I was able to get an appointment with relatively short notice. Shannon explained her style so I knew what to expect. She also asked how it was going once we got underway and adjusted the pressure per my request. Great service. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Shannon G.

I was born right here in Waterloo, IA, a graduate of East High School. I attended Iowa State University, where I received my bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. While attending Iowa State, I spent a summer living in China, where I traveled and practiced my Mandarin. After college, I moved to Chicago, and then to Las Vegas, where I spent over ten years living there, working as a cook and a chef in the casino industry. I have taught cooking classes here locally, and have done restaurant consultation. My ultimate dream, however, has always been to be a massage therapist. Chefs feed your belly and your soul, but massage therapists, we get to help people on a whole other level. I moved back to the Cedar Valley, permanently, in November of 2015. That's when I decided it was time to pursue my dream of becoming a therapist.

I tend to get very stiff shoulders, neck and accompanying headaches. I always communicate this information when I go to get a massage, but it's not at all unusual that I feel like I've just gotten the "Standard" massage and not much attention was paid to the primary reason I went in. That was definitely not the case here! Shannon was warm, friendly and inviting, as well as knowledgeable. She listened carefully, asked a number of questions and then proceeded to provide the best damn massage I've ever received in my life! She payed special attention to all the areas I noted, going though a wide variety of differing techniques. I actually felt looser in the problem areas without a lot of soreness afterwards. You may think just "feeling looser" doesn't constitute a good massage but of the 30-40 I've gotten, including ones the were considerably more expensive, I can only recall 3 (including this one) where that was the case. It was so well done that I actually scheduled another prior to leaving without any solicitation to do so. I would highly recommend her without any reservation whatsoever. She did an amazing job! read more

I had a wonderful and relaxing massage here. I was welcomed to a warm and inviting environment and was made to feel comfortable from the very beginning. Shannon, the massage therapist is very intuitive and gentle. Her foot massage almost sends you to another world. After the massage she gave me plenty of feedback, and gave suggestions about how to keep my shoulders and back more relaxed. The online scheduling was very helpful in finding a time in my busy schedule that worked for me. I was a bit nervous because I don't get messages very often, but I was glad went to Frequency Massage. I look forward to going back. Thanks Shannon! read more

What a great massage! I have arthritis and usually have a very hard time relaxing. Shannon makes you feel at ease. And her studio is so inviting. She is very welcoming and also explains everything that will be happening. I highly recommend having your next massage done by Shannon. read more
