I arrived a couple of minutes early and Laura was finishing up a man's haircut. He and his buddy were finishing up (complimentary) beer. They appeared to really enjoy the place. Laura did a hot neck shave when she finished the gentleman's cut - apparently that is included with all men's cuts. The place is very cool. The decor is super retro, but not junky at all. The chairs are huge and comfortable. This is a barber shop, but she does offer other services, too. I went in for a color and cut. I showed Laura pictures of what I was hoping for, acknowledging that my hair wasn't quite the length or color of the girl in the photos I asked Laura her thoughts on doing something similar. She didn't even hesitate and was very confident. Laura is easy to chat with and super laid back. When Laura finished with my hair I was VERY pleased with the results. She clearly listened to what I wanted and was able to make it a reality. I arrived a little early and was warmly greeted. My nail tech, Melissa, was just finishing with the client at her station and let me know it would be a few minutes, which I fully expected. When I got into the chair, the water temp was perfect, the chair was comfy, and the conversation was pleasant. Melissa did a great job on my feet - I felt so pampered! And, on an upcoming trip to Arizona, I was able to comfortably and confidently wear sandals because my toes were so cute! I will 100% go back to see Melissa again. In fact, knowing I have a go-to tech at a clean, comfortable salon may encourage me to do so more often.

As with anything some technicians are better than others. The technician I used to like the best in the past has left. For the most part they seem "bored" and don't try overly hard to do a good job. Also, when you book online the price that is quoted is not the price you get charged. I booked a "deluxe pedicure" and the description online said gel polish was included. I got charged an extra $10.00 for the gel at checkout. Could I have argued? yes, but it wasn't worth arguing over it so I just paid it and left. I always tip them too, even though they're mediocre. I've been there enough that I feel like they'd be more mediocre if I didn't tip. I feel like it used to be nicer here and now it's low average.
