The service was not up to par. I would prefer table clothes in a high priced restaurant. If you are not seated on a cushioned chair, it's very uncomfortable. For a restaurant with such great food, they have really poor service. Let's just get that out of the way right off the start. The hostess was phenomenal, our waiter was the pits. We ordered drinks and actually had to retrieve them ourselves from the bar because he didn't come back for 15+ minutes. Service was slow and inattentive the whole night. BUT THE FOOD! The food is exquisite! We had the shrimp cocktail, ribeye, strip steak, baked potato, carrots and the Brussels. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the sauce accompaniments were spot on, the sides were delicious and definitely shareable. The drinks were well made by the bartender as well. Any time we stay at Resorts we make sure to make a reservation at Cellaio Steak because we are huge fans of Scott's and every since we ate there the first time we were completely hooked . Even with all the Covid restrictions we were so comfortable and felt completely as ease dining there . We were greeted by a masked server which was a huge plus , all tables were more then 6 feet apart and the Menus were all printed paper that is disposed of as soon as your done using them to not risk Covid spread . So we ordered the salami stramboli as an appetizer and for our main course my husband got the king crab legs and I ordered the veal parmigiana and we got a baked potato as a side plate . Every bite was more delicious then the last . Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned perfectly. Being huge fans we will definitely be back and can't wait for the next time !!! Amazing! Wish I could give Cellaio Steak ten stars. My wife and I dined there last night with another couple. We all agreed it was one of our top 5 dining experiences of all time. I don't think I'd ever been turned down by a restaurant before the kitchen has even closed. This happened to us last night when we came in for our 9:00 reservation- I had called the hostess ahead of time to apologize and let her know we were running a tad late, as we are not from the area and were coming all the way from Plattsville area (over 1hr drive). Hostess on the phone said, "Absolutely, not a problem." HOW IS IT then that when I arrive at 9:30, hostess has gone home for the night clearly, and nobody including the grumpy bartender greets us as we walk in. Some guy from the kitchen came out and rudely said to us "You should've came earlier then, because we only do appetizers right now". I'm appalled. I work as a bartender in this industry, and especially for a place that is not open every night of the week, similar to mine, turning down business seems outrageous to me. I'll give it another try next time I'm upstate, albeit with a slightly salty taste in my mouth from this experience. Cellaio's: don't tell customers your kitchen closes at 10 when it doesn't, and people travel from very far to eat there!!! read more

This was the highest rated restaurant at Resorts World, so I opted to dine here for my 38th bday. We had a fantastic dining experience here. We skipped the appetizers and decided to go straight to the entrees. I ordered a NY strip with abaked potato. My hubs ordered the salmon and creamed spinach. My strip was seasoned and cooked to perfection as was my baked potato. Everything was bursting with flavor. My hubs devoured his salmon and creamed spinach. We liked our entrees so much that we decided we must try dessert. He had the salted caramel boudin and I mango and blueberry sorbet. The desserts were a hit. I would have liked to have a latte with my dessert, but the restaurant didn't have any soy milk. No worries, that's what Starbucks is for (I plan to head there after we wrap up out visit here). Overall, we felt that Cellaio was a HIT and after trying Double Tap and the food court (which were HORRIBLE), we realized that ALL of our meals should have been at Cellaio. read more

My husband and I had a much needed night out and away which started with dinner at Cellaio. From the time we entered and throughout the entire dinner, we had nothing but stellar service. Our waiter, Tyler, was very attentive and was able to answer our questions from the wine selection to food. He made excellent recommendations and took such good care of us. The calamari was like nothing I've had before. The seasoning was melt in your mouth yummy. I had the petit file with shrimp and my husband, the skirt steak. Both were cooked exactly as we asked and expertly seasoned. I ordered the creamed spinach (my mouth is watering just thinking of it) and my husband, the pureed potatoes. Every one of the dinner items were beyond our expectations and amazingly delicious. Our waiter, Tyler, recommended the sorbets - we asked him to surprise us and he asked our preferences. The coffee and sorbets were a splendid way to close out our dinner. We both left with smiles on our faces and very happy bellies. Beautifully decorated and charming, Cellaio offers the Las Vegas experience for the convenience of upstate New York. The menu is winnowed but appeasing