Instead we broke down on Highway 49, just before Downieville. Was able to get family to come pick us up, but had no way of getting my husbands truck home, so last night I started calling around asking for quotes. I've used celestial towing twice this week once for personal and again for business vehicle. Personal vehicle was cheaper than what insurance wanted and after setting up pick up Danny was at my house fairly quickly and towed my car up to town no issues. The work vehicle pick up was even quicker as office is right down the street told the fella where it was going he filled out paperwork and off the van went. These guys are usually pretty busy but are available 24 hours. I appreciate the efficiency. Have depended on them in the past and will continue to use them. This post was from 2021 for some reason I didn't get around to submitting. Used celestial today, again quick to answer and quick to get to my uncle who broke down in a gas station driveway. I'm giving them NO stars!!! There is only 1 because I had to!! This is one of MANY of the worst businesses in Nevada county!!! Between not returning phone calls ON ANYTHING to not showing up to scheduled times after I DROVE DOWN HERE FROM NEVADA!!! I had to call them twice on the day of my appointment for not showing up with an " ill get back to you shortly" of which of course they never did!!! Then when I called back- OVER AN HOUR- after my appointment she seemed surprised that I said forget it!! read more

Celestial valley came through again! 350 Ford dually 4x4 broke down in the driveway so called AAA we got Fishers to come out and when he did right away the driver said cant tow on the flat bed we think he was too scared. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I was charged $315 dollars to have my car towed 6.5 miles and for 2.5 hours of storage. I was charged $240 for a full hour, despite my car being 6.5 miles away (most of that on a highway with a 55 mph speed limit) from the the site. I saw them load my car onto the Truck, it took about 5 minutes. Additionally, I went to get my car out of the lot 2-3 hours after it left the place where it was towed. I was charged another $75 for A FULL DAY of storage. The secretary who I saw said they went to go speak to the owner, they couldn't give me any kind of break on the price. So I paid $315 dollars to have my car towed 6.5 miles and stored for about 2 hours. read more

Needed a jump start for my Toyota - Conner came right away, got the car going and even offered to follow me to the auto parts store just in case the car stalled on the freeway. Our vehicle broke down on Hwy 80 and had to be towed to Reno the day after Thanksgiving. Andrew, the tow truck driver came to our rescue. As stressed as we were, Andrew set the tone with his friendliness and professionalism. When we arrived at the repair shop, it was closed for the holiday! After a hellish night of getting the run around from Fischer's (only to be denied service after waiting for them for ten hours when they promised we would be taken care of as long as "there weren't any babies hanging off of any cliffs" when 8 am rolled around)- Celestial Valley came the the rescue. Keith, the driver, had a great attitude and sense of humor, even thought he had driven all the way to Monterey a few hours before and had only gotten a few hours of sleep. SHAME ON YOU Celestial Valley Towing! My son & daughter in law got robbed of their LOCKED 4 Runner in their own driveway on Nov 6th. About 1 & 1/2 weeks later, CHP found their vehicle in NSJ. CHP called Celestial to tow it without my kids knowledge. Celestial called my daughter in law 1 time (CHP had both kids phone #'s) and she never got the message. 3 days later they called again to say come look at your vehicle. When my kids got there, they were handed an $800.00+ towing bill for a shot up, stripped shell of their vehicle. It had been completely stripped of everything, radio, tires, bumpers and all racks and then it had been shot at. So now it was just a shell on the ground. My kids were violated in their own privacy of their home and then handed an OUTRAGEOUS towing bill. Celestial....obviously this is how you treat the community you live in? SHAME ON YOU!!! So unfair and wrong in every way! I know you make more money being on a state contract but is money everything to you? read more

I got a flat tire in my Mini this past weekend, on an unpaved/unmaintained one lane road on the side of a mountain in practically the middle of nowhere (to me). I called Mini Roadside Assistance and they sent this company out to tow my car to the dealership in Sacramento (45 miles). Due to the circumstances, I had to hide my key with the car and hope for the best as I was unable to be around for the pick up/tow. I was told the car would be picked up in an hour, and almost exactly an hour later I got a voicemail from the tow company. I was worried because I didn't have any service in the area, but the driver left a very detailed and reassuring message letting me know that he found my key and was able to get my car on the tow truck. Needless to say, everything went very well and my car was rescued without issue! Thank you Celestial Valley Towing. You were my hero that day and I didn't get a chance to thank anyone in person so this review is my way of saying thanks! Great job!! read more

Bad business practices! Called one day about turning in and selling scrap metal. Was told that they DID buy it and to bring it on in. Loaded it all up, took it over there, only to find out that they do not pay for scrap metal ! In the previous phone call, I was even told how to separate the metals into which ones had value. Any business that tells you one thing one day, only to find out something totally different on the next day, his not worth their weight in scrap . Won't do any business here again!! read more

Called for a tow but was turned down because I was on a dirt road. This dirt road is a city road and maintained by the city. Looking at their posted vehicles on dirt road leads me to believe they aren't a real towing company! I will never use them from this experience. read more

I was so happy to know that there was a location in Nevada County that now takes cans, bottles, plastic, etc. Celestial has a back building that takes your recycle without having to drive to the transfer station any longer. My first visit went as follows: I pulled up and a young man came to me and asked what he could do for me. Great! I had been driving around with bottles and cans in the back so it was quite a mess. I jumped up and started to re-separate everything. The young man stated that I would need to take a screw out of a piece of aluminum in order for it not to be "dirty". He then ran to help another customer while I was separating my items. (fine) Once I was out of the truck I thought I would ask for a screw driver to take this screw out. A nice Hispanic gentleman that works there handed me one. I worked but to no avail so I figured I would just return the screwdriver and take it home to fix. Just as I am walking into the shop Jeff on a forklift says to me "You can't fix your stuff out here" I thought at first he was joking because it was so rude. No he was not joking. He then proceeded to go over to the you young guy and say as loud as possible "IF I EVER CATCH YOU DOING THAT AGAIN I WILL FIRE YOU ON THE SPOT!" (All while smoking a cigarette) The young kid said nothing. He did not try and protect himself, he simply took Jeff's verbal abuse. The worst part was I went into Celestial where you get your payment and I asked if there was a manager. She said no. I asked who was in charge she stated the owner. She stated he already knows how rude he is, but he gets the job done. I suggested to her he should rethink his approach to that since he may find himself in court having to deal with employee lawsuits. I will now take my items to the transfer station. I myself will not help any business that knowingly allows an individual to treat others like that. read more
