They Lost my bag of :antibiotics, a new muscle relaxer, & hydrocodone pain meds. I only lasted 4& half days. I Was refused a shower!!! Had only 2 showers while there. The Friday that I checked out I demanded my bag of new medicine & it took several Staff members an hour & half to finally locate the meds before I was discharged. I reported numerous Issues to the Nursing director while I was there (wheeled myself thru hall). Also Alerted the Administrators. I Was so happy to leave. .

I was put in a shared room with a lovely lady easily into her 80's . I tried to make the best of my 10 days here however I was treated as if I was an 80 year old patient. I was constantly awoken to have my vital signs taken at all hours of the night, injections that left several bruising on my stomach and medication to make sure I had regular bowel movements, I never took those pills, I would spit them out of my mouth as soon as the nurse walked away and still had regular bowel release. I felt like I was in the movie one flew over the cuckoos nest. Every 3 days was shower day, where they would bring in a chair made out of pvc piping and I would be wheeled into a wall to wall tile shower room. Their was only one soap to wash your hair, face and body. Once you where done, they would drape me with bedsheets to return me to my bed. I haven't even gotten to worse part of my room. We had 1 bathroom that the moment you turned on the light their would be an annoying humming sound, their was no windows in the "restroom" and the lighting was that type that would give me anxiety, that I was required to share by two rooms and 4 people. It was absolutely ridiculous and disgusting to enter and see their urine and crap on the seat. We where provided with wipes to clean ourselves but I primarily used them to clean the toilet seat, their was even a bathroom leak so unfortunately since my legs weren't working so well I would unfortunately step into leaking toilet water. The wipes where often used to clean my feet and luckily I had brought my own sanitizer and would clean my feet, I would request socks and would get a pair a day later, apparently their was a shortage of socks for us patients. I once held my bladder for 20 minutes waiting for some woman in the other room to get out of the restroom as I heard her go through her repeated ocd routine. I hardly ever pushed the assistant button but I was about to urinate on myself so I pushed for the help button to ask where else I could use a restroom and no one came to my aid. I finally had to be "that person " and started banging on the door for her to get out!! I did try to find some positive things from the facility and I convinced myself that the highlight of my bed by the window was a treat until it rained and our room was completely flooded with rain water, so their I was with my sweet little old lady roommate awoken at 3am to have the room wet vacuumed. And finally the final straw, the day before I was meant to be released I by chance had a fever, and since the was at the brink of the beginning of the CoronaV they panicked. They quickly removed my sweet little friend out of her bed against her will, made the room a quarantine room. I was inserted with a catheter and a IV. I had previously had an appointment outside the facility and they started to blame my nephew for giving me CoronaV. I was F this crap, I got in a verbal argument with the main facility social worker who looked for anyone to blame for me bringing this virus in. As they awaited for an ambulance to take me to Kaiser hospital to be admitted, I could hear the nurses outside saying I don't want to go in her room, please come get me in 5 minutes for any excuse. I packed all my belongings so my husband could pick them up since I knew I wasn't returning myself. Once I was admitted to the CoronaV section of Kaiser hospital, the cause of my high fever was all due to a bladder infection and I was completely negative of CoronaV. I was livid I had to spend another five days away from my son and husband completely isolated, by this point I had been in health facilities for a month and just desperately wanted to go home and start healing even more so from my spinal cord surgery. I won't even get into the "food" I hardly ate. I basically lived off a coffee a day and whatever pastry I got. The only one positive thing I could say was the CNA's seemed to be the only ones who cared for the needs of the patients. I wouldn't wish any family to put their loved ones into this hell hole.

I have arthropathy and degenerative…read morejoint disease in my hands, especially my CMC joint and thumb, which cause me a lot of pain, limited mobility, and weakness. This provider specializes in physical and occupational therapy for the hands. I've also had physical therapy through UCLA for my hands, but they really didn't do much of anything other than massage my hand. In contrast, Thera-ex staff made a detailed assessment of my hand and gave me specific exercises for my hand, wrist, and finger joints, including my thumb. I go twice a week and they apply a warm compress, have me do the exercises, apply ultrasound therapy, and give me a massage. These treatments do a lot to relieve my pain, which usually is much diminished for the rest of the day after my appointment. Additionally, all of the assistants, technicians, and providers are extremely professional, warm, communicative, and courteous. In fact, I think this may be the most courteous medical facility of any kind that I have ever frequented, and I have been to A LOT. I have a very complicated medical history and sometimes have up to 10 medical appointments a month. I have 10 different specialists handling my care and frequently since receive referrals to others. I have run into my fair share of hostile, discourteous, and disorganized medical offices. I am happy to say that it is always a pleasure to visit Thera-Ex. I have been there about eight times and have a lot more visits to complete. If you need occupational therapy for your hand, I highly recommend this place.

My daughter went through multiple therapists for OT and early intervention, before we finally found Littleland. The comparison between all the other therapists we've tried to the Littleland therapists is truly night and day. Before finding Littleland, my daughter really wasn't making any progress, now she is regulating better and learning so many tools. They also offer feeding therapy which is very difficult to find. My daughter works with Miss Faye, Miss Shu, and Miss Marisa, and they are all so wonderful, with a special place in our hearts due to their excellence. As for the sensory-play gym it has done wonders for our sensory-seeking-kiddo. She can run, climb, swing, and get so much great proprioceptive input. It's been really great for her, because she has a hard time with transitions and it gives her extra time to regulate and play. Elena Vogel was my lactation consultant, Dr. Kolleen Gregory was our infant chiropractor, and Dr. Choi is currently our pediatric dentist. Dr. Nguyen evaluated Adam the morning after I gave birth. He wasn't able to latch all night so she came to the hospital and said he had a tie. I was adamant about breastfeeding so after we were cleared by our doctors, we checked out on the second day and went straight to our appointment with Dr. Nguyen and Dr. Choi. Dr. Choi, who did the laser treatment on his tie actually found that it was much tighter than they originally thought, so I'm thankful I did it. It was a few seconds and it was done. Adam cried and truthfully screamed a bit, but stopped the second it was done. He had already settled down by the time he was back in my arms and we went home. The post-op care was heavily stressed by Dr. Nguyen. She was very thorough and careful when explaining how to do his oral stretches. She emphasized that the post-op care wasn't just his mouth, but his whole body. She was so incredibly knowledgeable on how the body functions as a whole and how it all ties together, so the movement and stretching of his mouth and entire body is all important. I'll be honest and say that I didn't want to do any of it because my cooter was healing and I was still in pain from just coming home from giving birth. It was all very fresh. But I looked at my baby and decided I'm his mom and this is my responsibility. Every single day for the next 3 months, I set aside the bare minimum of 5 minutes but realistically it took 15 minutes to do thorough movement for my son. I put in the work. I took videos and sent them to Dr. Nguyen and she would give me feedback. Call me crazy but my son was and is an "easy" baby. Be it a blessing of luck with a combination of effort and work, I see results. He eats a variety of foods, hitting all his milestones, and developing beautifully. I call back the next week "you're actually not covered". I personally call my insurance and within 5 min, they verify that services are covered. This goes on back and forth with my husband and I and this office until the beginning of Feb in which i get an appt in wi the doctor. This office staff will NOT call you back and you pretty much will have to chase them down yourself. My kid is lucky that i am a healthcare provider and understand how insurances otherwise it would've taken even longer. I wouldn't even have gone here if it were not for a referral from my wonderful pediatrician. Dr Fernando on the other hand, is great to work with. Very professional and super smart.
