I went to Hatcher Dental one time in early 2023 for a cleaning and JUST received a bill. I called and asked why the delay, they told me it was my insurance's fault and that they filed a claim in 2023... I can see (and verified with my insurance) that they just filed the claim now... in 2025. It seems I'm not the only person with this experience from other reviews. The woman on the phone was patient and helpful... assuming this is not her fault, but they are definitely not an organized operation. Quality of care - I did not go back because the hygienist seemed as though I was his first ever patient and repeatedly poked me. The dentist, after seeing me for the first time, for 5 minutes, told me I needed two crowns and quoted over $2k (this figure may be wrong - this was two years ago). This also seemed like a red flag to me so I did not return. I've since been to another dentist that does not agree with this assessment. Highly suggest getting a second opinion if quoted for a pricey service, but I'd just pass on this dentist altogether. read more

This is a terrible place to go to. They try to charge you $55 for a missed appointment that was scheduled a year ago to start off with. And I've been going there for years, but the original dentist I went to isn't there anymore so I think I'm gonna have to start going to seeing him in Scottsdale. I referred my brother no referral Credit they give you a $50 Amazon card. Not $50 off your bill. They called my brother. He was three minutes away from his appointment and they called him and canceled his appointment. He should probably charge them the 50 some dollars right? They are very slow with their work, they have a change of office staff very frequently it seems. I would definitely try a different dentist. read more

I am very disappointed with Hatcher Denal Stuio, the care was good however the book keeping is bad. My insurance and care credit double payed. They told me I had a $300 credit. I tried to go back and use my credit , they claim they couldn't find evidence of a credit. They stole $300 dollars from me, I trusted them to honor their word. Dr. Abadi is a true professional and an absolute pleasure to work with: he explains everything thoroughly while still maintaining rapport, has a very approachable demeanor, and he speaks beautiful Spanish as well!! Dr. Bruce Stein had his staff schedule an appointment with me and when I came in he tried to do some shenanigans (really weird hocus pocus stuff!!!) trying to tell me that my tooth was loose (was a lie) where he placed several instruments in my mouth and his crook assistant held up a mirror to my face to try and sell me on the fact that I had a loose tooth while he moved the instruments to-and-fro around my tooth telling me my tooth was loose while he was trying to create an optical illusion...HIGHLY UNETHICAL!!!! I then informed him that while I was trying to move my tooth with my own fingers that the tooth was not moving and in fact was not loose. WOW REALLY IS THAT BLACK MAGIC OR ARE YOU A WITCH DOCTOR?! VERY STRANGE PRACTICE DR. BRUCE STEIN???? His staff had me come in under the pretense that they could do the work on my bridge that day. After the Dr. Consulted with me he informed me that the project would be several thousand dollars more than originally quoted over the phone which I have a phone recording of. Then his staff informs me after that, that they can't do the procedure that day. We all know what this is about. Dr. Bruce Stein is running an unethical and crooked practice! Good job Dr. Stein. I just had an appointment and they were amazing. All the staff are attentive. They take your wants into account. I went in and mentioned another tooth bothered me before they gave me my new crown. I was worried I'd have to favor both sides of my mouth due to the addition of a temporary crown. They listened and kept looking until they found a hard to notice issue. Though hard to find it is bad enough to favor it over the temporary crown. I recommend this dentist office. It was recommended to me by a dear friend and I'm so happy I went. I don't leave reviews really but I felt during every part of my visit that they deserved at least a good review. read more

This is a wonderful professional dental office. The personnel is is impressive, they are knowledgeable, and explain step by step what is happening at each and every visit. The last five years they have handled cavities, cleanings, cracked tooth, infection of the gum and also extractions. The anesthesia has been painless, and no residual discomfort. I highly recommend them as they are centrally located, convenient, and fortunately the have accepted the last three of my contracted network dental coverages. I give them a 5 out of 5. read more

I write to revise my earlier rating upward. My dentist got in touch with me and offered--in a limited way--to address my concerns. But that's not why I'm adjusting the rating. I'm doing so, because my earlier rating was unjust. You see, I've come belatedly to understand that this isn't about Hatcher Dental, nor even about the dental profession in particular. It's not about teeth; it's about choice. My dentist doesn't feel comfortable with x-rays less frequent than 18 months. And I don't feel comfortable with x-rays more often than 2 years. So who wins? Neither. This one goes to the cartel. A cartel is a state (i.e. government) backed monopoly. It's an ostensibly private association that nonetheless operates with the force of law. My dentist should have every right to decide the terms under which he renders his services and to refuse to offer (what he considers to be) substandard care. And who could object to a set of guidelines that codify the best practices of the profession? Isn't ADA membership an assurance of quality care? Well let's put it this way: A dentist can adhere to the "guidelines" or they can have their license yanked. That's what the helpful folks at the Hatcher desk were trying to say. I suppose they could have been more honest about it. Unlicensed dentistry is not grounds for a lawsuit; it's grounds for an arrest. So this isn't about dentistry. Even barbers are licensed and for the same reason. A free market in dentistry would give clients the same freedom to choose their dentists as dentists have to choose their clients. And we can't very well have that, now can we? So cartels are put into place to restrict entry into professions with the object of holding competition at bay so as to keep fees from falling. The result is "guidelines." Informed consent? I don't think so. I don't think you can get around "guidelines" by signing a waiver. If that were possible, then terminal cancer patients could sign and gain access to experimental treatments. But my dentist didn't put this lousy system in place, and doesn't deserve the blame for it. So my rating was unjust. Of course, then my earlier full-star rating was similarly unjust. For how can I, or anyone, express complete satisfaction in a circumstance where coercion is employed to deny my choice? read more

