Evidently, I am the antithesis of most of the earlier reviewers. My experience was quite favorable. I wanted a full featured, unlocked, smart phone but I couldn't afford a new one. Cell 4 Less had a used one for sale that they advertised on Craig's List for significantly less than I would have had to pay on eBay. James was the contact on the ad and he was very patient with me. He described the phone and even got some information from the phone's memory for me. He assured me that it wasn't blacklisted but then he even gave me the IMEI # so I could verify it myself. (Which I did, on the carrier's blacklist and on several others.) Additionally, James agreed to hold the phone for me for about 4 hours. Very unusual and very much appreciated. When I arrived it was similar to other cell phone shops that I have visited. They evidently work with a lot of carriers and had a decent selection of phones. It is a fairly modest enterprise. Brandon greeted me and explained that James wasn't there. However, Brandon was just as helpful as James. He went out of his way to reassure me that the phone wasn't stolen, lost or still under contract. I requested that he show me the IMEI on both the battery case and on the phone settings as well as check the moisture sensors with me. Everything checked out. He even offered me an Otter case at a much lower price than a box store and threw in a car charger to boot. All in all a great deal and a good experience. Another thing, Brandon made it clear that there was no rush and that he would answer any of my questions. Being my first smart phone, this was particularly kind. The only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars was because it took them 2 more days to get the unlock code for me. But they did get it and the phone appears to work superbly with aio Cellular. Bottom line, they kept their deal, the phone was as described and there don't appear to be any problems. At all. One peculiar thing did happen while I was there. A lady wanted to return a phone that she purchased because it (supposedly) didn't work. The sales rep that talked with her was very patient and checked the phone over and it apparently worked fine. She complained that it didn't work with her carrier's sim card but, get this, she didn't bring the sim card in. He assured her that had she brought the sim card with her he could have straightened out the problem. She just kept complaining that it didn't work. I'm not sure how it was resolved. However, these guys are not a major supplier so eating the price of a phone is surely unpalatable. I am sure that they would have made things right if there was a problem. But the phone worked! Sorry to have gone on so long but it irritates me when a store gets bad reviews and deserves some good ones. Those other reviewers may have had problems but I did not. read more

Do not go here. SERIOUSLY! The two guys there are running a racket. They get you into the store to replace a screen and then ask you to sign a repair agreement that is 100% blurred and not legible. DO NOT SIGN IT. It states that when they repair your screen they *could* potentially crack your LCD, and without your permission they're going to repair it and then charge you for it. I refused to sign it. They tried to explain to me how no matter what they were going to crack the LCD, and just buy the combo package. I refused again and the guy wanted to know why I didn't want the combo. My LCD works fine. I didn't need to replace it. The glass is cracked. They are getting people into the store and trying to scare potential and unsuspecting customers. I went to a place off Fondren and my phone was repaired just fine. read more

WARNING: DO NOT GO HERE TO FIX YOUR PHONE!!!! PLEASE READ BEFORE THINKING ABOUT GOING HERE! (even if you think the prices are cheap) Took my phone in for a cracked screen/LCD repair for an agreed price of $130. They called me to tell me I needed my sensor flex cables replaced for an additional $50 on top of what I was paying. I told them no and they said since I'm rejecting their service to replace the cables I need to pay $45 for labor fee if I want my phone back. Keep in mind that at this point they took off my entire screen already which cracks it even more and they expected me to pay $45 just to get my phone back in a worse condition than when I brought it in! When I first dropped off my phone, I asked the clerk guy (Brandon) what the $45 is for on the waiver and he said "that's if you change your mind and don't want to fix your phone anymore for example if you find a cheaper place and want your phone back" so I went ahead and signed it. My mistake...DO NOT SIGN IT! The $45 charge should have no applied to me bc I am not rejecting their services entirely, I am rejecting additional repairs that is not the original agreement!! I then spoke to the owner (Eric) by phone and came to a mutual agreement of $150 to get everything fixed including the sensor flex cables. He said my phone will be ready for pick-up the next day. Next day goes by I called to make sure it was there before going and the guy on the phone said it will be done by 5. I came in at 5:30 and they tell me my phone isn't here and at the main shop somewhere on Airline. I asked the guys there why they told me it will be ready by 5 if my phone isn't