BEWARE: NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE STUPID AND MAY KILL YOU; SHE IS THE BEST IN A PROVEN SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENT AGAINST ANOTHER AUSTIN, TEXAS PERIO. TL;DR: Second opinion conflicted, but Dr. Vemulapalli got implant tooth and gums from 9 to 2 on 10 point scale in four months; saved 6700$; no surgery for new implant needed. Some reviewers focus on aesthetic catering or vibes. These people are stupid and their vanity may kill you in your dental care. I am an Ivy League lawyer. My job is to discern talent in the most high stakes, billion dollar lawsuits. And I'm going to give you data that, when you need the best care, YOU MUST TRUST DR. VEMULAPALLI IN CENTRAL TEXAS. 1. My dentist mishandled my cleanings every four months religiously around my decade old implant. He recommended two periodontists. 2. The gums around my implant were a 9 out of 10 (3 being standard good health, 10 being catastrophe). 3. The first periodontist, who ALLEGEDLY IN MY OPINION AND NOT A STATEMENT OF FACT had a medical board finding of losing some office opioid pills a decade earlier, recommended removing the implant over multiple surgeries and installing a new one. This periodontist did not recognize a teaching professor who did the initial implant who stated my mouth shape was complex (n.b. teaching professors are the gold standard in medical care because they teach the next generation of surgeons). 4. Dr. Vemulapalli had better, state of the art equipment. She did more diagnostic reviews rather than the "gut check" of the first surgeon. Better equipment means better diagnostic skills. 5. Dr. Vemulapalli is board certified; the other perio in Austin was not. Board certified is the gold standard. It requires a commitment to ongoing learning and best practices verification. For example, Dr. Vemulapalli correctly identified recent peer review publications that CHLORODEX, which the other perio represented actually impedes gum health and the better state of the art practice of glyceme with antiobitcs has a better synergistic effect. And she's right! (Google the studies.) 6. Dr. Vemulapalli, like Malcom Gladwell's BLINK, was making millions of calculations a second and explained her reasoning. This seems minor but it is important! The patient must be their own best advocate. Dr. Vemulapalli will provide her best judgment, but we must apply our values and risk tolerance to form a good partnership. Dr. Vemulapalli explaining her calculations enabled that partnership; the other perio did not. 7. When doing the moderate intervention of reviewing my mouth, stopped to talked to me. The periohygienist then shouted, "23!" and Dr. Vemulapalli repeated to confirm "23!" This seems stupid. It's not. It's an important medical/scientific/engineering concept called "Double point of failure". When building rocket ships or doing surgery, having two people confirm every item is checked means a tooth or a safety valve isn't missed. Rather than relying on one person's memory, the vicious vigilance of protocols, even on something small like which tooth was next to be examined, shows Dr. Vemulapalli instituted the best practice of Double Point Of Failure to prevent malpractice and ensure there were always redundancies to ensure everything was handled correctly. You can infer from that militarized excellence in something simple applies to all sorts of things; paperwork (always responsive), cleaning tools (the office is immaculate), training, etc. 8. Dr. Vemulapalli recommended a deep cleaning and debridement because the tooth was "ailing, not failing". When she did the cleaning, she and the periohygienist started tapping my shoulder and making cute little noises. Weird right? No. It's actually a medical best practice that is used in animal training. When you have to inject a shot into someone (or animal!), by tapping them you help their nervous system stay present and distract them from the injection. Genius. THAT LEVEL OF CARE is not about vanity or vibes, that shows a deep, rich care for the dignity and quality of the person. Think of most medical practicioners? Do they care about your parasympathetic state when they draw blood or give you a shot? No, of course not. But Dr. Vemulapalli does because she cares and is the best. 9. At my two month check up, my gums went from 9-4. She recommend an amazing dentist who had a periohygienist. She partnered brilliantly with that dentist to come up with a care routine. 10. At my four month check up, my gums went from 4-2. That's better than the gold standard of 3. Dr. Vemulapalli cares. Not in the irrelevant way of vibes. In the way of ensuring the best medical care. In the way of implementing double points of failure to prevent malpractice. In the way of being board certified and doing millions of calculations as a Wellesley/Harvard genius. read more

