I understand that if I can't make an appointment, I should call to cancel. I followed the procedure and left messages on both Thursday and Friday to cancel my Monday appointment. I called 96 hours in advance, but when I spoke to the front desk, I was met with rude behavior. The receptionist asked, "So, what are you going to do, pay or not?" and questioned why I couldn't make the appointment. Now, as I'm writing this review, someone from the office called me, clearly upset that I left negative feedback. She was just as rude as the front desk staff. She called me on my cell, but I couldn't answer because I was at work. Then, she proceeded to call my workplace and harass me, attempting to bribe me into taking down my reviews. When I explained that I left messages on Thursday and Friday, she said those days "don't count," and I was left frustrated by the confusing and unclear policies. It's troubling that they seem to feel it's acceptable to treat customers poorly but will go to great lengths to harass them if they leave an honest review. If I had called the day of my appointment, I would've understood a cancellation fee, but I gave plenty of notice. The way I've been treated, including being harassed at work, is completely unacceptable. Please be cautious when considering this place. Don't let poor treatment slide just because of a polished online presence. read more

They tell you a price and what "they think" insurance will pay, then just bill you after the procedure. Their practice is ethically wrong.

Ridiculous pricing. Staff is not knowledgeable about insurance. Paid thousands of dollars in good faith for help but only to learn later, after a couple of procedures, they couldnt help me. I am now seeing a skilled and wonderful staff that I can trust. Although I have to take a loan and basically pay all over again. Staff are stand offish and only concerned with collecting your money and i felt treatef as if i was gonna stiff them. The dental assistants though were great. read more

This place was horrible. I visited them Nov-Dec 2023. I have a huge fear of the dentist and had to have a tooth scaling and was supposed to have 2 teeth pulled and an implant put in. This place was recommended because they have a outsude service that offers anesthesia. After my inittial visit I scheduled to have all procedures done at once. The anesthesia service called me and they were rude and told me to stop taking my blood pressure medications with no explaination. They proceeded to tell me if I didn't it could cause death and that's it. I called Chandler Implants back and told them I do not trust this service and we would need to find another option. The head Dr at first then refused to now do my procedure due to my fear and again was extremely rude. They then offered to try the scaling with additional novacaine and in 4 sessions to see if that worked. I was able to tolorate it. After this I still had one tooth that needed to be pulled immediately as it was severly infected. I came in to have it pulled and someone came in to draw my blood, I asked why the blood draw and she could not give me an explaination. Finally the Dr gave her something to tell me. I was THOUSANDS of dollars in at this point. I was over the rudeness and decided this was it for me and I would go elsewhere to have the other tooth pulled and implant done. A YEAR later they are trying to come after me for another almost $300 which is INSANE! I am refusing to pay. My gums on one side of my mouth were lasered back way too far for the scaling which is now requiring more work to fix. The staff was more interested in filming promotional videos every time I walked rather then putting in proper time and care with their patients. Absolutely horrible experience, especially for someone who avoided the dentist for years due to fear. The definately did NOT help with that. read more

Dr. Johnston recently gave me an implant to replace a broken root canal. He and his staff were exceptionally professional and efficient. The surgery went perfectly, and recovery was far easier than I expected. I highly recommend Dr. Johnston! read more

Dr. Peterson did a "gum graft" for me and also for my son several years ago and I have been having my teeth cleaned here for several years since then. As a dental hygienist I am very discerning about who provides preventive dental care and treatment for me and my family. The doctors and hygienists at Chandler Implants and Periodontics hold themselves to the highest standard of care and deliver it with professionalism and integrity. I recently had gum graft surgery performed by Dr. Johnston and it went better better than I was expecting. I was putting the surgery off for months and when the day finally came, I could not believe how quick and painless it was. I went in for a post op about a week later and just had another one today. The staff are polite and professional and Dr. Schlossman is a kind man who explained everything in terms I could understand. He put me immediately at ease and let me know I had no major issues. Amazing staff and extremely competent professionals. Dr Johnston was very skillful as well as communicative. I have had my rounds with periodontists before and Dr Johnson was seriously a next level professional. I have absolutely dreaded the idea of getting gum grafts - I have been ignoring dentists recommendations for years. I finally went and they were great! Very professional, no wait ever for an appointment (despite the fact that there was clearly other patients there), everyone was friendly - and now that it's a few weeks post-gum graft, my gums look great. My husband had an implant procedure done on 09/30/14 by Dr Hudson S Johnston, DMD. The procedure went fine. His billing staff made a big error. Our insurance covered the procedure at 80% with prior authorization. His office staff called our insurance and received the benefits for this procedure. His office did NOT ask if it needed prior authorization. Now we are stuck with a $1,500.00 bill. I have worked in medical billing for 15 years and the two questions you always ask the insurance is, it it a covered benefit and does it require prior authorization. His billing staff is very incompetent. read more

I have the highest of kudos to Dr. Johnston and the staff!!! I have been coming to this office for almost three years, and they are as wonderful now as they were the first time I walked through the door. I am a pretty anxious patient when it comes to the dentist and the staff goes out of their to make me feel comfortable. The front desk always greets me by name and smiles, the techs go above and beyond by changing the rinse water to warm, and Dr Johnston, through a few extensive procedures, has done wonders to the self Inflicted damage I have done and the bad genetics I inherited. I went to Dr. Schlossman based on my dentist's recommendation regarding my receding gum line. I scheduled appointment for consultation and evaluation for a possible treatment plan. I was quite surprised when during my first visit I received final treatment cost spread sheet. My relatively minor procedure would have cost me a fortune despite having excellent dental insurance plan. The most annoying part thought was the fact that office receptionist who also apparently handles treatment cost plans charged 80 bucks from my insurance as a consultation fee. She did not mention a word regarding consultation fee during the whole appointment scheduling/first visit until the fee was already deducted from my insurance and was listed in treatment plan spread sheet. I find it rude and very unprofessional. How do you expect gaining trust from your new patients if you fail to disclose as simple thing as consultation fee without asking patient's permission first/ mentioning about fee in advance?! I also felt being pressed to make my decision and start the whole treatment right away the minute I was handled treatment plan/cost. Needless to say that I walked away annoyed by the whole experience and will never go back there. read more