even here and they all denied talking to me on the phone. I had to say "don't lie to me" for one guy to admit that it was him. They didn't know what to tell me so they put me on the phone with a lady named Evelyn who was rude. She said that Eric is in a meeting and that Eric put my phone in a locker and no one can get it out. Now why would MY phone be locked up out of everyone else's phone and why would Eric tell me it will be ready the next day and ignore all my calls/texts? The entire day that day I tried to call Eric on his cell phone and even sent him mass text messages and no response ALL DAY. Last resort, I called the main shop where they took my phone to speak to Evelyn and Rossi about my phone and they kept putting me on hold because after waiting for so long I would hang up and call back. First time I was on hold for was10min, second time 15min, third time 5min, then eventually they did not pick up their line bc they didn't want to talk to me about my phone status. I came back here the next day again with the intentions of calling the cops if they didn't give me back my phone. Sure enough it was there. The lady at the counter did NOT let me check to see if my phone was working before paying and said it was their policy. WHAT KIND OF POLICY IS THAT?? That's when I finally received a text from Eric to my temp phone saying that he isn't going to charge me the labor fee and sticking to the orignal agreement of $130. I paid, got my phone, checked to see if it was okay then noticed my SIM card missing. I had to demand it from them to return it to me and walked out the store without a "thank you." I'm sorry but they did NOT deserve a thank you. This place tries to make money from you either way. They make you sign a waiver which says that a $45 labor fee will be charged and if you don't pay for your phone repair in 14 days, the phone is theirs. You bring the phone in for one thing...they tell you other things needs to be fixed and if you don't want it then you can have your phone back in the same broken condition only if you pay the $45 labor fee charge. DO NOT GO HERE BY ALL MEANS. Save yourself the hassel and pay just a little more for a better place. Just a few hours receiving my phone, my home button isn't working like how it used to. When you press on it, it sinks into the screen and is very fragile. This place has a Groupon that's only for broken glass repairs, not LCDs. The review below mine who gave 3 stars got scammed! Before going here I called to check if the Groupon applies to LCD's and they said no, only for broken screens. You got scammed!! You paid for the groupon which is $55 and an additional $30 just to repair your cracked screen when all you needed was the Groupon! I hate places who scam people. read more

The two guys working in the front are excellent!!! Just left another cellphone store for something that was supposed to be under warranty and found these guys!! Fix was extremely fast, super courteous and they offer a warranty! Was careful to explain any and all exclusionary stipulations to the warranty. Per my check in tip, I really appreciate the customer service we received here. I really feel effort should be placed in maintaining first timers as customers. Sometimes I wonder if maintaining business and/ or customers is important anymore. Ok- enough of the long intro! My wife purchased a groupon with a $55 value to have my sons phone repaired. When we got there the guy mentioned the groupon was for LCD repair and he wasn't sure if that was the issue with my son's phone. He had a cracked screen along with some possible wire repair. The guy decided that he would accept the Groupon + $30 bucks and just fix everything. He has gained a new customer due to that deal!! read more

Terrible place! Avoid at all costs! I went on 1/21/2014 to get my iPhone 5 screen replaced. First of all they showed online through craigslist that it costs $50 to replace the screen then when I got to the store they try to get me to replace the entire LCD for $115. I tell them that I only want the screen replaced for $50 and haggle me by saying that my frame also needs to be replaced and in total they will only charge me $70 for a screen and frame. I finally agree and after 1 hour the hispanic tech finishes the job and brings me my phone. The job was done so poorly that as soon as I login and try to write text messages my screen was not touch responsive and the Indian guy says that's normal and it will work in a couple hours. Well I stay in the store and I could see a black spot in the screen and I show the guy and he goes to the hispanic tech and the tech comes back saying that's the best they can do and I should've gotten the entire lcd replaced that came with the screen already. I ask them to replace the lcd and the tech obviously didn't want to do anymore work on my phone and said that this is the best it's going to be so I leave and pay them $70. Over the next few hours my screen was still not working properly and isn't responsive to touch that well. My texts would skip letters on the keyboard. I finally took my phone to Dr.Cell phone today on 1/22/2014 and they said that I received a defective screen from that store. I am never returning to that crooked place full of people that try to rip off people. They also have a groupon out right now. Beware! My review is base on my own experience, I took my I phone to fix the power button and they keep the phone for 5 days when they call me to said it was ready they charge me another 20 dollars I ended paying 58 and the phone broke again two weeks after and they said is no warranty they want another 58 dlls. