My old practice was a single dentist, a few dental assistants and a receptionist. You spend your entire visit with the dentist and he provides you an honest summary of your visit. The total visit is under a half hour. Biltmore Commons has 6 Dentists and at least that many dental hygienist and more dental assistants and receptionists. You spend the majority of your visit with your hygienist and about 2 minutes with the dentist. Because there is so much overhead you get a Spirit Airlines experience where you are constantly getting upsold nonsense. The hygienists are more like used car salesmen than people who clean your teeth. I have been to this place twice and they have tried selling me laser treatment ($100) night guards ($800), Invisilign, a Waterpick ($120), an additional cleaning, and they were going to try to sell me an electric toothbrush if I didn't already have one. The hygienists don't give up the entire visit until you say yes to something. The dentist never says you need any of these things. I never went through with any of these scams. And I will not be going to Biltmore Commons ever again. My first visit was 2 hours (with x-rays) and my second was almost an hour (without x-rays). I have a life and my time is not valued. My recommendation is to find a dentist with less overhead where they can pay for their practice with just regular dental work and not ancillary products.

During the whole time I was checked on to make sure I was doing okay and everything was explained every step of the way so I not only knew what was going to be done but also what exactly to expect. Dr. David Ngo took his time to review everything with me and thoroughly explain what he saw and and the reason for his recommendations. He was able to answer any questions I had and never did I feel he was rushing to get to his next patient. Made me feel that he genuinely cares about his patients and my dental health. I went with a different place at first because it was closer to where we were living. Well, that turned out to be a mistake. I ended up having a bad experience there and finally switched to S&L. Dr. Ngo and his team fixed everything the other dentist had messed up. Right away I knew my wife had been right all along. I've been going to S&L for four years now and they really are the best dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Ngo has removed all my old metal fillings and replaced them with modern ones, plus he's done a couple of crowns for me. Everything looks and feels great. My wife has also been extremely happy with all the work he's done for her too. I'm almost 55 and I've seen a bunch of top-rated, highly recommended dentists over the years, both here in the US and a couple in Mexico. Nothing else comes close. One thing I have to mention is how good Dr. Ngo is with people who hate dental visits or get nervous about pain. His work is excellent, but it's the way he takes care of you that makes the biggest difference. For example, the way he does Novocaine shots is unbelievable. You barely feel it at all. Every dentist out there should learn his technique. With all that said, I do think the front office experience could be better. If the customer service up front matched Dr. David's clearly caring vibe, it would be 100% perfect. I had to have dentures placed and he was so gentle and did such an amazing job surgically that my recovery was unbelievably quick and not nearly as painful as I had anticipated. He had to remove all my remaining teeth due to a medication I was on for 6 months that caused my teeth to become brittle and break at the gum line. I travel here from 30 miles away just to get a cleaning, as I used to live next door. They seem to be cutting edge on their technology, and the doctor is friendly. The only issue I wish they would improve is parking communication. I always have trouble finding a spot and don't know where their deck is to park at, and by the time I'm leaving it's too late. The front desk staff is friendly and nice and I've never had an issue with billing. My wife has been to different dentists that wanted to bill for phantom cavities but this place has never done that to me. They are honest and good.

The hygienists are careful and thorough and the office is very relaxing with floor to ceiling windows and city-mountain views from the 6th floor; perfect for distracting your mind! They have very thorough COVID protocols right now with a squirt of hand sanitizer when you arrive, temperature check, wipe down of the counter when you sign in, and a mouth rinse with peroxide before your cleaning. They also added HEPA filters in each room and a new vacuum-rinse system that minimizes aerosols so I felt very safe during my two recent visits.

On 5/22/26, dentist Rudolf Uvadyex, said that since the bitewing xrays from another dentist were…read morenot clear enough for him to make an assessment of the condtion of my teeth, he would give me the xrays for free. About 2 weeks later DentaQuest said a claim was paid for those xrays. I left 2 voicemails with the manager to discuss this issue and request cancelation of the claim. The manager did not contact me by phone, so I sent an email requesting cancelation of the claim. It has been at least 10 days and there was no response to the email. I feel that either the dentist lied to me or the clinic filed a fraudulent claim. In addition, the dentist told me he would not work on my teeth unless I do a Scaling and Root Planing (Deep Cleaning). I went to two other dental clinics and they said a deep cleaning was not needed and that a mid-range cleaning was satisfactory.
