In my case, I pump milk so that I can go to the gym and spend quality time with my husband. I also pump milk so I can get a few hours of sleep at night while hubby stays up to feed the baby. Breast pumps, especially the trusted brands, are quite expensive. They're a worthy investment though, if you want to breastfeed your baby for a long time. So when my trusty Phillips Avent electric pump decides to malfunction, I was in a state of panic. I didn't know where to bring it because we rarely hear people going to repair shops for breast pumps. But it's too pricey and important of a thing to just dump and replace with a new one. So I called the Phillips customer hotline and while they didn't agree to replace my pump with a new one, they referred me to a service center who can do the job. AVS electronics was near my place so I opted to have my electric pump repaired there. The fixing took only two days and I was able to get my pump again. It wasn't good as new, and I can see some residue of glue used to fix my pump, but it's working well so I guess they did a good job. I take extra care of my breast pump now, but at least I already know where to take them if it malfunctions again.

Cable Monster is a chain of mall kiosks that have all sorts of cables for your phone and other devices. It's really a pretty convenient store as they do have all sorts of cables/cords that are compatible with most devices. And, if you're particular with colors, their cables come in various colors so if you're lucky you can get one that matches your phone's color, if color-coordinating things are important to you. Their prices are a bit steeper than CD-R King, but I would really opt to purchase cables here as the quality of their cables are much better and are sturdier than of course their cheaper alternatives.

It's a popular "tiangge" where you can get these four things: Pirated DVDs/Music CDs, cheap clothing and shoes, mobile phones/accessories, and cheap food. It's not glamorous nor is it well-ventilated, but on days outside of the holiday season, it's a pretty relaxed place to go for some light impulse shopping after work, or a place to get some cheap, quick snacks in BF Homes. Although on holiday season, beware because this place becomes a cramped, sticky labyrinth, but still is a convenient place to get some last-minute gifts. Back when the internet wasn't such a thing and DSL connection was still unheard of, my favorite stall here would be this seller of rare/hard-to-find/indie pirated DVD's. But now, I just go here for cheap clothes and to grab some veggie snacks at Feng Ling, the cheap Malaysian & Singaporean food place, which serves tofu, veggie balls, fried kangkong, and yummy green mango smoothies. If you're planning to drop by, do visit around 5pm to be sure that all the stalls are already open. They open late, and since there is zero ventilation system inside, it's better to go when the sun is out.

This interesting little one-stop-shop for everything has been inside BF Homes as far back as I can remember. Before Aguirre became a famous food strip, right at its corner with President's Avenue was the ruins of an abandoned old building. Some really cool merchants started pitching tents and setting up tables to sell their wares there. You'd find a lot of really cool vintage items and some stylish clothes that you won't get in malls. Over the years, it has developed more into a find-everything-here place selling DVDs, CDs, electronic gadgets, accessories, clothes for kids, swimwear, tshirts, gift items and toys. It is now a structure with a huge roof and several stalls. It was called The Good Shepherd Bazaar for a few years now and usually runs between 2pm to 2am. However, their selling time seems to have changed very recently and most stalls are already open by noon and close around 11pm. While shopping in the sweltering heat may not be a good idea in the summer, I often brave the traffic and the heat to go here because they still have the best selection of children's items. If you're looking for class A toys, they've got a bunch you can get from P100 to P200. For instance, if you buy Shopkins (those little plastic toys with faces) in the mall, a 5-piece set would cost you about P350. Here, you get the items with the same quality - since it's all made in China anyway - for P120. You can get a two-piece swim suit for a baby for only P80 and Gerber Graduates, which is not available in malls here, for P220. Pajamas for kids run for about P100. Oh, and they have a nice little food area where you can get some really cool snacks. They have kwek-kwek and tokneneng selling for P20 for an order of 5 pieces. Chicken skin is the bomb! Then there are those that specialize in dealing with home appliances. You also have those electronics stores that specialize in selling video game merchandise. The thing I find humorous about Electronics Boutique, is that it tries to sell so much that I think it doesn't fall squarely under one category. They have television sets, mobile phones, computers, desk lamps, and so much more. In addition, I found it funny that such a store would sell so much despite the fact that their small size. I dunno, there's just something funny or humorous about this place that makes me snort or giggle when I look at all he stuff they sell because in a way it reminds me of CD-R King.

I for one spent most of my time looking at Televisions at Automatic Center. This is because Automatic Center was one of the few places that would constantly update their line up of products with some of the newest models available. It's a spectacle to behold all those televisions playing videos on a loop. With each new generation of TV tech I found myself in awe over these things that would often be out of my reach given the price. I always thought that this must be how rich people watch TV.

Whatever electronics device or computer accessories you want to buy or anything technology related really, you can find here. My big brother who is a huge tech junkie spends hours here looking for the perfect items he needs either for work or personal use. My family and myself have bought computers, software devices, gaming stuff, headphones, and many more here and they are always in great condition and of good quality. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable so buying stuff there isn't difficult at all. Also look out for sales, discounts and promos if you want to save money.

Yes, there is Greenhills but, for the legit tech support services and products on warranty, you should go here. They usually have the latest phones, laptops, digital cameras, gaming consoles, PC components and tech accessories. If not, you can always order it ahead of time and make a reservation. The reason I love SM Cyberzone is that it is located inside a mall and they are open til late. Depending on what product you plan to buy or the service that you need, the prices per store is relatively the same price. You can still haggle and, of course, requests for extras like accessories or freebies (like SD Cards or USBs). Unlike other techie kiosks, you can pay using credit cards here and they also offer installment packages. Very convenient! I usually go here to have my laptops fixed or to buy a cheap accessory for my gadgets. Plus, I just like going around to see the latest gadgets to touch and try them out (LOL!). Depending which store you choose, the staff are well-informed about the gadgets. So, they will be there to help you decide whether to buy or not. Lastly, it is one of the best places to shop because many stores offer deals and promotions at the end of the month and most especially during the Christmas season. As the tech area of one of the biggest malls in the metro, most of the big tech brands have a home there. Just about every bit of consumer tech is present there: mobiles, personal computing and photography are ready and waiting to be explored. Own brand laptops and desktops from Acer, Lenovo, Asus, and Apple all have wares for the computer savvy. Canon PH and Camerahaus provide eye candy for shutterbugs. Smart, Globe and Sun all have their own stores, as well as Samsung and Sony Mobile should you want to buy something without a postpaid plan. For a bit of local flavor, MyPhone and Cherry Mobile also have prominent stalls. Music lovers also have the JBL Concept Store, and a Sennheiser stall in the middle. This doesn't even account for the other stores selling accessories, peripherals, and a plethora of other items. And naturally, it has a CDR King. Because everyone needs to visit CDR King once in a while.
