After your operation (that pretty much feels like a teeth cleaning), you get this warm towel to wipe your mouth off with that smells like fresh squeezed lemons! I actually decided on this office due to a positive Yelp review from Meg K. and was happy to learn my insurance was accepted as well. The consultation was very informative and I didn't feel pressured into doing more than needed for the grafting, so I decided to move forward in getting my surgery done by Dr. Tandy. Last Friday I had my first of two rounds of grafting done and it went better than I anticipated. The staff here is just great. Very professional, understanding, fun, and helpful. Dr. Tandy, Christie, and Sadia are all amazing and I am actually excited to see them soon for my next round. Reasons why this office is wonderful: 1. You get this awesome complimentary Shea Butter Lip Balm which appears to be custom made by Dr. Tandy. 2. The Relaxation Room is so cool! There is an awesome massage chair, tranquil music, and even blankets to keep you relaxed prior to surgery. 3. The staff is so much fun! While still completely professional, I can't stop laughing while I am visiting due to all of their jokes :) 4. Dr. Tandy and her team take their time in explaining each detail and really take into consideration all medical history prior to scheduling surgery to make sure nothing conflicts. They called before each session to make sure that we were all on the same page. I love their thoroughness! 5. They are very understanding in rescheduling. I called 96 hours in advance, but when I spoke to the front desk, I was met with rude behavior. The receptionist asked, "So, what are you going to do, pay or not?" and questioned why I couldn't make the appointment. Now, as I'm writing this review, someone from the office called me, clearly upset that I left negative feedback. She was just as rude as the front desk staff. She called me on my cell, but I couldn't answer because I was at work. Then, she proceeded to call my workplace and harass me, attempting to bribe me into taking down my reviews. When I explained that I left messages on Thursday and Friday, she said those days "don't count," and I was left frustrated by the confusing and unclear policies. It's troubling that they seem to feel it's acceptable to treat customers poorly but will go to great lengths to harass them if they leave an honest review. If I had called the day of my appointment, I would've understood a cancellation fee, but I gave plenty of notice. The way I've been treated, including being harassed at work, is completely unacceptable. Please be cautious when considering this place. Don't let poor treatment slide just because of a polished online presence.

Dear Potential Patients: Beware, It wasn't work that was…read moredone well left me with a major period pocket. The area collects food, and hurts 7/24 daily. They have no solution except to go back to the endodontist that I referred from. It seems like it was a circle of referring which could maybe have been solved with just an endo to do the work, or pulling the tooth, vs an expensive procedure which was done poorly. It should not have been done at all unless it could provide 100 pain relief. I did have one extra cleaning with him which was done well but it won't take care of the problem that Dr. Nelson behind. It's very expensive to go around and get a second or third opinion on some imperfect work and asking if they could redo this work. I can't recommend coming here since the results were leaving me in pain for the rest of my life having to deal with cleaning an area that is still open having to take pain medication the rest of my life for work that wasn't done well. Maybe the next patient will get their work done correctly but mine was not. My dr. was Dr. Nelson, so other doctors in the practice might do better work but I would stay away from this place specifically Dr. Nelson. I cannot recommend him due to His poor work that left me in ongoing pain, that he still charged me full Price for.

I went with a different place at first because it was closer to where we were living. Well, that turned out to be a mistake. I ended up having a bad experience there and finally switched to S&L. Dr. Ngo and his team fixed everything the other dentist had messed up. Right away I knew my wife had been right all along. I've been going to S&L for four years now and they really are the best dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Ngo has removed all my old metal fillings and replaced them with modern ones, plus he's done a couple of crowns for me. Everything looks and feels great. My wife has also been extremely happy with all the work he's done for her too. I'm almost 55 and I've seen a bunch of top-rated, highly recommended dentists over the years, both here in the US and a couple in Mexico. Nothing else comes close. One thing I have to mention is how good Dr. Ngo is with people who hate dental visits or get nervous about pain. His work is excellent, but it's the way he takes care of you that makes the biggest difference. For example, the way he does Novocaine shots is unbelievable. You barely feel it at all. Every dentist out there should learn his technique. With all that said, I do think the front office experience could be better. If the customer service up front matched Dr. David's clearly caring vibe, it would be 100% perfect. If you're looking for a truly professional dentist who gives five-star care and service, this is the place. Dr. David Ngo at S&L is the only one I would recommend without any hesitation.

They seem very knowledgable and seem to know what they're doing when it comes to dentistry, but my concerns are more in the administration side of things. I changed jobs earlier this year and got new insurance with a common major insurance provider, and I needed to get a procedure done. I asked them what the procedure would cost and they gave me a quote, which was already expensive, and I paid that at the time of service. However, when I came in for a routine cleaning 6 months later, they said the insurance "didn't pay as much as they thought" and stuck me with MORE THAN DOUBLE their original quote. I looked into the insurance claim and called the insurance company myself, and the insurance company paid exactly what was according to their billing schedule. There were no surprises. I think the office knew (or should have known, because they're the professionals and this is what they do) that this would happen, and they dishonestly gave me a lower quote, did the service, and then stuck me with the even more expensive bill (but to their credit, they did give me a lower price than what they billed to insurance, but it was still VERY expensive that I was not prepared for). Additionally, I distinctly recall the procedure treated four teeth, but then on the bill and insurance claim, they say they treated six. Unfortunately, I don't really know how to argue this, especially because it happened so long ago. I suspect they didn't contact me about this issue earlier for this exact reason. Again, dishonest. Another concern with this dentist is that it's unprofessional that they use Zelle to get around credit/debit card transaction fees. Every merchant has to deal with card transaction fees, they shouldn't be up-charging that cost and they shouldn't be using Zelle, which is supposed to just be a peer-to-peer payment network. Lastly, as much as I love dogs, I don't think it's hygienic that they keep a dog in their office. In all, I started off loving this dentist, and very disappointed that they turned out to be this unprofessional and dishonest. I'm sad I'll have to go elsewhere from now on.

2 years have gone by since my first gum graft and I was told I needed to do the lower molars too. I…read morewas hesitant to do the procedure again, mainly because of the two week soft food diet. However, the pain was becoming pretty consistent so I decided to go forward. I still really like Dr. Darnell, she is very good. The techs this time around have been pretty disappointing. I went in after 2 weeks for my post-op appointment to have the stitches removed. I told them at that time I was having pain in one tooth. She dismissed my concern as normal. 4 days later the pain was unbearable. Called the next day and they got me right in; diagnosis was food impacted between the teeth and a missed stitch. Today, 3 weeks after the procedure, they cleaned my teeth. Hours later, my mouth feels like it went 12 rounds. The gums hurt, my tongue has several bruises where she let the suction tube touch it for too long. They want to see me on a regular basis for cleanings, but I don't really want to come out feeling like this again.
