I decided to give Dulce Leche Bakery another chance after a terrible experience about a year ago,…read moreand I'm genuinely glad I did! My previous visit left me disappointed with the staff's attitude, the food quality, and the portion sizes. This time, though, the experience felt completely different. The atmosphere was more welcoming, and I didn't have the unpleasant staff interactions that made me not want to return the first time. I originally came in to order a birthday cake and ended up ordering a second one over the phone. I left with their house cake and a strawberry shortcake cake. The tres leche cake is always a hit, and the strawberry shortcake was a hit with everyone, too! I also tried the green juice, avocado toast with egg and French fries, turkey avocado sandwich, spinach empanada, ham and cheese croissant, and guava and cheese pastry. Everything was amazing! It's nice to see a place turn around an experience that was once bad enough to keep me away for a year. This visit was a pleasant surprise, and I'm happy I gave them another shot.

I have fine memories of walking through the streets of Recoleta and Palermo at night in search of a quality alfajore, or mornings started with a dulce-filled medialuna and a coffee. This very good Argentine bakery took me back to those days, with a delicious chocolate-encased alfajore paired with a cortado and a crispy churro filled with dulce. For a savory bite, the cheese and spinach empanadas were tasty, if a bit salty. They were both baked, as is the typical style within B.A. city limits.

There is seating inside and out, and the place is bright and clean. There were a lot of good looking pastries that I never tried or heard of, and the lady behind the counter was super nice and helpful with all my questions (thank you!). I would love to come back to dine in as this visit was take out. I ordered: - beef borek: Delicious! It's not overstuffed with ground beef, and the proportion to dough is really filling. You get a pretty big sized borek - I can get 3 meals out of it. - 1 regular simit, and 1 regular butter simit: the regular simit is larger in size than the butter one, but the butter one is much softer and decadent. The butter simit costs a little more, but totally worth it. - 3 types of round nut cookies: two of the cookies were made of nuts and crumbled easily (I preferred the brown one). I didn't catch the name - I gotta go back lol. There was also this round red pink one that tasted like raspberry, and the consistency was like a chewy macaroon - yeah, I gotta go back and get another one.

The Churro Bites are fried balls of deliciousness and honestly, not sure if I would describe them as "churro" since they are plain on their own but they do have the ridges like churros. I actually preferred them plain since the toppings you choose are what makes it. We got half Dubai and half Lotus & Chocolate which was an up-charge of ~$2 (not sure why). The Medium size is also perfect for sharing among 2-4 people depending on how hungry you are. I will say these are so addictive so you might even want a whole order for yourself. Both Dubai and Lotus & Chocolate were scrumptious but I found myself going back to the Lotus & Chocolate more! The churro bites have a perfect crunch and feel light & airy, the toppings were sweet & satisfying, and overall very delicious. I'm a big fan and would absolutely come back!

As soon as I saw Knead Some Love NY's gulab jamun donuts while walking around Smorgasburg, I was so excited and had to try them. I also got a mango lassi donut since my son loves mango lassi. We both LOVED our donuts. They are packed with flavor and a unique twist on popular desserts. My son loved how much mango flavor he could taste in his donut, and the gulab jamun donut was perfect. I loved the consistency of the fresh-baked donut, the gulab jamun on top and the frosting. Plus they are beautifully baked and pretty to look at. I highly recommend trying these donuts and supporting an amazing woman-owned business. The owner is super friendly and helpful, so if you have any questions when ordering don't hesitate to ask. I can't wait to order more donuts again next time I'm in NYC and try some of the other flavors, too.

For the remainder of the time I was there, I didn't notice her take it away especially because more people came in and she got busy. Hopefully it was removed. Not sure if I'd try this place again. I came back another day based on the hours posted on the door and was glad I did. The interior details are beautiful and give the café a cozy, Parisian feel. As someone who loves visiting Paris, I really appreciated the atmosphere. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant, vanilla pecan éclair, and a cappuccino. The croissant was slightly dry, but the vanilla pecan éclair was delicious: soft, sweet, creamy, and beautifully balanced. Definitely my favorite part of the visit! The high-top seating isn't ideal if you're planning to sit and work for hours. I briefly tried the outdoor seating, but the heat made it uncomfortable that day. I see this more as a place to enjoy a coffee and pastry, meet a friend, and continue with your day rather than settle in for a full workday. This place gave off a nostalgic classic ice cream store vibe from the outside and I was all for it. The customer service was great and you can sample the flavors! They offer both soft serve and hard ice cream scoops. They seem to currently only offer two flavors of soft serve - vanilla and chocolate but they do have fat free and sugar free versions of both flavors. I didn't get the soft serve this time as I was captivated by their variety of flavors for their scoops. I recommend the dulce de leche and the orange pineapple. The dulce de leche was spot on, sweet but not overly sickening. The orange pineapple tasted like a creamsicle, if you grew up eating creamsicles, get this! Overall, the "hard" ice cream scoops was hands down one of the creamiest scoops I've had, I was blown away. Definitely recommend!
