Dr Ramirez has a very calm and pleasant way about him. He and his staff made me feel very comfortable for an otherwise uncomfortable extraction of a fractured root canal. He was very thorough going over my past history. The office had some nice relaxing music going. He stayed with me during the local anesthetic injection, making sure I was properly numb prior to the procedure. (Most other practitioners just disappear for a while). Despite the somewhat complicated fracture, the procedure went well. Additionaly, I had also been told by my old dentist that I needed an implant in place of the old root canal. Dr Ramriez opined that it was not necessary based on the tooth location, bite pattern, etc. What else can I say? I have been going here for a few years now, and I have had some pretty major dental work done. With that I can safely say that Dr. Bob is probably the most awesome dental surgeon ever. If I had to choose one person to stick needles in my mouth and drill holes in my face repeatedly, it's definitely going to be Dr. Bob. He is a true master with the needle and the drill, no doubt. His staff is super awesome as well. Just a bunch of friendly outgoing people that help put your worries at ease. I trust all of them with sticking very sharp medical instruments into my face hole. A botch job in Mexico removing my wisdom teeth left me with a dislocated jaw, bone fragments and a serious abscess. I have not had many (any) good experiences with dentists prior to meeting with Robert Ramirez a few weeks ago. Very personable and reassuring. Prior to that consultation, I was convinced I'd have to pull all my teeth and get dentures. My last trip to a dentist 5 years ago was a disaster and ultimately resulted in my having to got to the hospital for a dislocated jaw. After a thorough examination and X-rays, he proposed a three part treatment plan which was minimally invasive and did not involve any extractions and implants, with a treatment cost that wasn't exorbitant. Dr. Ramirez's practice is small, just him and his supporting staff, the office is cozy and warm. Yesterday I had my first of three procedures to deal with my recessed gums. Mara did a great job scaling and planing my right side. Dr. Ramirez came in and shot my mouth up with novocain, but I barely felt a pinch with the shots. His presence for that brief time was very reassuring. They did everything possible to make me comfortable during the procedure and today, I am not in the least bit sore. In about a month I'll be getting a gum graft for my bottom front teeth. I'm still a little nervous about that procedure as it is a minor surgery but if yesterday's work is any indication, I hope to be able to enjoy all of next month's thanksgiving meal with the rest of my family, pain-free! read more

Dr. Ramirez and staff are friendly and helpful. I left because I felt excessive pressure to set up my next appointment--according to their schedule rather than my own needs. Twice in one year my regular periodontal hygienist could not make it to work and a non-periodontal hygienist cleaned my teeth but did not do the usual checking of my gums and nothing was said about my gums. Dr. R is super-professional, friendly, and efficient. I like being able to make 7am appointments so I don't have to miss work for a checkup. He's very forthright with you when explaining issues with your gums and teeth and gives you your options in plain English. His staff is very warm, welcoming and helpful. Addendum - I have now had two gum surgeries with Dr. Ramirez. After two of these experiences, I can say without a doubt that his staff is excellent, his work has proven to be excellent, they see you when you are scheduled to be seen, and they make the experience the absolute best it can be. He personally called me to ensure I was ok... they office sends a get well card signed by everyone... he took a ton of pix so my insurance company couldn't weasel out of paying me this time like they did the first time. Very friendly and professional folks here! My first periodontist did a throughout root and scaling procedure and then wanted to do a much more invasive cleaning costing twice as much as my first car. I decided to change periodontist and landed in Dr. Bob's office. He gave a very comprehensive exam and recommended we hold off on the more invasive / expensive procedure. Throughout my dental implant process, Dr. Bob and his assistant, Sam were very kind and professional. They explained every single step to me and they took the time to get to know me. I have been going to Dr Ramirez about 8 yrs. Initially I was referred to him because I needed gum graphs. I have had that done - but it was not necessary to do all that was planned because of the way he helped and encouraged me to care for my teeth and gums. I have my teeth cleaned at least every 4 months. I was told as a child that I would probably lose all of my teeth. At 60 - I have healthy teeth and gums - am very proud of that. I also have loved the family atmosphere of Dr Bob's office and staff. I've always had a great fear of dentists. I have such comfort and trust under his care - that fear is not a factor. Should have written this review long time ago. My general dentist recommended Dr. Robert Ramirez - super sweet, professional, talented oral surgeon because I needed to have my implant done. I couldn't have asked for a better experience for such a scary procedure. Dr.Ramirez explained everything very carefully to me.
