My laptop is just too heavy to bring to school especially when commuting. What I like about this computer shop is it's fast internet connection and well maintained computer units, despite having a Windows Vista operating system up to this date. Although, I think they should upgrade their OS already, their computers haven't failed any of my usages yet, so I guess there's really no problem with that. I even go to Isko until now whenever I had to upload some huge file on the net. My "12 hours remaining time" of uploading at home is just minutes of waiting time with this computer shop. It definitely makes my computer life efficient up to now! Most people who go here use computers for academic and professional purposes, (I'm not sure if they allow gamers here but I haven't seen one in any of my visits) that's why it has a somewhat library feel, perfect for writing and researching. The staff in Isko is also commendable for being professional with work. You can count on them to trouble shoot any technical difficulties that you may have with the computer that you're using, plus, they're also very alert when it comes file printing and logging in and out of costumers. Rates are only P10/hour of internet, and around P2.00 - P5.00 for their black and white and colored printing. Really cheap compared to most internet shops in the metro. Everything in UP Shopping Center is cheap, anyway, so go there if you're looking for budget computer, photocopy and printing services.

This place has always been more consistent in giving you a peaceful, less heartbreaking experience with your banging out your paper to beat a deadline. It's probably how they've managed to survive staying in the prime spot of the UP SC. The place looks clean and straightforward and business-only even if the person beside you'd just be watching cat videos on Youtube, butyou will easily tune out his laughter while you struggle to contain your tears here. It's comfortable enough and you have a lot of breathing space to calm yourself down with while you juggle browsing your readings with one hand and trying to make your paragraphs look coherent with the other. You appreciate that they don't try to squeeze you in with photocopiers or bookbinding services, so you know you're just getting what you need: a cheap, proper internet connection, MS Office, and a reliable printer. Isko, Kompyuteran ng Iskolar ng Bayan is really just focused on your getting the work done, and you'd realize all along that their name is a tribute... to you.

There are plenty of computer cafes out there that lets me play games with a high speed internet connection and a good rig. Most of them come off as generic and don't really give off a unique vibe to them, not Minesky Infinity though. The thing that makes Mineski Infinity unique is that it wasn't started by people who looked at it solely from a business oriented perspective. The people who started Minesky Infinity are a group of students who were themselves hardcore gamers. Their internet cafes are basically made by hardcore gamers, for hardcore gamers, of hardcore gamers. Everything is great. Sure you won't be using products from the likes of Razer, but their keyboard and mice are of great quality. They have headphones that do a good job of bringing a level of sound and comfort I wish I'd get more often from other internet cafes. they clean their equipment regularly and replace the ones that are broken. Given just how well some kids treat internet cafe equipment I'd say that's a massive plus for Mineski Infinity. To date, I haven't found a internet cafe franchise that handles its business as well as these guys do. Sure there are probably cafes that are as good, if not better, but none of them have the presence that Mineski has. It is the gold standard of internet cafes so far as I'm concerned.

Yes, there is Greenhills but, for the legit tech support services and products on warranty, you should go here. They usually have the latest phones, laptops, digital cameras, gaming consoles, PC components and tech accessories. If not, you can always order it ahead of time and make a reservation. The reason I love SM Cyberzone is that it is located inside a mall and they are open til late. Depending on what product you plan to buy or the service that you need, the prices per store is relatively the same price. You can still haggle and, of course, requests for extras like accessories or freebies (like SD Cards or USBs). Unlike other techie kiosks, you can pay using credit cards here and they also offer installment packages. Very convenient! I usually go here to have my laptops fixed or to buy a cheap accessory for my gadgets. Plus, I just like going around to see the latest gadgets to touch and try them out (LOL!). Depending which store you choose, the staff are well-informed about the gadgets. So, they will be there to help you decide whether to buy or not. Lastly, it is one of the best places to shop because many stores offer deals and promotions at the end of the month and most especially during the Christmas season. So, if you're a gadget lover like me, give this place a visit one time. Less stressful than GH for sure :)

As the tech area of one of the biggest malls in the metro, most of the big tech brands have a home there. Just about every bit of consumer tech is present there: mobiles, personal computing and photography are ready and waiting to be explored. Own brand laptops and desktops from Acer, Lenovo, Asus, and Apple all have wares for the computer savvy. Canon PH and Camerahaus provide eye candy for shutterbugs. Smart, Globe and Sun all have their own stores, as well as Samsung and Sony Mobile should you want to buy something without a postpaid plan. For a bit of local flavor, MyPhone and Cherry Mobile also have prominent stalls. Music lovers also have the JBL Concept Store, and a Sennheiser stall in the middle. This doesn't even account for the other stores selling accessories, peripherals, and a plethora of other items. And naturally, it has a CDR King. Because everyone needs to visit CDR King once in a while.

There was a time when for me, Toy Kingdom was the one place I could spend hours in just looking at all the stuff I wanted to buy. Data Blitz is today, the equivalent of that in my age. They not only sell consoles or portable video game hardware, but they also sell special unique items that hard core gamers could want. They are one of the few stores that sells those chairs for driving sim games. It's a chair with driving pedals and a steering wheel, how more hard core can a person get?

It was a good thing my I was with my friends who also had some free time. We decided to relive the good old times and play some classic Counter Strike. We went to this place near Katipunan. Some of my gamer friends recommended it. When we went inside, it looked like a high-end computer shops because almost all of the PCs were running DOTA 2, which really required some good hardware and I was impressed. We proceeded upstairs to a room with about 20 computers. It had ample ventilation and the PCs had a very user friendly internet cafe interface. We just had to enter the codes we got from the cashier after paying and we were good to go. (For people who would like to frequent or frequent this place, it's advisable to get an account that you can reload for easier access.) We were about six people in that room and we were the only ones there. It wasn't sketchy at all. We just had a really fun time shooting each other in the game and organising our strategies. It was like high school all over again. Aside from renting computer with good hardware, quality games, and internet connection Blue Skies also has a PS4 and Xbox with kinect for rent. One barometer that they failed to add is that you should have at least once been to Blue Skies. Blue Skies is practically an institution in itself. That shop has been there for decades already and was able to withstand the aggressive expansion that's plagued Katipunan businesses. Sure the shop was a lot larger back then, but the important thing is that it's still standing. If you feel like reliving your glory days, you might be in for a rude awakening as the interiors have really deteriorated and smell like cigarettes. The computers are old and some are rundown. The place is chock full of nostalgia but all those memories aren't enough for me to stay and play here anymore. Funnily enough, Marlon, the guy we all know and love, is still there and will cook your pancit canton for me.