to anyone who graces its presence. Our first impression began with a private seating towards the rear of the restaurant. After choosing our desired water (flat, tap or sparkling) we were immediately presented with a bottle of champagne in celebration of my wife and I's anniversary. Our waiter Tyler cheers to our occasion and then began his explanation of both the restaurant and the Chopped Chief Scott Conants inspiration behind the menu. Tyler was very open to our questions and gave us top tier suggestions that were extraordinarily on point. Our food coma began with the standard bread display offering several dipping sauces each more lovely then the next. We followed this with the order of Polenta Boscaio which delighted our palettes but fired us up for the main course. The polenta was cooked perfectly and the flavors were unmatched. Both of us decided with the special cut of the night a 36 day aged NY strip accompanied by a side of Sautéed cauliflower adorned in onion strings and crispy pancetta. The steak: rubbed only with a mix of truffle salt and pepper was cooked perfectly, the only way to eat a steak... medium rare. I can not express the flavor of this steak, and as a frequent dweller of steakhouses this was by far one of the best if not the best cuts I've ever had. Peter Lugers, Morton's, Ruth Chris, Rothmans...I've had them all and i don't know what they did to this steer but the meat, texture and flavor sold me on whatever they were going to charge me. The cauliflower was also great but the polenta/bread filled us up and so I focused more on the star of the meal then the vegetables...sorry Mom. Anyway we continued to desert but treaded lightly knowing our stomachs could only hold so much. Tyler suggested the house made sorbet which included some very eclectic flavors such as jasmine mint, elderberry lavender and others all of which Tyler gave his personal experience of each. We chose the lavender and it was truly the perfect ending to the meal. I also ordered a Tea which was also a upscale brand, loose fitting in a silk sachet. There is nothing worse then shitty tea or coffee after a meal and luckily this was not the case. Our experience was Truly memorable, the prices fair, about 100 per person with a 3 course meal plus drinks and the knowledge of a returning customer. Tyler was a standup waiter, and due to his professionalism created the upscale Las Vegas ambiance one would expect. Third and final time at this Scott Conant restaurant. They have declined in food quality and service. Untrained staff (in NYC this would never be tolerated) that left us feeling lonely and abandoned. Dinner for two was $167 with NO alcohol or dessert. I felt cheated and unsatisfied. Also, if you order Italian, your meal will come with hidden chili peppers in the sauce. Quite an unpleasant surprise so beware. The waiter and busperson were barely competent on an uncrowded evening. Our appetizer arrived before we had plates on the table. Then they didn't bus the table until our entrees were tableside, and they realized there was nowhere to put the food. Once we told the waiter we didn't care for the spiciness of the meat (veal) he basically ignored us the rest of the evening. Bolted after the check came, didn't stick around for dessert. We decided to return to this place for my husbands birthday...as we did exactly a year ago. He loves steak and we both enjoyed it here! This is coming from NYC where we know we can be spoiled with all of it.... My critique stems from the bar. We were early for our reservation so my partner really wanted to have a nice cocktail before dinner...I told him order whatever and in truth, we were both being indecisive but agreed on Dirty Martinis.....what could go wrong? Apparently....everything? I think maybe....it would come down to bad olives. They tasted funny and although we brought the drinks to the table....we never drank them. I ended up spitting the olive I did try to eat, out. Other than that....food and service was great. We both had a glass of wine and a little dessert...which were lovely After we paid the bill I told our server what had happened. He seemed a tad concerned....although when we ordered the drinks initially everyone was busy or preoccupied with their own personal lives. I told them after the fact but when we got back to our room I ended up getting pretty sick. Again, I don't think it was the food but something about the olives sat really wrong with me. It's honestly my fault for not speaking up sooner...I just really didn't want to be an ass....but in hindsight, I wish I did. Olives can go bad fast and grow bacteria if left out....which is probably what happened. Word of advice: Stick to wine, and beer! And the food and dessert were great. Our Dinner at Cellaio was fantastic. My boyfriend and I ate here because we were staying at the resort. The atmosphere was very lovely and the staff all wonderful. We were helped by multiple servers and the manager Zach who was so friendly and helped make us feel so welcome and taken care of even during a busy Saturday night. Our favorite items from our order was the Stromboli, the gigantic loaded baked potato, the