BEWARE: DO NOT GO Good reviews on Google do not seem legit! dentist Vemulapalli charged me $4630 for 1 implant (without the crown) I would have NEVER gotten my treatment from her had I known all she cared about is money and gave me a very wrong estimate in the consultation which was $1560! They refused to my post op because I have a 200 balance while I had already paid so much money!!!!!! Dentist put me in operating chair, gave 2 shots of anesthesia in my tooth - then she made me sign for another $1340 over my initial estimate (+$1560) of out of pocket while I was in the operating chair without which she said she cannot proceed. she is Extorting money! All this dentist cares about is Money!!!! FYI, I had visited her a week before implant surgery to get my previous bone graft checked - why did she not find out then that more bone graft is required and tell me beforehand rather than ask for money after giving me anesthesia??? With the implant she said she added another bone graft which she only completed in 5 minutes! How much work is humanly possible in 5 minutes? And how much bone graft can 1 tooth need.. it's a mole size thing and she took $4630 tor that. read more

With 40 years of customer service experience and an ex secret shopper. I have listened to my wife complain as she went from dentist to dentist and took our kids to various dentist until settling. She had some horror stories. Same here in my recent history with dentist. Well Dr. Pali is quite the opposite. Dr. Pali and her office are rock stars. They are all consummate patient advocates. Dr. Pali leads by example. She puts together a plan of action and walks you through it and does not speak down to you or over your head. Dr. Pali should package her approach to periodontal care and share it with her peers. Also, her passion for her profession is not robotic but really comes through as she herself said she was a Periodontal Nerd. I highly recommend Dr. Pali and her amazing staff. I've had a lot of work done over the years and just had my last procedure done recently. We all know that going into any kind of surgery can be scary but Dr Pali and her staff made me feel at ease before, during and after every surgery. They all communicated with me and set the right expectations for everything. I am very happy with the work she's done and now I feel better about my smile. She's easy to talk to and will take the time to pause and answer any questions you have. She's kind and genuine and will make you feel very comfortable. Her staff is fantastic as well! I wish I could have given a '0' to her if that was available. I had a horrible experience with Dr Vemulapalli. I thought she had the worst bedside manners and she made me feel so uncomfortable. I went for my deep cleaning and she was not at all empathetic and was so rude right from the beginning. The one who was supporting her, may be one of the hygienist, Jen, I guess was her name, was nice and caring but, Dr Vemulapalli was not. I had deep cleaning done before, but never faced such behavior. I agree I have shot-phobia and being a doc she should be able to deal with all that. I cannot stop crying now. DO NOT DO NOT USE THIS PERIODONTICS This office is not efficient and they are incompetent, I did pay Dr. Prathima Vemulapalli the full balance, but I will never use her again or recommend her. On 08//18/20 when I arrived at Dr. Prathima Vemulapalli's office, they took me back and prep me for dental surgery. Dr. Prathima Vemulapalli walked in and immediately started giving me a lecture in a rude tone of voice she said that I did not follow her instructions; this is not a true statement. I did contact Dr. Sura's office but because of the cost, the appointment with Dr. Sura was not scheduled, because Dr. Vemulapalli was charging so much money. Also, on 08/18/20 while I was in the dental chair waiting on her to start the surgery, she said she made a mistake on the estimate and I would owe her an additional $342.00. No one made a call to me to let me know that I would owe additional money before I got there. If the estimate was incorrect, I should have been informed before I sat in the dental chair for surgery. The was procedure was not done the correct way and now have food that gets stuck under one of my teeth and no matter what I do I cannot get it out. I was not having this problem before she did the procedure, now I will have to pay another dentist to correct her mistake. I was also told by Dr. Vemulapalli's office that the Cigna insurance would cover the procedure they did not check before she did the surgery. Cigna denied the claim, even though Dr Vemulapalli's office told me that it would be covered. I was advised by Cigna insurance that Dr Vemulapalli's office did not call to verify if the procedure was covered. This tells me that her office was too lazy to verify benefits in advance. read more