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. DO NOT GO HERE. I cracked the screen to my iPhone 6, bought the Groupon for cracked screen repair- $49. I get there and they tell me that my LCD is messed up too. Not true, they tell everybody that. They "fix" the LCD and cracked screen- runs me $150. Less than a month later, I took it back to the store because the screen was coming up at the top. Took it back over this past weekend again to get it resealed properly and it is coming up at the top again! It looks like they just put some glue there to hold it in place, which isn't working. They are a group of young men who don't know what they're doing, just trying to make money without quality service AT ALL. This was not worth my Apple warranty being voided (after having a third party work on your phone). SAVE YOUR MONEY, TIME, GAS, PHONE, and LIFE by AVOIDING THIS PLACE COMPLETELY. This place is veryy bad! we called and came in to wait 2 hours for a screen to be fixed and they had a "special" for 65$+ tax to fix an iphone6 screen. First of all they put in a very cheap plastic/glass screen that does not feel anything like the original. (must be a china fake screen). After it was "fixed" I went home and the top of the screen opens up like it hasn't been "glued" back together properly. the screen was not sensitive to touch like before either! But they refuse to fix it or refund the money. I had to call my credit card company for dispute. I do not recommend this place. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR PROPERTY HERE! THIS MAN IS A LIAR AND A CROOK! I dropped off an iPad for a screen repair using a Groupon. Of course, as other people have complained, he charged more for the LCD, over and above the Groupon. At any rate, I left the iPad on Aug. 23. As everyone knows, Harvey hit on Aug. 25 and flooded the Bear Creek area. While his business was closed, it was looted. When I went back after he opened to inquire about my iPad, he said it had been stolen, along with all other property he had in his possession that he was working on (a clear case of bailment). He gave me this vague story that he was working with Apple to replace his customers' property, which makes no sense whatsoever. I asked for his insurance so that I could file a claim (not a flood claim - a claim for my property that was stolen when his business was looted). He has refused to give me any information and just kind of shrugged his shoulders and said "hey, it's a disaster." So, I presented him with a demand letter last week laying out all the ways he was liable (DTPA, breach of contract, breach of warranty, bailment) and asked for compensation for my iPad plus the money I had paid him to repair it. Now, he changed his story and said I NEVER BROUGHT HIM THE IPAD. He claims all his customer's property was in his safe and that I never brought mine to him. He knows my fiancé and I as we have left three or 4 things with him for repair. He is LYING because he knows he is in the wrong. It is unbelievable that for weeks he has been stringing us along (acknowledging that our property was stolen while in his possession) and now he changes that and says we never brought him anything. This place is under new management and the service was actually superior to the apple store. Great customer service provided by Jayson. Would give negative stars if I could! Do not take anything here! Took them my PERFECTLY WORKING iPad with only a crack in the screen. They gave it back to me NOT WORKING AT ALL and blamed apple saying that apple used a piece of tape to hold something together inside. SERIOUSLY?! I went there on a Saturday to get my ipad air fixed and possibly my iphone 5. The gentlemen had red eyes and slow movement. But the price was the best in my area so i stayed. He said the ipad air was 80 to fix (not sure how much he said to fix the iPhone because he had to charge it and see what was wrong in the inside). I said fine and he (Jayson) told me it would be ready by 5 pm (i came in at 1:30. I said fine and went about my day. I come back at 5:02 and ready to pickup my ipad all fixed and everything but he has the NERVE to tell me that the only screen he had was black (my ipad was white) and that the part would not be in until tuesday! So i replied well why didnt you tell me that 3 and half hours ago! and guess what this fool says? " i was just about to call you". I was heated! Huge waste of time! then i asked about the iphone he was suppose to charge and he said it didnt turn on and he charged it for 3 hours. LIAR i went home and it turned completely on in 10 minutes! Maryam screwed up my phone...simple as that. I try not to be negative, and I don't usually write reviews...but this girl works at this shop and apparently another shop as well...I will definitely copy/paste this review there also. I brought my phone in after I cracked the screen...she said she would honor the Groupon price ($35), which she did. After about an hour, she said "I even did