Ribeye and the honey amaretto gelato which was out of this world. We also ordered the Potato puree, mushrooms and mac and cheese which was also delicious but didn't wow us the same way the other items did. This place looks the part, but does not deliver when it comes to good food. We had to wait a half an hour for a table in an establishment that was mostly empty after 9pm. Made no sense, but we were given the last seating time and sat at the bar till they were ready. We order 2 expresso martinis and we both received some of the worst drinks weve ever had. So we understood that the bartenders were probably better at making drinks that were probably ordered more routinely, so we ordered a gin and tonic and I got a shots from there on out. Spent 20$ expresso martinis were that bad? We were waiting for so long, and no one bothered to tell us if our table was ready. We had to go an ask and they were like, oh yeah something is available. That being said the service people at the front and the servers were very polite and helpful. We ordered a salad, a chicken dish and scallops. Salad was drenched in dressing and was ok. I ordered their Little Gem Caesar which was one of the best I've had! For my main course, their Squid Ink Ziti Rigati, which was equally good! Only one thing, for me at least, the pasta was a little too much al dente for my liking. Both dishes hit the spot and the portions were good sized - and I will say, the salad was bigger than expected. You are also served warm bread with 3 types of dipping sauces. I've been to this casino quite a few times and everything food related is over-priced IMHO, but the food is good. The bartender's were friendly and were constantly busy. In the end, it was a perfect meal - and even more perfect because we used casino comps to pay for it. Hands down the best place to get dinner at Resorts especially if you have comps. We were here on a busy Saturday night. Apparently reservations were needed so we ended up eating at the bar which was fine. I had the beet salad and it was delicious! For my main course I had the scallops. They were very good but only four of them and one was kinda small compared to the others. Not sure the price matches the dish as it's pretty steep but I enjoyed it. Our drinks were made very well too. It's a nice atmosphere and all the food looks well presented. Not sure we'll be back though as we don't care for the casino/hotel anymore since many changes have happened and they no longer seem to appreciate their players club guests and we didn't win a thing on this visit.. oh well. Located in the main building of Resorts World Casino, Cellaio was a terrific dinner option for my weekend spent up in the Catskills. I started with a very flavorful Tuna Avocado (picture below)appetizer. A delicious creation that is making me hungry just thinking about it a week later. Next came the main entree. I was debating all week on either the lobster pasta or steak. Steak won out. I ordered the rib eye, a nice sized piece of meat. Flavored and cooked to perfection. One thing missing was my favorite vegetable, asparagus. That is why I brought it down a star. Always room for dessert, the tiramisu was my choice. I am very critical about desserts, and can happily say the tiramisu passed the test!!! You might want to win a few dimes at the Casino for Cellaio will throw you back a few Benjamin's, but hey, you only live once. Eat it up buttercup....Cellaio was a great choice!!!! When I started dining the food was amazing everything we ordered was unique and tasty..the service is wonderful, but.. something has happened with the food.. the Caesar salad I ordered didn't have any crutons and basically a few leaves of romaine for the price I paid it was a total ripoff. The portions have been getting smaller.. the pumpkin soup was mediocre and only a few tablespoons of soup. The dips they had are gone, now, they give oil and balsamic to dip bread.. really??? Food was average and atmosphere was poor. THE SERVICE WAS THE WORST I'VE HAD. My wife and I had 8:00 PM reservations. We sat by 8:05. That's when the service ground to a halt. Salad and appetizers came out almost immediately. Bread usually comes to the table first. I ASKED 6 DIFFERENT WAIT STAFF FROM BUSBOYS TO WAITERS!!!! The bread came with my main course. Toasted and cold!!! I had to ask and wait for a butter knife, never offered water, no salt and pepper on the table. This was a Xmas price fixed menu. When she took our dessert order she never asked if we wanted coffee or anything else. Dessert that was ordered at the beginning of the meal took another 20 minutes All the employees had terrible attitudes except for one. We have been to Catskills Casino many times now and every time it has been great. We finally decided to make reservations at Cellaio Steak one night and we are thrilled that we did. It is absolutely delicious! My husband had the bone in filet with the sautéed carrots, I wasn't THAT hungry (probably because I wanted to get back to the blackjack table) so I skipped the Squid Ink pasta and went for the beet salad as my entree. The Beet salad was delicious, my husbands Filet was SO