. Steen and seeing Pam (Hygienist) for 5+ years. When we first moved here I tried a couple of other places but haven't strayed from their compassionate practice since. They are the only practice that has been able to get my problems under control with more advanced personalized treatments that are easy for me to do. Dr. Steen is gentle and not at all pushy in helping define a treatment plan that works for you. I suffered with periodontal disease and gum problems that were not being resolved with regular cleanings, better brushing and flossing habits and the dreaded scrapping under the gums. When Pam recommended a minimally invasive treatment called perio protect I wasn't sure it would work but after 1 month of using them I am dedicated to this program. It is now 2 years and as long as I use them 2 - 3 times a day for 10 minutes my gums stay healthy ! The trays are filled with gel that tastes like peppermint. This treatment reduces the bacterial and the best part is your teeth get whiter! I have very sensitive teeth and this doesn't bother me at all as long as I use sensitive toothpaste I'm fine. I have gone from 2,3,4 and 5 and at times a 6 to 2,3 and only a couple of 4's in 1 month. If you keep it up you will have consistent results and it is only 10 minutes a few times a day. When I'm using it regularly I have only 2 and 3's which is better than anything I have had in decades. read more

Never thought I would ever like a dental office. I get my normal cleanings, and got my wisdom teeth taken out here. Have you ever been so chicken shit scared about something that you put it off for years? Yea, that would be those wisdom teeth. But they hook it up with drugs (legally of course) and take those bad boys right out. The only downsides are 1. I had to ask for gauze when I left my appointment, I assumed that they would just give it to you, given you just got your wisdom teeth taken out. 2. We had to reschedule something for my husband for the new year but after we figure out his on call schedule, so we said we would have to call them back when we found out....well the hygienist would NOT STOP CALLING. Dr. Steen has been our family dentist for years (20+). He is all the good things the other reviewers have said he is, and his office staff is top notch. We have never had him steer us wrong. He always presents his recommendations in the clearest manner so as to help us make the best decisions we can about what we need (or don't need). He and his staff are always patient to answer all the ins and outs of questions I may have about why any of us might need this procedure or that. And in the end, I don't feel like a second class citizen if I opt NOT to go with a recommended procedure. Very respectful! Recently our 23 y.o. son went in for a badly chipped front tooth. Dr. Steen could have insisted it be capped, period, but instead he presented a number of options, one of which was to simply seal the tooth. He explained that this was temporary (lasting for a number of months) and our son could opt to have his tooth formally "restored" at another time or to continue to seal it periodically. This was the best route for our son since it was the most cost effective (and he thought the chipped tooth made him look a little more edgy, so no big deal! LOL!). In contrast, I called a dentist nearer where he lives, and the receptionist started in right away with "he'll need this, and he'll need that"... sight unseen! She's not the dentist... where does she get off doing that? When I questioned her about a couple of the things she was saying he would need, I was met with a response that was downright insulting (as though I never should have had the gall to question in the first place). I have never been treated like that at Dr. Steen's office. Like I said, they have all been very respectful and patient. Bottom line: I would HIGHLY recommend him. They just don't come any more competent and conscientious than Dr, Steen and his staff. read more

I have been with Dr Steen and staff for over 5 years now and have nothing but great things to say. My first visit was on April 17th 2012. The service is assembled once you walk in the door, actually prior to wlaking in. I was running late, call the office to let them know, and was responded to in courtious manner. The staff have excellent customer service, with different personalities that matched up the their positions. The DDS ( Mr. Steen) was very clear on my needs and opitions. Last but not least, I spoke to the financial arranger for insurance coverage and opitions were given to me that would save money on my part ans still benefit with the best correction for my dental needs. Literally had the worst customer service - NO follow up. 3 emails over a 7 to 10 days period and not one was return or answer. No one call me or email me. And it was just for appointment I just got some new dentures and one of the tooth's broke in half eating crackers. And this was going to be second repair for the same problem and same tooth. I was on trip to Georgia and Susan (my better half) was going to just drop off dentures for repair. I am not going to lie I been going to Center Care Dental since 2013 to 2017. My appointments were amazing , but now I have to recommend a different dental office because this place at least with me this time offer NO costumer service follow up. I've been going to Dr Steen for over 20 years, and I recommend him to everyone I know. He and his staff provide solid advice that has proven to work. He keeps current on dental practices, such as new fillers, Invisalign braces, and other processes to ensure good results and dental health. I've always been given choices, with what to expect from each choice. I haven't found Dr Steen to suggest anything unnecessary, only options if you wish them. The dental hygienists are top notch too, as is the office staff. It's a state-of-the-art facility, and I appreciate it. Do not go here. They are disorganized, dishonest, and pricey. I went there twice for an partial and both times they did not send the mold in and told me that it was the lab. Finally they told me the truth and said someone had forgotten to send it in. One of their employees had misplaced it. Really? Come on. I waited 6 weeks and they had already charged my credit card . Each time I went in there they were not prepared for me andhad tore- read my chart while I sat in the dental chair . I had to tell them while I was there and my history. Additionally they called my place of employment and revealed my medical history to another employee. This violated the .HIPPA law. They have a beautiful office which is probably to cover up their inadequacies. They also have a huge employee turn over so-I wonder why. read more

