A breast pump is a breastfeeding mom's best friend; it enables us to store our precious milk for our babies, so we can afford a few hours to ourselves. In my case, I pump milk so that I can go to the gym and spend quality time with my husband. I also pump milk so I can get a few hours of sleep at night while hubby stays up to feed the baby. Breast pumps, especially the trusted brands, are quite expensive. They're a worthy investment though, if you want to breastfeed your baby for a long time.
So when my trusty Phillips Avent electric pump decides to malfunction, I was in a state of panic. I didn't know where to bring it because we rarely hear people going to repair shops for breast pumps. But it's too pricey and important of a thing to just dump and replace with a new one. So I called the Phillips customer hotline and while they didn't agree to replace my pump with a new one, they referred me to a service center who can do the job. AVS electronics was near my place so I opted to have my electric pump repaired there. The fixing took only two days and I was able to get my pump again. It wasn't good as new, and I can see some residue of glue used to fix my pump, but it's working well so I guess they did a good job.
I take extra care of my breast pump now, but at least I already know where to take them if it malfunctions again. read more