good.. so good that I only got one bite :( I will end with this.. I am SO mad at myself for not getting that Squid Ink Pasta AND the Beet Salad! It's been 4 months and I still rave about the pasta and steak I had here while visiting my brother. The service was impeccable, the wine perfect temperature, beautiful glass and deliciously enjoyed. We ordered the caesar salad, it's enormous and good but really too large and almost filled me up before the pasta and steak arrived. My husband and I have dined here several times (once with friends) and absolutely love the food. We have never eaten a bad meal, and the steaks are always perfectly cooked and oh so tender. Last evening, we took advantage of the Prix Fixe meal. The polenta was delicious, especially with the addition of mushrooms and bacon. Creamy and perfect. I had the skirt steak which was wonderful, while my husband opted for the upcharge of $12 for the NY Strip which he also enjoyed. My only negative was the dessert. The salted caramel budino was way too salty for our taste. Once we dug down into the custard, we enjoyed it much more. Oh, and the service is excellent! Overpriced. Quality does not match the overinflated cost. A baked potato that is stuffed should walk to my table for $ 20. The up charge of $ 8 for mushrooms and $ 8 for onions is obnoxious. You can keep it along with your reduction sauce. Wait staff is unenthusiastic and lacked the ability to connect to the customer. They could care less if you enjoyed your meal or if you return. Cellaio charges NYC prices with a unsophisticated wait staff and prices that are not representative of the quality of the food. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Went last night with a group of 8. We had an early reservation so the restaurant was not crowded. I'll be frank....the menu and place has potential.....but it was clear to me that it is a work in progress. While everyone was cordial the staff is inexperienced in the little things (like pouring the wine without dripping). The menu is interesting but it being an "Italian Steakhouse" 7 of 8 of us ordered either a steak or the veal chop. Here's where the place fell down. If I were on Chopped as a judge (like Scott Conant often is)....I'd say to the chef/line cood who cooked our meals..... "The steaks all need to have a sear on them. They were dull, lifeless and under seasoned. You've taken nice cuts of beef, and not done them justice." All our steaks were cooked to what we asked....but without a sear and some seasoning (salt/butter) they were pretty tasteless. Very disappointing. Sides were fine....apps were OK....only a couple of desserts. The Sorbeto tasted like freezer burn and a cold cup of coffee rounded out the meal. In the end.....someone has to teach the kitchen how to cook/sear and season a steak. If that's what you're known for.....it really needs to be improved upon. read more

First and last time dining here. My girlfriend and I are the most easy going people so it takes a lot to discourage us. I'll start with the food... We got 2 steaks and a side. The steaks were tough and fatty. You'd think at a "prestigious" steakhouse they'd be top notch, right? Wrong. We had a side of Mac n cheese that they must use the same dish to put seafood in, because all we could taste was lobster. Luckily neither of us are allergic. The one bright spot were the drinks tasting great, but even that was ruined when the busboy took a plate from our table and knocked my girlfriends drink spilling half of it and were thrown a dinner napkin to soak it up ourselves. No replacement, no compensation, ok we can still deal with that. The service was what really ruined it, and I wish I could give 0 stars. I'm writing this review at 5am because I'm still fuming and can't sleep. Right away we could tell this guy was a clown when the first thing he did was complain to us about his coworkers stealing his water pitchers. Later on, my girlfriend asked him where the restrooms were, and he said "back corner, down the creepy little hallway". While we're waiting for our food, another couple gets seated in the booth next to us, and they're lucky enough to get the same waiter. His first interaction with the couple, he sneaks up to the table and scares the woman who never saw him coming. We choke down our food trying to get out of "Cellaio: House of Horrors" as fast as possible, but to put the cherry on top, it's my girl's birthday, and I want to do something special. I pull Bozo The Clown aside and ask if we can do something special, he says sure, honks his nose, and goes back to the kitchen. He brings out a little dessert with a candle, and awkwardly sings happy birthday with me then stands there waiting and says to her "blow it out!". She does, and he leans on our table and moans like he's making a middle school sex joke. At that point it took everything in me not to grab this guy up and make an absolute mess of him in the restaurant. His next customer(s) may not have as much patience. Zero Stars, waste of time & money, terrible service, just an all around bad look on what's supposed to be a high-end place. Wouldn't be back if you paid me. read more