I cannot recommend Dr. Pali enough. She is thorough, professional and takes the time to make sure that any questions the patient may have are answered to their satisfaction. She treated me with respect, which some doctors and dentists do not, even though I had mentioned to her that I take an active part in my health care. Some doctors and dentists cannot tolerate a patient asking pointed questions about what the practitioner is doing, but Dr. Pali demonstrated that her concern is making sure the patient is properly attended to, and did not take offense when I DID ask pointed questions. I am very disappointed with the experience I had at Cedar Park Periodontics. This is long and detailed, but I want to paint the whole picture. I scheduled a procedure to remove a growth on my gums. When I arrived in the office, I made it very clear to the receptionist that I couldn't afford anything above and beyond my copay. She understood, and ran my benefits in front of me to be sure the procedure wouldn't cost me extra (I made it clear I wouldn't be able to proceed if so.) We were both happy to see that my benefits were better than most she had ever seen, and I wouldn't be charged anything beyond the office visit. I went ahead with the procedure and felt like I really hit it off with the Periodontist. She is personable and did a great job removing the abscess; it healed within a few days time and you can't even see where it was! Here is where things go downhill; it was suggested that we send the biopsy "to the lab" so they could confirm that there wasn't anything to be worried about. It wasn't deemed "necessary" but because of the location of the growth, and no real reason for it to be there, it wouldn't hurt to check it out. Initially, I declined because I don't have any extra funds to cover additional fees. We then started talking about how incredible my dental benefits are and it actually wouldn't cost me a thing since my benefits were covered 100% after the initial copay! So I agreed to then send in the biopsy, at no additional cost. I was so relieved with the whole process, and felt like they took care of me. Two weeks later, I received a bill from the (out of network) lab for $160! I called to correct their error and was told that I was fully responsible for this bill and that it had been ran through my medical benefits, not dental. I was frustrated, but I just knew that Cedar Park Periodontics would sort this out, so I called them. I was immediately told by the receptionist that I was never told by the Doctor that the labs wouldn't cost me a thing; they have no control over the labs and wouldn't know how much it costs! I made it clear that I wanted to speak with the Periodontist because she was the one who told me this. She called me within a few hours and insisted she never told me the biopsy test wouldn't cost me anything under my dental plan. The thing is, I remember the conversation vividly. I NEVER would have agreed to the test (I had initially declined it!) if I had known I would be billed $160. I made it clear that she had obviously made a mistake and should make it right. She said she would call the lab and "see what she could do." That was the last I heard from her. I called the office one week later and was told that I need to just "pay my bills" and "the doctor never said that to you." I was appalled at the way I was treated! I am only against "paying my bills" when I'm billed for a service I was told wouldn't cost me! I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the way I was treated when I raised a legitimate concern (one that cost me a significant amount of money!) was infuriating. I will never visit this office again due to this experience. read more

I went to this periodontist office for a problem with an implant. Doctor had good bedside manner but assistant was very rough with X-ray apparatus in my mouth. Doc gave Good explanation of treatment plan then passes me off to business person who tells me I am covered 0% of 2k bill, but she would send insurance paperwork for predetermination. After not hearing from this office I called my insurance company and the predetermination was never sent in. I also learned I was covered for 50% of the cost. I won't be going back. Good doctor. Dr. Vemulapalli has been my perio for only a few months, but I don't plan on seeing anyone else anytime soon. Her and her staff are extremely friendly and make it clear that every visit is about you and shoot for a comfortable environment for her patients. Dr. Palli and her staff are great. Here's why: 1. Dr. Palli is very patient and thorough in explaining things in layperson's terms. 2. Dr. Palli and I discussed several different treatment options for my issue, and I don't feel like she pressured me into anything (unlike dentists I've been to in the past). 3. It's fairly easy to schedule an appointment or reschedule if you have a conflict. 4. The office sends reminder emails so you don't forget about your appointment (I have a terrible memory). 