It came back inconclusive and the vet said it's probably pancreatitis. Gave me anti nausea pills and special diet. She didn't eat again the next day so I called and they said wait for the meds to work. She didn't eat the next day and they said wait until Friday then bring her in. There was no way I was going to have my tiny cat wait not eating for 6 days. I brought her to another vet who did bloodwork should me the results took X-rays found some abdominal issues said it was not pancreatitis and showed my on the bloodwork why it wasn't. She weigh 5.2lbs. This vet if I had followed the instructions would have killed my cat! Don't go here!

Doctor Syler and her entire staff were so very kind, compassionate and caring. The Vet techs were so very loving with our little Toto and she was very comfortable with them and the way they handled her. For that we are thankful. Doctor Syler was so very easy to talk to. She answered all of our questions and put some concerns to rest as well. She also made some very good recommendations in regard to dental care for our little one as well. All in all this was a GREAT choice and we are so very thankful that we found Doctor Syler and her team. Have already recommended her to some other local friends as well. THANK Y'ALL so very much.

In response to the negative review by Lyn W, I want to share my experience with Dr. Collins and the…read morecrew at Edom Veterinary Clinic. I have used Edom Veterinary Clinic for five years. We have 10 cats and a dog. The doc and his staff have ALWAYS provided what I call above and beyond service to us. On two occasions, the doctor came in Friday or Saturday night to treat my cats that had been bitten by copperheads. On a third occasion, he waited at the office for an hour and a half after closing time because I was bringing in a kitten I found that had been hit by a car. I was sixty miles away when I called at 4:45. He said he would wait until I got there. He treated the kitten that night when I got there, and then kept her overnight, and came in again on Saturday to follow up. Last year, when one of my cats had cancer, we had to had him euthanized. At that time, Dr. Collins had been sick and his daughter, Dr. Alisa, was running the clinic in his absence. A few weeks after that, Dr. Alisa sent us a very nice sympathy card. She included a handwritten note saying that with our kitty's condition, we had made the difficult, but proper decision to euthanize him. We are very satisfied with both doctors and their entire staff. In fact, my wife bakes them a few dozen cookies now and then. We're seventy and have had lots of pets over our lifetimes. We have had the extremely good fortune to have three excellent vets in those years. The Collins family and their staff are right there at the top in terms of quality care for both the patient and the owner of the patient. In closing, I must say that Lyn W certainly has the right to express her negative opinion, but I think what she wrote is unfair and biased. signed, Joe and Julie Everett, Edom, Tx

I have used Edom Veterinary Clinic for many years. When Doc Collins was there, he was/is an amazing…read moreveterinarian--kind, compassionate, and understanding, especially during the hardest moments of owning a pet. Over the years, he helped me say goodbye to several of my dogs, as well as dogs belonging to my mom and dad. He understood how difficult those moments were. He would even come out to my vehicle so I could hold them in my arms while they peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge. I will always be grateful to him for the compassion he showed our family. Unfortunately, since Doc Collins retired, the clinic no longer has that same hometown, compassionate feeling to me. Last week, I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put my 13-year-old dog to sleep. I knew my dog. I knew her age, her condition, her quality of life, and I knew in my heart that it was time. It was not a decision I made lightly. Instead of being met with compassion, I felt like I was being grilled and made to defend my decision. I was questioned about when she last had bloodwork, how long she had been "bloated" (she wasn't bloated--she was overweight), and how long she had been having problems with her hind legs. I was told that if they knew the results of her last bloodwork, the vet could tell me what was wrong with her. I wasn't there because I didn't care enough to find out what was wrong. I was there because I loved my dog enough to know when it was time to let her go. Putting down a pet you have loved for 13 years is already an incredibly difficult and emotional decision. The last thing someone needs in that moment is to be made to feel guilty for choosing euthanasia instead of additional testing. I understand that a veterinarian has a responsibility to make sure euthanasia is appropriate, and I respect that. But there is a compassionate way to have that conversation. I left feeling judged and guilty during a moment when what I desperately needed was a little kindness and understanding. I truly miss the hometown veterinary clinic Edom used to be and the compassion Doc Collins showed my family for so many years.

We made an emergency stop at Animal Care Clinic (it was the closest to where we were on I-45). In a whirlwind of panic, we brought her in. The ENTIRE staff stopped what they were doing, rushed to our aid, and began trying to save our girl. Sadly, our fur baby passed and we were forced to finish our multi-hour drive home without her. Today, in the mail, we received the most incredible and thoughtful gesture. The staff of Animal Care Clinic signed a sympathy card and included our baby's paw prints with it.
