Irish Butter Pecan
Kelly M.

Excellent service, taste before you buy, several wonderful flavors from which to choose! Staff, friendly, helpful. Parking is slim. Big vehicles beware. Outside seating offered - picnic tables. Too bad no sidewalks from the area subdivisions. Hwy 210 can get busy out of Smithfield, making it difficult for a left hand turn to head back towards McGees. Cash is king, or you'll have card fees added to your bill. Mini donuts not impressive. Young girl manning it looked as if she was bored, or not interested. Even with the owner right there. The donuts resembled hush puppies. Decided not to try them this visit. We did enjoy a chocolate chip cookie, which was good. The coconut ice cream was delish, not overpowering. The Irish butter pecan was a great option to the local butter pecans (Hersheys). It's my new favorite! Support local!

High class creamery with a small town feel. The quality of the ice cream, doughnuts and seed ice is a 5 star experience. The parking and layout of the store looses a star. Baseball team there while we were. Maybe 10 raking spots. All taken. Another reviewer mentions the inside layout. The door forces you to the counter. Then you feel cluster phobic and want to escape. Normal issues for a small local place. Quality ingredients. This is the second review that is here to tell you From the sea By the bee is a flavor not to be missed. Salted Carmel made with honey. I'm not from NC. I will dream of this ice cream. Mini doughnuts are delish as well. Made fresh. I had the cinnamon and sugar. Not the powdered. Support local. If you have the chance on a road trip, stop by. After dinner, get a scoop. Celebrating life. Go. This place will make memories.

All the flavors were so good and the icecream was so good. Cute little place and good customer service. Everything is fresh and they even let you sample the flavors and have to go containers for larger portions

Very good ice cream with lots of cool flavors. The service was great. It's a small place without a lot of seating.

Good ice cream in a cozy place. Not a lot of room inside, but they do have overflow seating on the patio.

I've been wanting to try one of these spots for the longest but never really had time. This…read moreparticular day, my youngest and I decided to try this place. Upon entering it's very clean, spacious and welcoming. The service was quick and staff were friendly. I had a free reward for signing up and opted for the sweet potato pecan cobbler, purchased one original peach cobbler and an Oreo puddin' Shake. First things first, all the cobblers come with vanilla ice cream. The original wasn't anything special, it's your average peach cobbler. I prefer more cobbler to anything. The sweet potato pecan cobbler was not good to me at all. The sweet potatoes were too chunky for my liking and were hard. My son ordered the Oreo puddin' shake which was another disappointment. He didn't like it and when I tasted it, all I could taste was whip cream. It was like a cup of whipped cream. It had Oreo crumbles on top but, not pudding consistency or Oreos throughout, it was like drinking a cup of whipped cream. Overall, I was able to say I've finally tried PCF but more than likely, I will not be going back to any of them.

I went with the "Cookies Make Everything Batter" in a cone, and it did not disappoint. The cake batter ice cream had just the right amount of sweetness. The Oreo cookie mix-ins added a perfect crunch to each bite. The waffle cone was fresh, crunchy, and paired perfectly with the ice cream. Our server was super friendly, helpful, and had a great sense of humor, which made the visit even more enjoyable. I only got a small since I had just eaten, but it was the perfect size to satisfy my sweet tooth. I could see how they might run into some delays if it gets busy, as there was only one person working and the group behind us had to wait a bit while she finished helping the three of us. That said, by the time we made our decisions and got in line, it was our turn, so it worked out. The shop was quiet with no background music, which made it feel a bit calm and low-key. A great first experience overall. I'd definitely go back to try other flavors.