5. The office runs on time!! One of the reasons I hate going to the doctor is because I don't want to waste an hour just sitting in the waiting room. This has never happened to me with Dr. Palli. I highly recommend Dr. Palli for anyone suffering from gum recession or other gum or teeth problems. I'm so glad to be her patient!  I had gum recession that was causing me pain everyday. I consulted several periodontists and dentists to discuss solutions. I felt the most confident and comfortable with Dr. Palli and her treatment plan. My gum graft procedure is now healing nicely. Dr. Palli was careful, never rushed, gave detailed attention and explained everything throughout the procedure. She did not over promise unrealistic results or push for a too invasive treatment plan. In follow up appointments, she addressed another problem (teeth grinding) and now with a specialized mouth guard, I'm sleeping through the night and free from my  pain! I went to Dr. David R Reeves as referred by my dental visit to get my teeth cleaned. Dr. David R Reeves said I needed a some teeth pulled. I did have a few teeth that were loose. My parents never took me to the dentist so I developed periodontal disease in some of my teeth. He also pulled out teeth that were not loose including a crown telling me they needed to be pulled. I'm really not sure why he thought they needed to be pulled. He gave me partials to wear that broke very soon after wearing them. I was eating when my top one broke on a back section. I had it repaired on my own due to the fact I am upset he pulled teeth that were perfectly fine and just needed a good cleaning. I would not recommend going to Dr. David R Reeves. I also want to know why they don't make better quality partials that last a lifetime? read more

Dr. Vemulapalli is the best! I reluctantly set up an appointment and saw Dr. Vemulapalli after years of putting it off. I had a previous gum grafting procedure with a different doctor that was a complete failure and I just didn't want to go through any of it again. Upon meeting Dr. V I was skeptical, asked many questions, and even expressed my skepticism about having the procedure performed again. She was amazing. She took time to listen to my concerns, explained the procedure in great detail, answered all of my questions, AND I never felt rushed! Additionally, for my previous gum grafting I asked to be fully sedated; however, Dr. V explained that it wasn't necessary and that some numbing would be enough to keep me comfortable. I was a little nervous, but I trusted her input. I walked away feeling optimistic and even eager to try again. The procedure went smoothly and since I was awake, I could hear how thorough and detailed Dr. V was being while completing the procedure. The aftercare directions were also thorough and key in maintaining success. Dr. V also completes several follow ups and a cleaning in her office rather than the typical one follow up and done. I think I should probably just move in and live with these wonderful people, considering how much time I've spent here having grafting procedures done. Let's be honest - bone and gum grafting isn't pleasant, but Dr. Palli and her staff make it, while not exactly fun, certainly the best experience it can be. All questions are answered and the entire procedure is explained. I am always made as comfortable before, during and after my numerous procedures. The front desk staff (Chris and Jenny) are always super-friendly and make sure that all of the financials are explained clearly. Teresa (hygienist) gives the best cleanings I've every had. I can use a lot of big, descriptive words to describe the experiences I've had, like PROFESSIONAL, THOROUGH, FRIENDLY, WELCOMING, ON-TIME APPOINTMENTS, NO PRESSURE, etc., but the bottom line is the crew here CARES and they do a GREAT JOB. I recently had a strange issue with my gums and thought that I had an infection. I made several trips to the dentist and an Endodontist who found that I did not have an issue with the roots of my teeth. When I visited Cedar Park Periodontics the doctor and staff were very professional and eager to help fix the gum problems I was having. They first did a deep cleaning which relieved some of the pain. After another round of antibiotics and a gum infection that was persistent the doctor decided it was time for oral surgery. The surgery was quick, the entire team was professional and great to work with and they finally solved the problem! Unfortunately I had a bone fragment that needed to be taken but I would have never solved this problem without the help of Dr. Palli. I had immediate relief after the surgery and the healing process has been successful. I am so thankful I found Cedar Park Periodontics. Before the surgery I really thought I would never find a solution. Again, I am so very thankful to the entire team at Cedar Park Periodontics and their eagerness to help me find a solution. read more
