We took this cruise ship to take an Alaskan Cruise. It was an older design but the ship is getting refurbished next year. The crew was absolutely amazing and the food was great. My complaints would revolve around the smaller gym and the disorganized and chaotic buffet. If they fixed both of those, we would be much more impressed with the ship. read more

I really didn't want to cruise on a ship that hasn't been remodeled but I read the reviews and we went to Alaska mid September. The weather was gorgeous and the sea was like glass. The ship was lovely and everyone could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The only thing that needs to be updated is the movie theater screen and seats and the seats in the main theater which were worn out and some broken. The rest of the ship was beautiful and well maintained. Most of the food was really good considering they have to feed 2000 plus people 3 meals a day. Overall the deserts were pretty bad which is a good thing considering your eating about 4 times the food you normally consume in one day. We enjoyed all the speciality restaurants and the main dining room. The French one was the best along with the petite chef which was a dining show, very cute. The Buffett was hit and miss . The pizza and salad bar was the best for me and mom liked the lox for breakfast on the Buffett. The sushi was really good too. We went twice. Getting on and off the ship for excursions was so easy and fast except for the last day getting off the ship . It took time and patience. All and all we had a great time and would go with celebrity again. We booked with Shirley Torrez our flight, hotel in Seattle, and cruise and she was fantastic! She works for celebery cruise line and got us insured for everything at one low price in case we had to cancel. The most disappointing thing for me was the blue room. We payed extra to be able to dine there . We had one breakfast and one dinner and the food was the worst on the entire ship. We never wanted to go back. The coffee bar and martini bar was exceptional and so was Johnston our room steward. read more

"Go, fly, cruise, roam, travel, voyage, explore, journey, discover, adventure." After a short hiatus in traveling, once again the travel bug found it's way back to me. Certainly overdue still definitely prepared for life's new adventures. Having cruised on other ships such as Princess, Holland America, NCL, Royal Carribean, Carnival, this cruise would mark by seventh but a first on Celebrity. With Princess being my top favorite, Celebrity is close as my second choice. Everything about this cruise I loved from the ship itself, all the amenities, the staff, the food, the photography, just everything I loved. My better and I stayed in a suite with an outdoor balcony and we had such a great time. It was nice being pampered everyday for 14 days on our trip. I especially love how everything is done for you when all you want to do is travel and relax. Love. Love. Love. read more

Fantastic service. Fatima in house keeping g and James in our dinning room were outstanding. The boat is in great shape. Really elegant and clean. Our excursion were not good. Juneau we did the menehal glacier and tram up the hill. It was rushed and not worth the time or money. Take the tram on your own. The rain forrest was also not worth it. It was a short hike. Invest in your excursions by researching and pick carefully what you want. read more

I tried transferring a reservation I could no longer attend for an emergency. It was the worst customer experience I have ever experience. I just wanted to move my date to another date; Celebrity would not let me because it was after the Final pay by date -- I sat with customer service going back and forth to the "resolutions department" for 1 hr and 30 minutes to be told they could only give me 25% of my 6K back. It is a complete joke! I will never sail with Celebrity again! RUN to Norwegian or Royal! This would have been my second cruise with Celebrity and the first was nothing to brag about. You can find it much better with better customer service! read more

