I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding the condition of the property I recently purchased through Debs Agency When I first attended the open house, the home appeared well-kept and in excellent condition. I truly loved the house and was excited about the prospect of making it my new home. However, I was completely unprepared for the issues that arose after my offer was accepted and the sale was finalized.
Before moving in, we had the home inspected, and certain repairs were requested to be completed by the seller. Upon arrival on December 11th, we were extremely disappointed to find that the house had not been cleaned as agreed upon. The level of filth left behind was unacceptable, as demonstrated by the photos attached. Additionally, numerous issues were evident that had not been disclosed prior to closing:
* Nails were left in the walls, and the brand-new carpet was already dirty.
* A car charging station, which was neither disclosed nor permitted, was discovered. We are still working with the seller on this matter, but the resolution process has been frustratingly slow.
* There were 22 light fixtures in the house, yet upon arrival, we found exposed hanging wires. During the open house, all the lights were operational, but when we attempted to replace a light, the breaker immediately shut down. We managed to restore power temporarily, but on Christmas Eve, half the house was without electricity. The situation was so alarming that we felt unsafe sleeping upstairs and instead stayed downstairs in case of a potential fire hazard.
Thankfully, we were able to hire an electrician to fix the breaker and restore safety to the home, but the stress and anxiety caused by this situation have been significant. While I cannot definitively prove that the seller was aware of these electrical issues, it seems highly suspicious that a single light was left in a non-functioning state.
Furthermore, Deb had mentioned the beautiful plantation shutters in the listing. However, upon closer inspection, they were extremely dirty, and the other blinds throughout the house were broken. This issue was never disclosed, nor did I think to check each window covering during the walkthrough. The overall lack of transparency has left me feeling misled and frustrated.
We attempted to address these concerns with the agent, but our calls were ignored. Because Deb facilitated the sale on behalf of her brother, she has shown no interest in resolving these matters, adopting a "sale completed, move on" attitude. This is highly unprofessional and, in my opinion, unethical behavior from a real estate agent. A responsible and ethical agent should be willing to address legitimate post-sale concerns rather than completely disengaging from their clients once the deal is finalized read more
