Happy Hour menu

Cellar Hand is such a special little spot in Hillcrest. Excellent vibes, thoughtfully curated menus, and fantastic service. Sat at the bar for Aperitivo Hour and was gracefully taken care of by Josh. Pop on in!

Tahina dipper (lower right) and baba ghanouj dipper (upper left)

This was our first visit and we will definitely be back!! We got two dippers (Tahina and lBaba Ghanouj) to share and they were both AMAZING!!! And I absolutely love the concept of using hyper local food at a restaurant... so much better than a big chain that's getting the same generic food from national suppliers. We also got the strawberry dessert. That wasn't my favorite... the lady fingers were a little dry and the sauce was a little too sweet, but the presentation was beautiful. Next time I'll try the one that's more like peaches n'cream. Also the staff was FABULOUS. We can't wait to go back!

Super cute space with both indoor and outdoor seating, great service, and solid wine selection in addition to some tasty bites! The tallow fries are incredible. Those and the crudo were our favorite. Happy hour deals are excellent too - $5 beers and $10 wines/spritz/sangria! Would definitely come back when in the area.

Hazy IPA. 6.7 ABV. sorry I drank some before the picture. I was thirsty

This restaurant is on a unique class of its own. They have delicious menu items, and a huge array of wines. I did not know they were owned by palli wines which no wonder their food was so great. I tried the burger, it was juicy on a broch bun. Even tried their 6.7 hazy ipa during their happy hour. The service is commendable. Experienced well rounded waiters and waitresses. The ambience is very unique, with an inside and outside setting. Comfortable and welcoming.

Came to try this place with the wife The Focaccia was so delicious. They also have some Happy hour specials. We tried the Wild Boar entree honestly I have to say I felt like it was a chicken fried steak pork chop. The sauce that pared with it was good. The highlight was the Focaccia, also had smoked sausage. For dessert we had a chocolate mousse with cherries and hazelnuts was so flavorful. Our server Vanesa was helpful and attentive made our first experience a positive one. Great vibe parking lot is very tight so come early.

Burger, fries herb aioli

Had dinner with wifey, my bro and his wifey at Cellar Hand. I very much enjoyed their decor and their service. They were very attentive to our needs and everyone was very friendly. We got 2 dips to start us off along with focaccia bread. The dips were the chickpea and the baba ganoush. Both dips were delicious paired with both the focaccia bread and the pita bread. I had to slow down because I didn't want to get too full. The mains then came out and I chose the hamburger and my wife got the Cavatelli. I enjoyed the few bites of the Cavatelli. As far as the hamburger, it was very small and the flavor was just okay. I liked their fries and the aioli that came with the dish. I capped off the dinner with their cheesecake with blueberry sauce. The cheesecake was light and fluffy which I really liked and it had a very pleasant flavor. We had a great time breaking bread with family.

I love this place! And I've been here before because I live in the neighborhood. The food is always great here and the baba ghanoush is my favorite dip here and they age the pita bread for 24 hours and it is delicious! It's like no other pita bread you've ever tasted! I love their wines because it's Pali wines and they make all their wines. The cheesecake was delicious and the ambience here is beautiful. They really turned this place out when they redid it a few years ago. The service is excellent, and since I came in by myself, I sat at the bar and Steven the bartender is very nice and personable and answered all my questions. Warren is the manager, also very nice and personable... Everyone is so friendly here and the service is excellent. I highly recommend this place. You should check it out and they also do a great Sunday brunch complete with a little live music!

Ambience (indoor-outdoor space) was lovely; service matched the aesthetics. The food looked nice enough, but the taste/value was just not there. Shakshuka was verrrry salty (in particular, the tomato-based sauce; the toast underpinning the folded eggs was hard/dry and had a chemically-taste (perhaps from the grilling surface that it was toasted on?). Portion sizes of certain items (the sides of bacon in particular) were comically tiny. You can see the bacon in the background of one of my photos. It was effectively 1 thin piece cut in half... for $7. The quiche was less than a half inch in height and quite diminutive in size - for over $20. Maybe we caught them on a bad day; the brunch menu apparently just changed recently (the majority of the items we were interested from the online menu are not on the new menu, fyi). But today, we were underwhelmed.