The entire Crew was outstanding. Capt Theo and the crew, the Singers, Dancers, Orchestra, Eddy the cruise Director were the best! The dining crew were amazing as well. Special Shout outs to- Raj at Murano, Hayden at Tuscan, Nelcris our Stateroom Concierge. The bartenders at World Class Bar - Bahli and Suji were World Class. Arboy and "The Russian " at Cellar Master are Masters of the trade. Finally, Angelo and Elmer at the Oceanview Cafe were bright as sunshine every morning ready with our Bloody Mary and Pinnapple Mimosa. The 10 Star award goes to Dian and the hostess at Sushi at 5. This first of September Alaskan vacation was the first cruise since our Caribbean honeymoon 43 years ago. We picked a winner. Well, actually my brother and S-I-L, frequent Celebrity customers asked my wife and I to go. Five stars is one thing but I'd like to hand out some kudos to the Captain, his crew, Eddy and his assistant, all of the ship's behind the scenes administration and help, but most of all the staff who put together every scrumptious meal and delightful drink. I'd like to commend Kuntal and his chefs, Dining room host Emmanuel, Star (Sommelier), her #1-Reynaldo, and most of all Pande and and his assistant Mande who were tireless in their politeness and attentiveness to our needs, requests, suggestions, and the never ending questions from our circular table!!! This was our first cruise since our honeymoon in 1980 and it exceeded expectations! Especially the service in the Grand Epernay dining room. Pande and all the dining room staff, including Star, the cellar master, were friendly, efficient, and on point every evening. Cruises are great vacations. It's very true. The ability to wake up in a new location every day without having to drive yourself is appealing, as well as the constant service and pampering one can expect on a cruise line like Celebrity. So why the three stars? I'll list it out. 1. Service. By far the best part of the experience for me, at least on this ship. Our stateroom attendant was the best we have had yet. Damiao was extremely sweet, remembering our names, our excursions, our schedules- we saw him in the hallway every day, and while our room was always pristine, we never saw him inside. Our dining hall servers were also excellent. Alexander and Josselle were incredible. They quickly picked up on our different tastes, and made recommendations based on those, hitting spot on every time. We were never thirsty, with waters being regularly filled (I hate being dehydrated on vacations) and their partnered sommalier was great with her suggestions and pairings. Not to mention, the food was delicious every night. 2. The crew and staff: all wonderful. I have to have coffee and tea throughout the day, even at home, and the staff were always nice. The bartenders, while almost always busy, we're friendly and accommodating. The crew, as little as we saw them, were always busy, but greeted any guest they saw. 3. The shopping. I have mixed feelings. On one hand, you're on a boat, so there can't be a giant amount of variety. Plus, we were on an Alaskan cruise, so most clothing sold was meant to be warming more than anything. The biggest complaint I have about the shopping experience- the art. Seriously. They are all prints. Nothing original. 10+ celebrity cruises, and there hasn't been much difference between all the ships. I wish I was joking, but I've seen the same landscapes and dancers and other such pieces so many times. 4. The ship itself- I mean, for a ten year old ship it's fine. The lack of outlets date it a little (and considering only one of the two outlets worked on our stateroom didn't help). Regular maintenance was helpful, and it was always clean. But it might be time to work on the rooms a bit. 5. The sales pitches. While it's not nearly as bad as other cruises *cough royal Caribbean cough* I don't want to be bombarded with making a dinner reservation or buying a drink package or internet package on the first day. Just let me get on the boat and get to my room. I'm tired from travelling. I hate flying, I just want to get out of my grimey clothes, take a shower, and have a minute to process that I am indeed on vacation. 6. This is both singular to this ship and applicable to every celebrity cruise- don't do the specialty restaurants. We have never had a good experience, but this last cruise took the cake- not in a good way either. So we had reservations at Murano for two at 9. We arrived at 8:55 to learn that our reservation was on delay. I can understand people not leaving, but seriously- don't take walk ins or extra reservations if you don't have the seating. Finally, 25 minutes past our slot, we were seated, and ordered the first four courses from the "Five Senses" menu. Because usually, dessert is ordered after the other courses have been finished. (A little side note, only two of the dishes we ordered were on the a la carte menu. Safe to assume we were definitely doing the five senses selection.) The meal was flavourless-ly mediocre at best until the Anjou pear dish. Some kind of pastry, but with pear and Roquefort cheese, it quite seriously tasted and chewed like styrofoam. When the manager came by to take our plates, he noticed that only a few bites had been taken (two from me, one by hubby). When I complained, I was told I hadn't acquired the taste. When hubby confirmed my complaint, the response was "Thank you for the feedback, sir." I'm sorry, but a manager taking only my husband's opinion and ignoring mine? No. Not acceptable. When confronted, the manager then raised his voice to my husband, and was dismissive. We never did get an apology from him, though we were sent a consolation dessert to our room from the overall restaurant manager after complaining (for the first time ever) at guest services. P.s. it was bland too. While hubby and I love going on cruises, this particular ship has left a bad taste in our mouths for celebrity, and we are looking at other cruise lines for the next few vacations. read more

We just returned from a 7 day cruise on the solstice in the wonderful Alaska! It was way more than I had expected! The wait staff was great and the food was always top notch. Our cabin caretaker was always available and assisted us where ever possible. Capt Alex gave us daily updates on what was up during the day and the entertainment was great ! Gotta review this ship. I headed on the Solstice for a seven night cruise back in late June/early July. I loved every part of it. The service aboard the ship was incredible. Almost every single crew member I met was friendly and helpful. The food onboard was pretty good. The main dining hall was fancy, with meals that probably would be extraordinarily expensive on shore (think Titanic). The Oceanview Cafe had a more relaxed feel to it. It offered every type of food I could imagine, and was open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The design of the ship was beautiful. I loved the atrium, with its open air design. I was aboard the ship on the 4th of July, and we had a huge party. Strangely, we had that party's the day we were to arrive in Victoria . Our cabin felt small, but well appointed. The closet had a lot of space. We stayed with a couple of other groups, so we got a deck triple the size of a normal stateroom. All of the public spaces were wonderful. The indoor pool was warm, and surprisingly empty. The cafe right next to that pool also had the best noodles I've ever had. The gym, at the front of the boat, was huge. Tip: try to get onto the deck in front of the gym. The view is incredible. The outdoor pool was large. I didn't actually swim in it, but it looked awesome. The lawn in the back of the ship was also a great place to kick back. In all, this ship was amazing on every level. When I walked out the door for the last time, I almost felt like crying. This ship was wonderful, and one of the best experiences of my life. read more
