Needed dinner and we're visiting the nearby water park. It was the only restaurant open at 8pm. Wifey ordered the shrimp scampi, Nona ordered the chicken parm. lil man got spaghetti and meatball and his friend got linguini and butter. I got the shrimp and corn chowder. Everything was amazing. Wifey absolutely loved the shrimp scampi and the chowder was delish. Nona said the chicken parm tasted great as well. Service was super. Even though we came in at 8, the place closes at 9. Sat us right away and took our orders. Super attentive and gave us extra bread as well. Oh did I mention the dishes were like family style. Could have had 3 people eating from the scampi and parm each. Place was clean and brightly lit. Plenty of seating as well. If we are in the area, will definitely be back. I'm new to monticello. This is the third pizza place I've tried in the area. It is by far the best pizza I've had outside of Long Island and in a long time and I will definitely be returning. Came upon this restaurant on yelp searching for an Italian place to eat near the hotel casino (resorts world Catskills) we were staying at. Sooo happy we decided to come eat here. The ambience is cozy, service super friendly and inviting, prices fantastic! The food portion is ginormous, and flavor on point! We had the burrata special for appetizer, chicken parmigiana with garlic and oil pasta, and chicken parmigiana and pasta in a vodka sauce. All amazing! All of the selections were wonderful and I, especially, was impressed by the trays of ordourves placed at each table; all servings were very generous. We came as a group of nine people. After a bit of a wait, our orders were taken, followed by hot bread being placed on our table, only by request and only after waiting about 45 minutes. The bread was delicious. The pace of service started to improve a bit, particularly regarding the filling of our water glasses. I purposely came NOT hungry so that I wasn't too affected by the slow pace of service at this restaurant. I knew that on the Labor Day weekend, the staff would be pushed to the limit. Eventually, our appetizers and salads arrived and were delicious. Later, our entrees arrived and were also delicious! I ordered broiled salmon, and it was cooked exactly as requested. My wife ordered an artichoke appetizer and loved it. Even her French onion soup was surprisingly good. My nieces salmon came nicely prepared. Almost all the entrees came out at the same time, which was an improvement over prior visits with large groups of people. My sister's alcoholic drink was noticeably watered down. The long waiting times and uneven pace of service remain a deficit for what would otherwise be a good restaurant. Not Recommended read more

Wow. I've been visiting the Catskills for 25 years and this was never on my radar. The bread! The best ever. I could just come and have bread and wine. Others had the chicken parm and chicken marsala and also gave them high grades. Had the bomba for desert. I am sure that they didn't make it there, but it was also very good. My parents and I took a trip to Catskill just for a safe mini vacation for her bday. My mom looked at restaurants in the area prior and she said she wanted to set here for her bday dinner. This place really is the definition of a small, very friendly and kind family business that deserves all the attention. FOOD ORDERED: Chicken Parm: I WANTED THIS FOR MYSELF but my mom ordered it first. I tried her parm and it was DELICIOUS. Crispy and tender and perfectly complimented the spaghetti that came with it. Spaghetti: SO I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs bc I wanted to get something different from my mom. DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Perfectly satisfied my craving. It's a bit more soupy than I expected but honestly it's still so flavorful and delicious. The portion is HUGE so expect to take it home. The leftovers are going to taste INSANE bc the noodles are gonna soak in all that flavor. Zuppi di pesce: this was HUGE. Includes mussels, clams, squid along with the noodles. My dad ordered this and I asked him "was it good" and he says "really good!". This is from a man who always says "food is food". We ordered tiramisu for dinner which was divine. Love Italian food so thought we would give this place a shot. We were greeted and Sat quickly. It went down hill from there. Not a single staff member was friendly or ever cracked a smile. It took a long time just to get water. Then waited longer for bread, which was good. Then a bit longer to place an order. Portions were quite large. Could get the same meal at a restaurant 15 minutes away for $10 less per meal. Well let's say the lasagna was the worst I have ever had. Look like they slapped it on a plate with the cheese congregated in the middle. Way too many noodles. Didn't tell us they charged more by using a CC. Which is fine. Would have paid cash if I knew. Will not be going back. Teach staff good customer service skills. read more

We decided to go to this place when we were looking for Italian restaurants in the area because we were staying at a ski/water park resort close by. The restaurant has a old school Italian feel. The food was delicious and huge portions. A basket of warm bread is served with a salad as starters. I got the cheese ravioli which was gooey and amazing. The service was impeccable and the food came out very quickly. The owner even came out to ask our huge group (15 people) how things were and if we needed anything. The food is excellent, though obscenely overpriced, the wait staff is friendly and the amount of time we had to wait for our food was inexcusable. After waiting longer initially than seemed reasonable for our waitress, who was clearly doing the best she could given the number of people she had to deal with, we waited an hour just for our appetizers. We then waited another 30-40 minutes for our main courses, which came out one plate at a time instead of all at once. Although we love the food and the wait staff, my vote will never be to eat there again. It's just too frustrating to feel like we should eat something at home before going out to eat. read more

My friend and I ordered Linguini. It was supposed to have butter on it but my friend had hardly any butter while my plate was drowning in butter. This is probably the worst restaurant ever. I came for an event, the appetizers are the cheapest I have ever tasted. The good one only made one appearance, shrimp and gone. I have never really got it here. The pizza is bad and it's a pizza place so why would you think the dinners would be any good. The owners are very nice people! It's just that this is a restaurant. I'm not hanging at a bar with good friends. The bar is equally poor and the pour is light on alcohol not price. If you want to charge city prices pour a nice cocktail and I will stay. The atmosphere here is weird too. I just don't get the "let's stay here and drink cause it friendly" feeling. One of the local clubs meets here every week??? I had the Linguini with white clam sauce. It was the best version of this item that I have ever had in my life. A dozen whole clams blended with chopped clams and super fine sliced garlic in a delicious creamy sauce. Had 2 slices that were a VERY good size and a bottle of soda all for under $9.00. Not a bad price and a VERY large slice of pizza!!!
