The eggs Benedict were outstanding and I loved that the American fries were actually grilled potatoes rather than some deep fried potato slices I've received on occasion from other places. The service was friendly. read more

Cecil Diner - Absolutely delicious. Great service. - American Near Me - Cecil, Wisconsin

Ceedy place, needing much repair. Waitress was unatentive and cold. Food wasn't bad, but overall experience was not something I'd look forward to again. read more

A buddy and I enjoyed a Sunday meal on Aug. 11. My generous lunch included two scrambled eggs, 6 ozs. of grilled chicken, cottage fried potatoes with butter, four slices of homemade toast and jelly and fresh bountiful coffee. We both planned to have some pie, but, by the end of the meal, we ran out of room. I topped it off with a single scoop of tasty, creamy butter pecan ice cream. Only two servers were on shift, so the busy dining room kept them hopping. Nevertheless, our service was excellent! We will certainly come back again soon. read more

The food was good and the service was friendly. It feel kust like what it is, a hometown diner. read more

Typical diner food but amazingly attentive and sweet service, true to the Midwest. My little "egglish" was just the right amount of protein before launching into rhubarb pie heaven. I sampled the crepes and they were strange - filled with super sugary jam-like strawberry stuff and no discernible cream cheese. Everyone else was pleased with their choices. Coffee refills are steady, bordering on pushy. They are rightfully famous for their pies so plan accordingly. The rhubarb was the most divine balance of tart and sweet. Amazing crust. Whip cream a nice but unnecessary addition. read more

Many mornings I pass the Cecil Diner it is busy, so I had to try it. While it looks like many have nostalgic association with this little place, Cecil Diner was a new experience for me. The prices (FYI- cash only) are affordable and the service is personable. Aside from that, I don't see the lure many others do. My husband and I have had breakfast here and it was okay. At some point we may return, but there are other places in the area I like better. I got the chorizo and eggs, pleasantly surprised to see chorizo on the menu. The chorizo was mixed into scrambled eggs with potatoes on the side. The chorizo was good and abundant, but the eggs were rubbery and not fluffy. I think there were better possibilities with this dish. The potatoes were bland. There were two noteworthy things to this dish, aside from the chorizo. The salsa was spicy and seemed homemade-- really good. The bread, too; light and flaky and not typical store bought. In spite of the positives, the meal was only ok. With a little creativity and texture variation this dish could be so much better. My husband got the typical heart stopper breakfast... Again, bland aside from the toast. He got OJ and said it taste funny. Oh, and the atmosphere is that of an old cafe. People don't come here because it is pretty to look at. So, while many come here for the memories, I do not foresee making the same kind of memories here. read more

Cute little place with tasty diner food (all day breakfast! homemade pie) at diner prices. And friendly staff. Our server, Sandi, was the best! read more

Gross, skip this place at all costs! Have driven past here for years and finally stopped in for Sunday breakfast. Yikes! The clientele was scarier than the diner! My water tastes like urine. Our meals weren't bad but one of the wIt staff kept having a horrible coughing fit, phlegmy! It was disgusting. Please pass this restaurant by read more

Great place to eat for breakfast. I had the Denver skillet with coffee and homemade toast. I will be coming back again.

My kids and I stopped here out of the blue. So good! Food is homemade, fresh and delicious. A must is to save room for pie. Diner is clean and comfortable. Cheap prices on everything. read more

This is a northern Wisconsin diner that has served the community for decades. The food is comfort-styled-home dishes and delivered with an authentic charm. I particularly love the service and the attention they give to my requests especially during the breakfast rush. I have been to several restaurants in the area around the lake but consistently come back to the Cecil Diner because they make me feel like family! read more

Cecil Diner has the best potato pancakes I have found in the area, and my coffee cup never gets empty, great service when Sandi works, conversation and laughter are the best part of the day... :-) read more

Potato pancakes! Best you'll ever have. Been coming to Cecil's since I was a kid. There's no other diner like it. The breakfast is amazing, and served all day. Delicious homemade pies and strawberry shortcake. read more

I stopped in here while passing through. This place was excellent. I got an omelet that was awesome. This is also one of the few places that offered me homemade bread with my breakfast. The only thing to be aware of is that they can overcook the egg a little, but since I like my eggs more done I enjoyed it. The portions are excellent. This is a great little spot. read more

I so want to leave a good review for this longstanding local diner. Service is awesome and the long list of pies are tempting. However, I had issues with one of that day's specials; Shrimp Scampi. The sauce was paste like, not sauce like. The flavor was just not there either. I'll be back, but I'll choose something like the meatloaf or roast chicken next time. read more

Best sour cream raisin pie in the world. All the pies are homemade and so delicious that it is tempting to skip an entrée and just fill up on pie! Over the years we have eaten at Cecil Diner many times and have never been disappointed. We live in Milwaukee so we can't visit as often as we would like. The prices are VERY moderate for the quality of food offered. I highly recommend you try this place. It looks a little run-down but the food is amazing, Don't forget to save room for pie! read more

Stopped at the Cecil Diner on our way home from up north. We have been going there for years. It used to be our favorite spot to stop for breakfast / lunch when traveling. Today was a deep disappointment. Me, my husband and another couple stopped in. We were craving a good greasy burger. When we got our food the meat looked grey and had no flavor. We asked for mayo and raw onion .... they charged .25 cents more for each .... which would not have been problem except the mayo was rancid and they only gave two rings of onion. They charged extra for anything you wanted on the burger, i.e. lettuce, tomato, pickle. I felt like I was being nickel and dimed to death. There seemed to be an argument between the cooks and the waitress. When we asked for more onion the cooks became upset and gave our waitress a hard time about the request. The food was so bad that none of us could eat our burgers. The waitress never asked if the food was ok .... it seemed as though she wouldn't ask because she knew what the answer would have been. Our bill came to $33.00. We could not get out of this restaurant quick enough. Needless to say we will never go back there again. read more
