Mineski Infinity - Where gamers go to game

There are plenty of computer cafes out there that lets me play games with a high speed internet connection and a good rig. Most of them come off as generic and don't really give off a unique vibe to them, not Minesky Infinity though. The thing that makes Mineski Infinity unique is that it wasn't started by people who looked at it solely from a business oriented perspective. The people who started Minesky Infinity are a group of students who were themselves hardcore gamers. Their internet cafes are basically made by hardcore gamers, for hardcore gamers, of hardcore gamers. Everything is great. Sure you won't be using products from the likes of Razer, but their keyboard and mice are of great quality. They have headphones that do a good job of bringing a level of sound and comfort I wish I'd get more often from other internet cafes. they clean their equipment regularly and replace the ones that are broken. Given just how well some kids treat internet cafe equipment I'd say that's a massive plus for Mineski Infinity. To date, I haven't found a internet cafe franchise that handles its business as well as these guys do. Sure there are probably cafes that are as good, if not better, but none of them have the presence that Mineski has. It is the gold standard of internet cafes so far as I'm concerned.

When you've landed on Gilmore and you're being harrassed by store staff out on the street, all you…read morejust really want to do is find a safe haven in the land that will offer you peace and security in this dog-eat-dog world. And then you'll find yourself at PC Options. PC Options is a store that's easy to spot in the tumult of Gilmore as it's set apart from the rest of all the computer and laptop-dedicated buildings across it. What's odd about it is that they have two separate stores beside each other, both under the PC Options brand--I haven't exactly figured out what the difference is, though I think one's more on the hard drives and and more delicate stuff, while the other's more on the accessories like mouses and headphones and things of that nature. Clearly I know nothing about computers. But what's so good about PC Options is that they do make you feel so secure even if you don't know shit. I was looking for an external hard drive and my friend Lara, who also doesn't know computers, suggested the place, and I understand why. You just feel like you're getting your money's worth and not getting bamboozled, since everything looks so nice and professional. Hell, they have their own security guards for *both* stores and have a proper queueing system to get and pay for what you need. I'm not sure that other shops in the area have the same measures, and I don't think I want to find out. I'll just stick with PC Options.

Yes, there are places to buy appliances, furniture and authentic shoes. Agreed, you can purchase toys and collectibles, and get your hair cut. Those options notwithstanding, personal electronics are inarguably the focus here. The plethora of gadget shops that occupy half of the space on the third floor are the best reason to visit V-Mall. You'll find pretty much anything you want, from the latest and greatest devices to computer parts and everything in between. Unlike the tiangge area, bargaining is not always a sure thing but feel free to try, especially if you're purchasing a lot of items from one store. Most things sold here are as brand-new as they claim, although caveat emptor should still remain your motto while shopping. Keep your receipts for warranty purposes! If you get hungry, the food court is opposite the gadget side. The selection is typical, for the most part, although there is a Sbarro's outlet in case you don't mind spending a little more for higher-quality dishes. To the side of the food court is Beyond the Box, which has an excellent selection of Apple devices and accessories. Prices here are pretty good, too.

You name it, they had it! Sadly, after how many fires, they had to close it down for a few years. Then, from the ashes, Greenhills rebuilt and renamed it to V-Mall! Everyone goes to the Tiangges in the GH shopping center for the cheap electronics. But, the problem is that you don't know if those are real, fake or second-hand. That's why, if I am in need of a new gadget or need something fixed, I go to V-Mall. Most of the kiosks on the third floor are of legit electronic dealerships. They not only offer monthly installments, you also get a one year warranty. The second floor has a few clothes shops, toy shops, an appliance center and a furniture store. If you look at it as a whole, it's a fairly small mall. But, the kiosks here are places that people go to for specific services and needs. For me, apart from the gadgets, I go here for the foodcourt. :P Nothing fancy about the foodcourt. It's actually a good place to just sit, eat merienda then wait for meet-ups with friends. V-Mall isn't like how I remembered it as a kid. I'm still happy though that it's still around and still has it's charm! :)

Not counting unpredictable online promos and price cuts for older models, Liteware Computers offer…read morethe best prices for Apple products. I bought a 13-inch Macbook Pro from them, and they offer the Philippine standard for Apple warranties. Just recently, I also bought a 64gb iPad Air 2 from them, and I got it for 28,000PHP, which at the time was a very good price (this was back in January, so it was a new model). Today, you can get a 128gb iPad Air 2 for less than that from online retailers (kind of annoying and sayang, I know). However, I don't regret having bought the iPad that early because it's been helping me a lot with work. Liteware is also a great place to buy cases from. Especially when they're on sale, their prices can go as low as half of store retail prices. That's huge, considering how important cases are for these expensive gadgets. What I don't like however is that Liteware charges extra for credit card payments and installations. That's a huge turn-off because a consumer shouldn't be paying for a STORE to provide an alternative payment option. Not everyone wants to travel in this wild city with 31,000 pesos in cash (the price of the iPad Air 2 had the store manager not made the mistake of telling me I wouldn't have to pay extra to use my credit card), and it should be the store's responsibility to protect the consumer because that money is going to end up in their cash register. Anyway, even with the credit card additions, the prices are still lower than SRP's, albeit by only a small amount. The staff is also pretty accommodating and helpful, so that's a big plus.

Yes, there is Greenhills but, for the legit tech support services and products on warranty, you should go here. They usually have the latest phones, laptops, digital cameras, gaming consoles, PC components and tech accessories. If not, you can always order it ahead of time and make a reservation. The reason I love SM Cyberzone is that it is located inside a mall and they are open til late. Depending on what product you plan to buy or the service that you need, the prices per store is relatively the same price. You can still haggle and, of course, requests for extras like accessories or freebies (like SD Cards or USBs). Unlike other techie kiosks, you can pay using credit cards here and they also offer installment packages. Very convenient! I usually go here to have my laptops fixed or to buy a cheap accessory for my gadgets. Plus, I just like going around to see the latest gadgets to touch and try them out (LOL!). Depending which store you choose, the staff are well-informed about the gadgets. So, they will be there to help you decide whether to buy or not. Lastly, it is one of the best places to shop because many stores offer deals and promotions at the end of the month and most especially during the Christmas season. So, if you're a gadget lover like me, give this place a visit one time. Less stressful than GH for sure :)

As the tech area of one of the biggest malls in the metro, most of the big tech brands have a home there. Just about every bit of consumer tech is present there: mobiles, personal computing and photography are ready and waiting to be explored. Own brand laptops and desktops from Acer, Lenovo, Asus, and Apple all have wares for the computer savvy. Canon PH and Camerahaus provide eye candy for shutterbugs. Smart, Globe and Sun all have their own stores, as well as Samsung and Sony Mobile should you want to buy something without a postpaid plan. For a bit of local flavor, MyPhone and Cherry Mobile also have prominent stalls. Music lovers also have the JBL Concept Store, and a Sennheiser stall in the middle. This doesn't even account for the other stores selling accessories, peripherals, and a plethora of other items. And naturally, it has a CDR King. Because everyone needs to visit CDR King once in a while.