Staff is very pleasant. However, I had a tooth filling done here and I just had a cleaning done. Apparently the dentist who did my filling didn't clean out the cavity completely before filling, and resulting from that, I now have two cavities in that tooth. I was told it was not a problem with how I brushed or flossed, only a mistake of the dentist. After the filling is redone, I'll be finding a new dentist office. read more

I had to go to the dentist, these guys had great prices compared to other places I have called. I was able to be seen without much delay and get some major needed work done to get me out of pain and fast. I then had them do a complete workover on me since it has been 5 years since I had last seen a dentist. They did a great job on all my teeth, the Dentist was doing his best to make sure I was not in pain and when I was and I had to raise my hand, he would stop, apply more of the anistetic, then continue once it was gone. All the crowns and fillings are holding nicely 6+ months later down the road and I will be seeing them again because the lady that does the cleanings there does a great job and has one of the top of the line cleaners! I definitly recommend this place to anyone! read more

I dont have time for guessing games & rudeness (Bell loc) on inconsistent costs, print, and between offices?! They never mention the added $200 for buildup est... Told Hatcher gal I had their online coupon. Hatcher insisted are "less than Bell location". Had est fr/Bell in the summer ( have that print). Bell did not have appt time avail. Hatcher's est. came out MORE than Bell (not less as was told)! Told her about the coupon-cost then was SAME as Bell/Scottsdale. Was told that Bell quoted me wrong on "high noble metal crown", last summer. Bell woman too unfriendly & hung up, waste of time! Inconsistencies in word & print & between offices. I had some work done here and the doctor was able to completely repair a tooth that I thought would have to be pulled. The entire team working there was very polite and answered any questions I had. I am beyond impressed with Hatcher Dental Studio. My wife, four children, and I went there today, and it was such a positive experience, I feel like I can't help but let everyone know that this is a great dental office tor families. This was our first trip to the dentist in 18 months (we've been busy, and we moved, and, well, we'd chosen not to make this a priority), and (I've never said this about a dentist before) I'm looking forward to my next cleaning in six months from now. I am appreciative of Hatcher Dental Studio for a couple of reasons. First, they were extremely respectful of my time and accommodating towards our (larger than most) family this morning. They called me out of the waiting room to get my X-rays probably within five minutes of getting there. I'm used to hurrying to get somewhere on time and then being forced to wait 30 minutes, so an office actually respecting my time was extremely refreshing. Also, they were helpful and understanding of our needs. We have young children, and they agreed to see all of us at once (on a Saturday morning, no less). I also am impressed by how gentle the staff is. Dr. Sweet and (I can't remember her name...??) were very considerate as they cleaned, polished, and examined my teeth. I am usually clinching the arms of the chair when I am at the dentist, but today, I felt virtually no pain. My wife and children similarly had no complaints. Dr. Sweet even took time to examine my toddlers' teeth and give me much needed advice on how to get him to brush his teeth. I almost forgot to mention-- this is one of the only experiences I've had where I don't feel like the dental technician is being condescending or not looking down on me (figuratively, because, well, they are looking down on you when you're in that dentist chair). I wasn't interrogated about my flossing habits. No dirty looks for missing 18 months. Rather, there is an attitude of service and encouragement amongst Dr. Sweet and his staff. Quite refreshing! Although not all of my family members left with good news (one of my children will be returning next week for fillings), I was impressed with how flexible the schedules are at Hatcher. I like that Hatcher is so flexible, basically working around my schedule rather than the opposite. The first checkup my husband had here, they told him they couldn't do the root canal for him and referred him to another clinic. We went to that place, he got it done, and we payed $1100.00 cash for it. They didn't tell him he needed a crown placed on top of it. 3 weeks later, the root canal started falling apart. We scheduled another appointment with Hatcher Dental after finding out he needed a crown. Over the phone they told us a crown would be $550. So my husband went in and they start telling him it will be $700 for the crown. He told them no, then they say they can fill the root canal for an additional $200. They told us before they don't do root canals at all and now they do?!?! When my husband said no, that he will get estimates from other clinics, they started getting agitated with him telling him they're the only ones who do the work in Phoenix, really?! Yeah right!! When he told them how much we paid for the root canal, they were shocked it was so expensive, and they do it for cheaper, well geez, they recommended them to us!! All in all, this dental clinic is not good. They aren't reliable with their advice, and their services. They change their prices on you, and then when you say no, they are no longer pleasant with you. Don't be fooled by the appearance with this clinic or the other ratings. Not happy at all. We will be looking for someone else to finish my husbands dental work. read more

I had a very unpleasent experience today at Hatcher Dental. I felt the practice was very unprofessional. I arrived promptly at my new patient appointment today, excited to get some feedback on some issues I have been experiencing lately. I waited 30 minuets in the waiting room, which was not a huge issue for me. I understand that doctors get behind. However, the receptionist and two techs gabbing in spanish and rolling their eyes in front of patients was not professional in my opinion. When I was taken back for the first portion of my x-rays the x-ray vest that the tech handed me was very wet, as if it had just been wiped down and not dried. When I was taken back for the second portion of my x-rays, I had a hard time with the size of the equipment that the tech was using. She told me "I know its uncomfortable, but just deal with it". I felt that Dr. Sweet was not personable, and that is something that is a must for me. I will not be returning to Hatcher Dental.
