Cake town bakery is located in a shopping plaza with other businesses with shared parking. Cake town is a black owned bakery that I have been wanting to try for a while. I finally got the opportunity to visit for a live music event series that just started at the business. The bakery is nicely decorated with tables inside. They offer beverages and a variety of cakes, cookies, pudding, and other desserts for purchase with a changing menu. The event and musical guest was great. I really enjoyed the singer. The female clerk that I engaged with was pleasant. The male owner was also present during my visit. I ended up buying a piece of pound cake during the event. A yelp friend invited me to join her at an event at Cake Town Bakery. I arrived right at the start time. The parking outside is plentiful. We had good seating. It was nice and cool inside.I enjoyed an evening of music here at a monthly event they hosted. The service was great. 2/8/23: I went to the laundromat the day before and noticed this cute little bakery. Unfortunately, they were closed, so I made it a point to go today. Y'all know I LOVE cake, so I was excited to see their open sign lit up. We went a little before closing, which I'm sad about. I will be sure to go earlier next time. We were immediately greeted by the owner's dad. He was so bubbly and friendly. I loved him! We ended up getting a mocha chocolate cake square and some chocolate chip cookies. Now, being that I get cake all the time, the only thing that I didn't care for was the icing. It wasn't the thick, sweet buttercream icing that I'm used to. It was more like whipped, and I don't like whipped anything! Outside of that, the flavor of the cake was good and it was SO MOIST. I scraped the icing off and just at the cake. The cookies were good too. I could taste the butter - YUM! We are definitely going to go back to their brunch and special events. I can't wait to see what other yummy goodies I can get my hands on. :) Go check them out. You won't be disappointed. read more

This is an amazing small cake shop. I tried the banana pudding it is very creamy whipped texture. I had the pleasure of trying the vanilla pound cake with cheesecake filling. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the cake just the right amount of sweetness. I was happy to find out that they do cake events where you can bring your boo or just you. I was picking up food from Grand Street Pizza and saw the bakery next door. On a whim, I popped in. It was a Saturday but unfortunately, I got there around 3ish and they were sold out of cheesecake for the day. I decided to get a piece of pound cake to go. As someone who's much more into salt than sweet, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this cake. I've already returned to try the cheesecake which was a-mazing! I wanted something sweet and I found this cute tucked away bakery in Knightdale. Walked in super quiet. the staff was very friendly. I got the 2 pack of red velvet cookies and chocolate chip cookies - they were good. However the Lemon Pound Cake -Yum!! (As you can see in my photo I almost forgot to snap the pic it was so good) It was my favorite. They also had other flavors , Peach and Sock It to me. I am a girl with a sweet tooth. They make the absolute BEST brownies! I've had one with nuts (I hate nuts in brownies) and it was delicious. I literally ate around the walnuts! The M&M brownie is just as wonderful. The strawberry cake is amazing too! Soooo moist and flavorful! It came with strawberry topping but it is totally not needed, lol! We ordered a Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Buttercream frosting from Caketown Bakery. Hands down the best Cake I have ever eaten in my life. It was so light and delicious. It was sweet but not too sweet. It was so full of flavor and even after eating a GIGANTIC slice, it didn't sit on me like a ton of bricks. It was light as a feather. The next day my nieces came over and destroyed the last 3/4 of it. Before I could have more. LOL!! I would recommend anyone who wants delicious desserts to go there. Let me start by saying the service is great. The location is stuck in a shopping center you may miss off not looking, but once you find it, the place itself is very cozy. Now that said, the stars are for the pastries which are amazing. The bread pudding, the multiple versions of 'nana pudding and the banana bread to name a few. I am also a fan of their gluten free options with the 'nana pudding and blueberry crumble being my favorites. I recently took a batch of their snickerdoodle cookies to work and they were a hit.
