There was a glitch - in that I wanted to just pay for the phone. My bank's algorithm denied the charge - so I wandered down the street to get the cash to pay for the phone. So far so good - until the following morning, I got an email from Verizonwireless with my new "financing contract." Said "friendly" sales person had financed $10 of my new phone for two years, tying up the line, locking the phone. She also switched me from a 2g to a 4G plan, and without telling me added some kind of insurance to the bil - to dry out the phone if it ever got wet. The following day, I went back to the store to call her out as the thief she was - demanded to return the phone. The manager took back most of the accessories, but REFUSED TO TAKE BACK THE PHONE BECAUSE I HAD THROWN OUT THE BOX - a $1200 Samsung Galaxy S20+. The phone was LOCKED - and I couldn't change carriers without buying another phone. My complaint to VERIZON prompted an area manager to call me and he assured me the phone was unlocked. After spending more than 4 hours at the SPRINT store in town the following Monday, that included multiple phone calls to the area manager, who ASSURED me the phone was "unlocked", I finally told the sales person there to sell me another phone - I would deal with the Wireless Zone folks in court. So, I forked out the money for another phone in two weeks - wasted HOURS of my time between July 17 and 20 driving to Dover (to try to get the phone unlocked), driving back to Wireless Zone to return the phone - manager refused to take it back! On the phone with area manager, wrote a complaint to DE AG's Consumer Protection Bureau - and I wrote a demand letter to Wireless Zone - as yet unanswered for the waste of my time, the additional money I put out. Wed, July 29, I got an email from Verizonwireless telling me they had processed my "request" to have the phone unlocked. It was NOT unlocked as of the day I bought my phone at Sprint. DO NOT SHOP THERE! THEY ARE NOT HONEST! It COST ME $1200 to have a phone I DON'T NEED BECAUSE I'M NOT DOING BUSINESS WITH VERIZONWIRELESS EVER AGAIN. I was a 25 year customer. This store changed that.

Last week I got an email from "PayPal" saying someone was requesting $1399.99 and if I didn't…read morerecognize this transaction, call this number. I didn't think anything of it because the email was formatted EXACTLY like other PayPal emails. So I clicked the number, "PayPal Customer Service" answered and long story short, they said that my PayPal was hacked, and had me download a program called Any Desk on my computer so that they could fix it and make my account more secure. I knew something was off and eventually asked the guy if I could finish this process the next day. He gave me a number to reach him and when I called the next day, it just rang and rang. At that point, I knew. I fell for it. ‍ I talked to the official PayPal number from their website and they said I needed to close my bank account and have my computer and phone cleaned. Freaking out because it was our business computer, I knew exactly who to call. I called Jason Johnson from Ctrl+Alt+REPAIR and within 24 hours, he had my computer and phone cleaned and all of the hacking data was removed. He advised me that I needed to change all saved passwords on the computer and assured me that I'm not the first person nor will I be the last who has fallen for this unacceptable behavior.
