I've been to Wisconsin a few times now, but had never experienced a "Supper Club" first hand. What a fun experience! You start in the bar area, sitting for a sip of whatever you whistle wetter of choice is. At some point, staff comes by and talks about what you'd like to eat and takes your order. Once they are ready to start serving your first course, they seat you in another room and start the process. Well portioned meals abound, whether you fancy fish, steak or chicken. The food was delicious and plentiful (I ate a 2nd meal at home afterwards) Hours are limited. (Only open 2-3 days a week for limited windows of time, sometimes varying). Also, anticipate that within the first hour they are packed and you'll be waiting, so best to come as soon as they open to get good seating and quicker service. read more

From the outside, it looks like a general store from early 19th century. It was charming, dated and something from a Mark Twain's novel. Once inside the building, an old-fashioned bar sits on the right while tables are scattered throughout the dining area. The hospitality was genuine and engaging. The host smiled and made our group of 20 feel welcomed The food was delicious. We loved the price point, too. The price felt like pre pandemic levels, not over the top. We reviewed the menu closely to overindulge with drinks. The old fashioned was absolutely tasty. For a taste of Wisconsin culture, this is the place! read more

Ambiance was great, very dated aesthetic that made you feel like you were in the early 1900s. Staff was very friendly, and the owner even came up to us and thanked us for coming. The salad was ok, it would be much better served with some extra toppings (was just basic lettuce mix) and could also use more dressing. Our fish was good. Super legit old school supper club! It's in an old home and tucked away just outside of Green Bay. Mixed bag: Of course, the old fashioneds were good! We got a lazy Susan before our meal, which had all the usual stuff.. veggies, crackers, bread sticks, cheese, ranch, and stuff. Oddly, when our food arrived, the server took the Lazy Susan away without asking if we were done with it. We both ordered ribeye steaks. The quality of the meat was good but not great. Sadly, there was no prime rib on the menu, unlike many Wisconsin supper clubs. I would've loved prime rib instead of ribeye on this day. So the bar is small and crowds quickly. The old fashioneds were good, but there was no muddling of fruits to make it fantastic. The food was good. Our party tried shrimp, walleye, and perch. The recipes are good but again not over the top fantastic. There is no salad bar. The Lazy Susan is only a relish plate and does not actually spin/rotate... The desserts were Uncle Mike's Carrot Cake or German Chocolate cake and that was Fantastic!. Our paying experience was the worst part. It should not be difficult or painfully slow to get you to take my money. The bartenders were so busy bartending that the were not available to take payment. Born and raised in Wisconsin now living in Vegas I craved fish and frog legs. So I knew I was visiting my dad and yelped frog legs and kropps popped up. Loved loved loved this place!! A hidden gem of a restaurant! Lived in the GB area for over 20 years and never heard of this place. The bartender Tom has worked there for 30 plus years and was so interesting. Bonnie, the hostess was super friendly and told us how the restaurant worked. Christine served us one of the best filet and shrimp combos ever. A relish tray comes with your meal which includes a cheese spread, liver pate, and some meat spread plus delicious rye rolls, soup, etc.We will be back!! read more

We are regular customers. We even have a regular server that waits on us. Went there tonight and waited an hour in a half and then never took our order. Thet have newer owners. We asked the bartende twice why our order hasn't been taken yet. He checked and said she would be right out, and she was not. Owner finally came out and took orders of larger groups that we after us. My wife and I got up to leave. My wife told owner we won't be back. I stopped owner in middle of taking and order and said we are leaving, no regular or anyone, should wait that long for an order to be taken. She said to me "thank you have a good night and laughed. Wait was very reasonable, great people, and impressive bar service while waiting for your table, and wait staff was the best I have experienced in a very long time! Loved the 'local' vibe and decor which tells the history of the establishment. We will absolutely go back! Kropps is an an old school Wisconsin Supperclub! The two bar tenders are reminiscent of Statler and Waldorf except one of their names is Gilly and he is perpetually grumpy... this appears to be well known and possibly an act! The steaks are really a great value. The lazy Susan comes with soup salad and a crudités platter...with this being said, this is a very old building, the main dining room will most likely remind You of the Shinning... Overall really good food at a great price, I'm sure the owners have made boatloads of cash because they haven't spent any $ on the interior since Nixon was president. read more

Expect happy crowds, good old fashions, traditional food and friendly service from start to finish. The foods good all around, but the perch and fried chicken are truly excellent. This is not going to be a long winded review describing every nuance of the food, but it doesnt need that type of a review. The food is straight forward, unpretentious, and accessible to every one. A vert strange experience overall. Was told there was a 30 minute wait for a table. The bar was packed so we sat outside on the porch. After 20 minutes they took our order- while we were still waiting for our table. Got seated after 40 minutes and the waitress brought our salad right away but we had to ask for drinks. (Huge opportunity missed here, could have sold at least two rounds. ) Food was good, not great but perfectly acceptable - it's pretty hard to screw up fried fish and fries. Zero atmosphere. First time ordering take out from this restaurant. We ordered two fish fries to go, one perch and one fried cod. The perch plate was supposed to come with a baked potato but came with potato salad that really wasn't very good. The rest of the food was excellent. Coleslaw and mandatory rye bread was very good. I'm only giving it three stars because of the lack of masks. No one working there was wearing a mask. No one sitting at the tables waiting for their food was wearing a mask. No one walking into the building was wearing a mask and we only saw one man walking out of the building with food wearing a mask. we won't go back again because of the lack of covid precautions, which is too bad because the food really was quite good.
