Our A/C has been broken for about 3 weeks now and they haven't done much to fix the problem. Because of that, our electricity bill has doubled. It is $200 for a tiny apartment and we have barley been running anything so it's definitely because of our broken A/C (not to mention it's 100 degrees outside) There is also a horrible smell coming from our attic making the until smell horrendous. From the get-go, Shannon the Manager was readily available to help and answer all questions. We lived 5 hours away therefore could only work via email and phone through the application process. She answered all of our questions in a timely manner. As for living there, we thought it truly was a hidden gem in Colfax. The apartments are more like townhomes and are tucked inside of a cove of trees. It's lovely. They still are apartments so you still will hear your neighbors although it's not terrible and generally very quiet and peaceful. Also, the very few minor maintenance issues that we had, Shannon and the maintenance personnel were super quick to resolve them and were very commutative. We appreciated that. Regarding our deposit, we maintained a clean apartment during the time that we lived there and followed all the detailed instructions of what they wanted cleaned before we left. As a result, we did receive our entire deposit back minus the carpet cleaning fee that we chose to have deducted in order for them to take care of. My husband and I would highly recommend the Cedars Apartments to anyone considering living there. We're certain that you will not be disappointed.

Susan, our…read moreon-site manager, quickly schedules any maintenance issues which arise outside the normal weekly routine. The grounds are maintained by a landscaping crew as well as a pool man. The property is located one block from an elementary school and about 3-4 blocks from downtown. Small pets are allowed. The residents are very friendly. A playground/picnic area is available for daily use or for family gatherings or celebrations by reservation. It is a non-smoking facility. Apartments are two or three bedroom, some with washer and dryer area although there is a laundromat on premises. Rents are competitive for the area. This is a well .maintained and desirable facility.

The complex is very convenient to schools and downtown. There is a little fenced area for kids to play, and a small pool. HOWEVER, the apartment complex has suffered since Ferguson and Brewer took over as the management company. Routine maintenance is done less frequently. The complex is noisier. And a HUGE ISSUE since the last winter storm is that Ferguson and Brewer did not hire anyone to clear the paths from the apartments to the parking lot, nor was the parking lot ever plowed. This has led to very icy conditions - residents have to do their own shoveling, and have even put old rugs out on the paths to keep from slipping when walking to the cars. Some residents' cars are still snowed in. As the snow melts during the day and then freezes during the night, more ice is created. This is dangerous. SHAME on you Ferguson and Brewer. My elderly parent lives at the complex and I've seen the paths and the parking lot on a recent visit. If someone falls and injures themselves, can you say LAWSUIT? Because that's what you're looking at, due to your negligence.

I did have some issues with one particular neighbor, and Jen (manager) always handled things with professionalism and care. I love all the people who live here, and I especially adore the dog friendly atmosphere! It's a great place to take walks with my children, ride bikes with the kids, walk your dog, lounge at the beautiful pool or just hang out in your backyard patio. Management here is exceptionally caring and accommodating, and I think this is one of the most important aspects of living in a comfortable, safe and peaceful complex.

Unless you hire professional services and provide receipts for the services like (carpet cleaning, Window cleaning and mini blind cleaning) which will end up costing you your deposit anyway, you might as well hand it to them and forget about it. I cleaned the place and shampooed the carpet twice and left it actually in better condition that they gave it to my poor elderly mom (76) who is clean freak herself. The office manager still deducted over $200 for cleaning because I did it myself and didn't provide a professional service with receipts. BE AWARE! That is what I call a total rip off especially when she knew we left the place cleaner than we had it when my mom moved in...Office Manage is NOT easy to work with at ALL and NOT flexible at all. I've been searching everywhere for a safe two bedroom for my family and I found it here. From the…read moremoment I called in, to the moment I stepped foot on the property, I could tell that this was it. Misty was so friendly and made me feel welcome right away. She was able to answer all of my questions and provide me with the recommendations I needed. I also noticed that the grounds were maintained and they even had a communal garden area. I can't wait to move in later this year when my home sells. Auburn has my heart and this feels right at home.
