The flight itself was exciting and the crew was friendly, but I have to be honest about what we actually got vs. what was advertised. The DTLA Tour description clearly lists Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood Sign, and Dodger Stadium as part of the route. These were the main reasons I booked this tour. We flew on June 10, 2026, and none of these landmarks were included. When I asked the pilot mid-flight why we were turning back, he said he thought we wanted to turn around at Downtown. I grew up always visiting the Compton airport and it really helped shape my future as I am now an aerospace engineer. Celebrity helicopter tours from Compton Woodley Airport was super easy to book and available for any questions I had. When we went on the tour, we learned so much about the beautiful city of Compton and the amazing community; including celebrities that live in the area! After the tour we got to see some epic helicopters and military jets from the TAM museum!! (Museum is currently temporarily closed, but they have some vehicles left from its heyday). Booked this for a birthday surprise on January 13th. Emailed to cancel and requested refund on January 16th. I mentioned possibly re-booking at a later date and Robin said I should just leave the money there until I re-book. I wasn't comfortable with that and wanted my money credited back. Multiple emails and phone calls to get my refund processed. Was told it was going to happen and still nothing. Really poor way of doing business...and I was thinking about re-booking with them in the future, but now I'm not. Today is January 23rd. I purchased an aerobatic Stearman biplane flight from this company in November for flight date in January. The flight was canceled shortly before the date of the flight (understandable, given the fires and winds in LA at the time). Since then, I have tried to contact them for a refund via telephone, text message, and email. I have had no response have been essentially ghosted. From some of the other low-star reviews here and elsewhere, I am not the only one who's had this problem. Their website explicitly states "If we cancel your flight, you will receive a 100% refund." His staff was very friendly as well. I surprised my boyfriend with the LA City Tour and did an upgrade. The champagne was very strong so you are truly getting a bang for your buck. I booked everything online. I got there and check in was very easy. We did wait a bit past our appointment time but not too long. We were escorted to our helicopter. They took a picture for us. It's possible we got an upgrade. It seemed better than what I saw online, I forgot our pilots name unfortunately, but he was very friendly and his commentary during the flight was very relevant, he was pretty cool. My wife took me here for my birthday, and it was such a great experience. The people were great, and you can tell they take pride in what they do. We literally had the Red Carpet treatment. Edgar took great photos of us before our flight. He's a legit photographer too, so the photos he took were great. Robin was our pilot. He presented himself so well, and he definitely dressed for a Red Carpet event. We flew over the South Bay area. Compton, PV, Pedro, and over the beaches along the coast. The flight was enjoyable, and the conversations and stories we all shared were amazing. I've been a resident of the area for a long time, and some people get weird about the location being in Compton, but places like Celebrity Helicopter dispels the already wrongful assumptions of Compton. I booked and paid for a private helicopter ride, only to be told at the very last minute that two more passengers would be joining us. No explanation, no apology . just a blatant move to squeeze more money out of the same flight. This completely ruined the experience we were promised.