Initially, I liked Dr. Steen, and I still like him. He is a nice guy. The staff is nice too. But my husband, son and I have all gone here for dental care and they continually try to sell us dental services we don't want or need. The friend who referred me said they never try to sell her services, but I'm wondering whether her dental insurance isn't as comprehensive as ours. I recently got "fired" because I wanted to schedule a cleaning and six-month routine checkup and they wanted to pull wisdom teeth and perform an expensive "root planing" procedure. If I wasn't going to have those services performed, they didn't want me as a patient. The dentist I went to instead said I did not need a root planing (the largest "pocket" I had was a 4) and my wisdom teeth were fine. read more

First let me say that I was referred by a co-worker and it has turned out to be a blessing. For years I wanted to get a project done with my teeth and had been to several dentists only to find out that it was so costly and unattainable. When I got referred, my co-worker told me that they will work with my insurance company to get my project done. Well, it's been a goal of mine for some time and I am coming to the home stretch. The ladies in the office are ALL amazing! They always greet you with a smile and make you feel so comfortable and welcomed. They ladies have even gone so far as to get my phone number and call or text me after hours to make sure I was feeling okay and expressed genuine concern of my well-being. The billing personal is amazing and she has worked miracles with my insurance company to get things paid for without breaking my budget. All of the medical assistants are knowledgeable and friendly. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Steen. This guy is the real deal. He is a smart man. He is a fore thinker and looks at a scenario and determines what will be the best outcome for longevity. I appreciate it. He is patient and understanding and has never made me feel like I was just person waiting to be seen. His methods are smart and current with today's progression in dental cosmetics. I have been so fortunate to have this dental office fall in my lap. My last dentist was a nightmare, but that is another review. I am looking forward to the finished result. My Wife and I have been going to Dr. Steen for several years. As not the first dentist I have dealt with, I expected to be bombarded with "up-sells" or "we recommend" from the staff and the dentist. This was true for Dr. Steen's office as well- but....after several routine cleanings(covered under my insurance) I was told that I needed a deep root cleaning, but it was presented as this would be optional, and "recommended." I asked what it would cost me out of pocket, and they never could tell me, so I brushed it off as they did not want to sell it to me that badly, a good thing I thought. I call in six months to schedule a routine cleaning, and am now told that "I have to" have this procedure done, and that they cannot perform the routine maintenance on me until this is done. Frustrated, I again asked to be notified of what this is going to cost, out of pocket, before commitment. I received a call back in a day, and was given two things: the cost of the procedure(billable to insurance) and the portion I would be responsible for at time of service. I knew I should of walked, but it wasn't that bad, so I went for it and had the deep root cleaning performed. I wrote a check for my portion, and went on my way. Then the bill began to show up in the mail. An additional $42+ that is being charged to me after insurance payment was posted. I called to ask what was going on, reminded them that we agreed, up front, what the costs would be, only to be told it was only an estimate, and not an actual, solid price. Now I am done. Oddly enough, the next day my wife has a scheduled "routine" appointment with theses people, so I knew I would get her feel for the dentist after what she has seen me fight with. She gets home and says she paid a $35.00 fee for some new laser cleaning procedure they now perform. She was informed of the cost, while they were hooking up the equipment to perform the cleaning. After, they told her most insurances "may" not cover this new technique. So, she got hosed by these scam artist, up-selling thieves, and I am still stuck trying to fight for my $42.00 that they are now threatening collections on. Not to mention, my wife mentioned the hygienist we both like has left the company- Imagine that. So- we are both now done! Do not give these people the chance to take your money- go somewhere else!!! read more
