My wife and I called The Ridge home for a number of years, and we're so glad we found them. The units are newly renovated and updated, and the facility is managed by a great company. They are always timely and attentive, constantly ensuring that the community is taken care of. Maintenance is never an issue; their team has always called me within a day, and they're out promptly fixing whatever the issue is. The units are always inspected annually, and is always maintained. The price is well worth the peace of mind knowing the unit you'll be stepping into is fresh and modern, and the management team is always just an email away. We've made so many memories here at The Ridge-- now you can make yours.

I did have some issues with one particular neighbor, and Jen (manager) always handled things with professionalism and care. I love all the people who live here, and I especially adore the dog friendly atmosphere! It's a great place to take walks with my children, ride bikes with the kids, walk your dog, lounge at the beautiful pool or just hang out in your backyard patio. Management here is exceptionally caring and accommodating, and I think this is one of the most important aspects of living in a comfortable, safe and peaceful complex.

The interior is horrendous, its very dirty and it smells of garbage and cigarette smoke. The carpet is completely stained, soiled and smelly. There are shopping carts everywhere, it looks like a homeless parking lot along with the homeless smells. The laundry rooms are nasty too. I spoke to a couple residents and they claim they only live there for the low rent. They had countless complaints for the staff, especially the maintenance. Things go very long without repair or never get repaired. There are abandoned cars out front. Residents also mentioned that after a resident dies, if their property isn't claimed then other residents get to take whatever they want. This is the most disgusting apartment complex I've ever seen.

All apartment are accessed from the inside. They have a manager and maintenance staff on site. The staff member was very professional and helpful and gave me an application. I think there was a waiting list, but it wasn't too long from what I recall. She, unfortunately, could not show me an apartment, since none were vacant. But I did see the communal rooms and laundry room. I think they serve meals there if you want to pay extra. There is also ample parking. It is basically in a commercial area, on a residential side street, with a Social Security Administration office, Safeway, Bel Air (grocery store), Starbucks, Little Caesar's, McDonald's, and Wienerschnitzel nearby. That is good for the population, but also is potentially bad, since if you have a car, that could be vandalized or burglarized by people passing by. Be forewarned: it's gets very hot in the summer in this area, since it is basically Center Valley, with temperatures going into the 100's sometimes, and in the 90's most other times. The site is run by Volunteers of America (VOA), which is well known for running excellent facilities and having good, competent, and caring staff. From what I saw, I would be happy to live here.

First off, the manager, Sandy, was both very pleasant and professional and made the whole move-in experience a transparent and very efficient one. She has been the manager here for almost 20 years. My apartment was huge and very clean. The Maintenance Man on site, Jeff, introduced himself and put in grab bars per my request and installed a very nice hand held shower device...he even offered to throw out my unpacked boxes something the maintenance staff at SHRA would never do because it would go beyond their scope of responsibilities. This is a quiet, clean environment where all of the tenants are friendly, helpful and RESPECTFUL!! As a convenience to the tenants there is a trash receptical area on each of the three floors, Laundry facility open 24/7 at .75 to wash and .75 to dry, and hot lunch meals served 5 days a week in the community/cafeteria area. I would recommend highly this particular senior complex because of all of the aforementionedf reasons.

Perhaps my favorite experience here is the fact that we have deer that come on the property as well as turkeys. From my apartment I can see them almost every day, which is a delightful experience. The apartment itself is very nice and adequate for most of my needs. The one thing I feel that it needs is more storage--there is none onsite, and these apartments cannot be any smaller, therefore one feels cramped up at times and forced to rent storage space or to live with your clutter. There are plenty of opportunities to interact with the residents, if that is what you like to do, and this ability mitigates somewhat the cramped living conditions that you have to endure.
