Poor customer service. Bought some extra material because their batch of 2x8x16 were pretty rough. Ended up with a few extra boards but would not let me return because it exceeded more than 10% of the purchase amount. Super stupid and they didn't care to do anything about it to help me out. Would not return in the future. Super frustrating as I have been buying cedar here a long time and have spent many thousands of dollars. Going to have to find a new supplier that values customer service.. See picture of splitting boards they wouldn't take back... read more

Cedar Products - Building Supplies Near Me - Bremerton, Washington

Seems the lumber quality of the fencing has dropped, and you must consider a 20% or higher waste factor for unusable stock due to their no select policy. The owner's daughter gets real snotty also. Wait for the guys to help you as they are much more friendly. read more

I purchased 6 pieces (1-bundle) of 8" bevel siding for a repair needed on my house. When I opened the bundle to make my repairs 2 out of the 6 were so damaged that I could not use them. I called to ask about returning these for ones that were undamaged. I was told I could not return them unless I brought back the full bundle. When I told them 4 of the pieces were already installed, they said I was out of luck & were rude in their response. I have done numerous project (fences & decks) with them in the past & was surprised by this response & wondered if they have new ownership. I WILL NOT RETURN & WILL DRIVE TO TACOMA OR SEATTLE IF NEEDED TO AVOID THIS TREATMENT. read more

Went to Cedar Products this past weekend and had a great experience. Traveled from Bellevue, WA looking at their website at their pricing. I went there and was also impressed by their quality. They were very helpful and I was there looking at some other products for later in my project and they knew their stuff. A great atmosphere that feels like a true family run business. I am sure I will be there again for my project and will continue to make the long drive since it is TOTALLY worth it. read more

My neighbor and I both gone here too get wood for our fence never had an issue When we stopped here on our way home from town

Purchased 300 "premium" 1x6x6 fencing. No selection ability at pick up. 60 defective and then told can only exchange 10 percent. Basically had to eat 30 of them. read more

This place used to be great now not so much. Needed to purchase lumber, but they do not let you select your number at all. You take it right off the top no matter the condition of the wood sales woman was unfriendly and not helpful. read more

With Covid I understand that product selection may be poor. This was definitely the case the last two times I stopped in. The reason for this rating however, is the very poor customer service that I received today. I was doing my best to sort through the lumber to find usable pieces. A young kid either stood there or sat there and watched me do this with his hands in his pocket never offering to help. I have Benchley asked him to do so in with that he's kept his hands in his pocket and start kicking some boards around saying oh it looks like there's a piece down there on the end you might be able to use. Again never taking his hands out of his pockets. After I rang up my purchase,I shouldn't have been surprised that he didn't offer to load up my truck. Again, he just stood there watching me load up with his hands in his pockets. read more

Nancy O here, i love this place, every time i have been up there they are very nice and helpful, and if your buying #2 product like fence board, they have been really good compared to the box stores... I am going up again which is like my only cedar store, the product and service is good.. They can't help we are in a time when lumber is very hard to come by yet they manage to keep very good prices.... So i give them a 10... Yes i have gotten one or two board with a bad end but there is always a place i find to use... So don't knock a good thing... Few years back i purchased 100 of their fence panels and they are still in use this day around my little gentle women tree farm.. thank You cedar products.. I be up in a day or two for a bunch more... Sincerely nancy o. South hill, Puyallup read more

I have been there many times and is the local destination for Cedar if you don't want to have to drive to Tacoma. The premade fence panels are great for a quick out of site fence at the right price, but aren't pretty. There is a lot of pretty lumber to choose from, but you need to pick through a bit to find the good stuff. Staff is hit and miss on helpfulness, but if you know what you're doing, it's pretty easy to navigate. read more

Seriously, it's a convenient place to get budget lumber. If you're going to be a whiny bitch, shop elsewhere, I like these guys.

This is by far the worst lumber yard I've ever been to! You cannot choose wood to buy, you take whatever they give you... and most of it is unusable if you do any kind of quality building. When I wanted to just measure to see if I could work around the defects in the wood for a specific project I was told I couldn't pick through the lumber! I was willing to buy some of the crap they had if I could salvage enough out of each board to do the job but was basically called on the carpet for doing it by the yard worker there. Who does that to a customer!? I ended up just walking away frustrated and angry for the wasted time at a joke of a business! read more

What a joke!!! Two weeks ago i made a purchace of cedar boards for inside trim. The yard worker was friendly, and let us pick out some nice wood. Two weeks latter I show up to purchace the same wood, and a different yard worker informs me that I need to take half of the wood I sort. Most of the boards had huge cracks, or insect trails. I am not going to take half of what wood i would never buy!!! Now i have half of my house remodel done, and, i have to find a new wood distributor. He informed me that the first yard worker was a rookie, the first yard worker told me he had worked for, over three years!!! So, they are not honest, and have junk wood. The price looks good, but you wont be able to use half it. Expensive fire wood if you ask me! One star because i have to! read more

We were lured in by their price on 1X6 6 foot cedar fence boards. Those were No 2 and were very poor, so we went with "No 1" for .60 cents more. There was about a 15% rate of junk in those. Barely had enough good ones to finish my fence. Never again. read more

Great place. Came to get boards for fencing. They explained the 2 choices for 1x6 ...defects with holes and cracked boards or small to no defects. 2.19 1.29 for the defects. I needed 112 boards looking at what the boards looked like I choose the boards for1.29 and bought 4 extra. Fence looks Great! Big box wanted 1.00 more for same boards! read more

Great place to get cedar boards, really god prices and easy to deal with. really love the old building they have.

Dont listen to the other post who clearly is blaming the poor work ethic of the new working generation vise the quality of cedar materials they offer in our community. I have built many decks, fences, sidings etc over the years and i Always am a return customer. read more

Low prices but prepare for unhappy workers. Some are rude, yell, swear, spit, smoke and ignore you, especially if you are a woman. One of the workers was helpful but the poor guy is keeping his head down. read more

I seen there add on Craigslist http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/mad/4554392344.html and there web sight. I wanted to buy 1x6x6 cedar fence boards for $1.45 as advertised . They have 5/8x6x6 cedar boards with cracks, large knot holes and spots of rot forming. Once you get there they pull a tactic called " straight run " which is they will load you with the number of boards in stacks " you get what you get " . As I seen it, one in three boards will be defective. Just beware you get what you pay for. I went to LOWES! read more

Bait and switch operation. Their web site shows a photo of nice 1x6x6' cedar fence material at $1.29 each. Arriving at their place of business the top of the stack of material at this price contains a high percentage of split and poor quality pieces. Their price for the material in the photo is $1.99 each. read more