you a favor and replaced your sensor". I was so happy with her service, we even connected because we are from the same part of the world (South Asia). I noticed that my phone wouldn't go dark when it was up to my face anymore so anytime I talked to someone, my cheek would press the mute button, or dial numbers. I tried bringing it back to her other shop last night, and the guy tried to fix it, but it did not work so he called Maryam for me, and right off the bat, she said its not her problem, there is no warranty. I certainly think if you break a feature on someone's phone, you should be held responsible...I have been calling her for more than a week, but apparently she doesn't answer the phone...this store is complete trash. I cannot believe I was trying to save a buck. I hope no one gets their phone repaired by these damn crooks. I was trying to cut corners and save some money, but I will never make that mistake again. I now have a phone that I can barely hold to my face while I am talking...this is sad, that she (I only hold her culpable because the gentleman that tried to help me was polite) simply does not give a shit...she simply does not care even if she is causing a problem and won't fix it...oh and by the way...her "new thicker, stronger glass" already has a crack in it after 3 weeks of normal use...These people have zero ethics... Stay far away from this place. Walked in to get my iPad glass fixed and for some weird reason they have good reviews on Groupon which is why I trusted the sketchy location. Big mistake. From the moment I walked in I knew what kind of people I was going to be dealing with. Dude talking on the phone, wouldn't have noticed I was there if I hadn't walked up to the empty shelf counter. Showed him my broken iPad and assuming I was an idiot first thing he did was tell me the LCD and my home button was broken. 169.99 he said. Well I had gotten my screen repaired before and I knew it was just the glass and digitizer. I even told him that I knew the part was only 20$ which he agreed and corrected me by saying it was only 6$ but there were a lot of parts that went with changing the screen, he mentioned "glue" which I highly doubt they used since my screen is already peeling off. You go for a screen replacement they fix it with a cheap grade screen that barely responds to the touch and then tell u the digitizer needs replacement and charge you $$$ which would cost you around the same to buy a same phone!! and wont tell that upfront. Horrible business. Brought an iPad 3 in to have the screen replaced, was told that it would be ready no later than the next day and would receive a call as soon as it was ready. Five days later, still no call and no answer when I called, I go to pick it up. After 10 minutes of "looking" for it, they bring it out and try to get me to leave before turning it on to make sure everything was working properly. After insisting several times, they very hesitantly attempted to power it on. When it wouldn't power up, they insisted that the battery was dead(had a full charge and was powered off when I left, after I turned it on upon arrival). I told them that couldn't be true, but insisted that they plug it into a charger so I could make sure everything was in working order before I paid and left. After plugging it into several "broken and faulty" chargers, they said that they must have "connected something wrong" when they changed the screen and needed to take it to the back for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, they came back out front with the iPad in pieces, demanding to know where it had been repaired previously. I told them that it had never been repaired and had come directly from Apple. They told me to "cut the crap and fess up". They then proceeded to tell me that it was missing a "clip" and it would not work. I reminded them that I had shown them that it worked when it was dropped off. They told me that I was lying and trying to cheat them out of money by saying that they broke the iPad. They refused to accept responsibility for it and refused to fix what they had broken. They told me that I could either pay for the repair that was made and "get the f@!# out" or not pay, have them find some random shattered screen to throw on the iPad, and "still get the f@!# out". I have already filed a complaint with the BBB, but I'm sure they will ignore it as they have done with previous complaints. These people are crooks! read more

I purchased a $70 screen replacement Groupon and took my GS4 with a cracked screen to the shop. The greeting and first interaction was well enough, i left my contact details a phone number i could be reached at and left. i returned an hour latter and was told the flex cable was broken and they needed to charge me $30. Once I asked why they didn't bother to call me or ask if they could perform the additional repair or why they didn't fix it because that was something they broke while disassembling the device to perform the repair. As soon as i mentioned the issues with the legality of performing a repair and charging for it without consent they gave up and sent me on my way. skip ahead 2 hours later, i remove the plastic wrap from the screen and rubber bands they had on it there are smudges on the inside of the screen and a couple scratches.