Located on the corner of University and Normal Street in a small strip of shops, Cellar Hand is such a hidden gem. I can't believe I've always missed it. We first heard about this spot through our wine club since this is their sister restaurant, and we were excited to finally check it out. We brought a bottle of wine to sip and came in for happy hour. They use a farm‑to‑table approach with seasonal ingredients, so the menu changes -- which I love. They also offer fun options like bar dinners during the week, happy hour, and tasting menus for seasonal holidays. For drinks, you'll find a large wine selection, some beer, and wine‑based cocktails. We ordered a few apps, and each one was fresh and lovely. This is the perfect place for light bites and shareable plates. I'd love to come back for their three‑course bar dinners on Wednesdays and Thursdays. A cozy, thoughtful spot worth adding to your rotation.

My friend invited me to an event here back in June of 2024. This wine bar is such a vibe- I liked that they have some art work too! I got to try some glasses of wine and a yummy spread! There were sardines, olives, crackers, hummus, oysters, pita, etc. Everything was fresh and delicious! I would like to try their brunch menu soon!

Ribeye with tallow fries
Linda T.

Back again after a year. Greeted warmly and sat inside. Started with a chilled red that sounded refreshing. Light, balanced and perfect for what we ordered. Started with oysters, baba ganouj and the Sicilian crudo which was salmon that night. Main we shared the ribeye with tallow fries. The oysters had a mignonette and a small eyedropper bottle of something with a tiny bit of heat. That drop made the flavor of the oysters pop. Added brightness. Genius. The baba ganouj came with their fresh pita and was creamy with tiny cubes of eggplant and tiny nasturtium leaves. Great textures and flavor. The crudo was beautifully presented and fresh and bright. The ribeye was done perfectly medium rare as we ordered and delicious. Those tallow fries were amazing. Full but somehow we ordered dessert. Had the basque cheesecake. Came with a fruit puree. Just the right sweetness from the puree. Crystal, our server was warm, attentive, and cheerful. We loved her. Great meal. Great evening.

This place was great, from the food to the service. We came to try their bar dinner for $50 and chose to upgrade with the wine pairings for an additional $10. They have a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. The bar dinner is only done outside or inside around their bar. Throughout the whole night we were checked on multiple times, never felt rushed and overall had a wonderful time. From the bar dinner menu we were surprised that we could choose from a list of 3-4 options for each course. Our group was able to order different ones and try a bit of everything. Portions were very generous, especially for the price! I got the house labneh, charred green beans and crispy pork schnitzel. The labneh was delish! Not too tangy and the sweetness from the onions was nice. The pita they served it with was of the thinner, lighter variety but still very tasty and fresh. The green beans could have been charred a bit more for my taste but still yummy and had a savory sauce on the bottom that I liked. The pork schnitzel was a great size. Didn't come with any sides but didn't need any since I was so full at that point. Because we were celebrating a birthday they also gave us a free dessert! We tried their tiramisu (with guava instead of coffee) and their deconstructed Dubai chocolate options. Both solid. While we didn't love any of the wine options in particular, we were happy to get to try a variety of different kinds, some that we had not heard before. It was helpful that they come with little descriptions for each as well.

Came here with girlfriends for brunch. I wouldn't recommend coming during the Sunday nearby Hillcrest farmers market since the parking lot was FULL and while I got lucky with parking in the lot, my friends had to park farther away near the post office. Our server was attentive and great with suggestions. They only had 2 tea options which seemed surprising but it arrived in a French press and made 2-3 cups. Our group shares the chocolate toast and it was delicious! I got the farmers salad and added a fried egg on the side (protein gains!) and it was filling. The setting was relaxing and really pretty with decor.

I made a reservation (just in case) because on a weekend you never know. Luckily, though, we arrived and there was plenty of available seating. My husband and I had our 10 and 5 year old with us and they easily accommodated us. It's a straightforward, but lovely menu that has a little bit for everyone. We enjoyed sharing a few plates and fresh oysters on the half shell. They do not have a kids menu, which was alright with us. Our daughter, who loves a good steak at 5 years old, enjoyed their pub steak and fries and shared a Mexican Coke with her brother. For my husband and I, we enjoyed sharing their beef tartare and to finish it off, a banana split. What we found so whimsical about Finca is their presentation. My husband and I really enjoyed exploring their menu and leaving room for a return visit soon. I ordered the Rose salad and some roasted potatoes (Bravas Rosas). The potatoes were really delicious and well-seasoned with crunchy and soft parts and a nice spicy dipping sauce. I wanted to love the salad because it was large and well-dressed, BUT the lettuce was gritty and could've used a more thorough rinse. I ended up not eating much of it because the texture wasn't good. One of my friends got the Rose Salad Pie which she really enjoyed (basically a pizza with Rose Salad on top) and my other friend got the gazpacho which really liked. I would definitely come back and try some other dishes. If I do, I'll update the review!
