Our architect was more than willing to help us out in purchasing what we need. He suggested that we go to his "Suki" store and ended up here. For me, I wanted to go somewhere where I go buy everything at a very reasonable price. Plus, we were recommended to go here because our architect has a membership card! 5% off is still a good discount! The warehouse is fairly small compared to the ones in Pasig. But, the selection they have are the reliable brands that come with a good price tag. However, they didn't have some brands that I wanted to buy. A bit inconvenient but I plan to just go to the main branch for other items. The one thing I didn't like was that, when we needed help, it took quite awhile for any staff to help us. Only when they noticed that we were buying in bulk that they started to eagerly help out. When their staff did start helping us, they provided useful, informed, and practical advise on which product to buy. In the end, we bought 3 sets of toilets and sinks, 2 sets of showers, my kitchen sink and other fixtures! After adding it all up with the 5% discount, we were ready to pay. Then, the manager approached us and offered that we pay Cash on Delivery. Whut?! That is unheard of but, of course, we accepted! This shopping trip really got me excited for the next few weeks! :D

I would often go there, initially to ask questions first, see my options from their display of items and options per item, ask more questions, then make my purchase. This may seem trivial or common, but anyone who has bought something from construction supplies stores or hardwares would know that the staff is usually too busy to even bother answering questions politely or properly, especially ridiculously odd questions from someone like me who doesn't know much about construction. They even let me go inside to check on some items that I am confused about, just so I don't make the wrong purchase. Even in purchasing wood, they allow customers to head to the back of the store to choose their preferred item, or like for wood, even allowing me to see and choose which plank or plywood I particularly like the color or grain of. It's those little things that really matter, to add to the reasonable and competitive rates they offer.

It's a huge store, so there's all sorts of stuff to look at and keep boredom at bay, like giant shiny jacuzzis and model kitchen units. Now that I'm older, recently my dad asked me to come with him to help shop for pipes and stuff for the extension we're building for our house. He's getting older too, and needs an assistant. So on my last visit, I was able to appreciate how completely stocked Wilcon is. Tiles, bathroom stuff, kitchen stuff, garden tools, locks, even pet supplies, it's all under one roof. It's the ultimate in convenience among hardware stores.

You don't want to run around and drive to so many places just because one doesn't have a specific pipe and vice versa. You're better off at settling in 1 store where you can keep your sanity intact and your gas tank right above low. So where is this hardware that promises to give these things? It's the Wilcon Depot at Filinvest City in Alabang. My brother-in-law swears by it, and believe me he is the most anal person when it comes to these things. I came here yesterday to help him buy locks and other things for his almost finished house and it took us a few minutes to find everything we need. I would have loved to walk around more because of the nice tile selection inside but we didn't have a lot of time. So, if you're building a home or perpetually fixing an old house (like me) AND you live in the South, come to this branch and make it your home base.

I would go there, tell them what I need to paint, what material it is, the size and the quantity, then they recommend the kind of paint and the amount of paint I should buy. This has happened on three separate occasions and I must say that I am dumbfounded at how their estimate is always on point and accurate. They would also give me advice on treating the material first so it would turn out to be more cost effective or less labor intensive. I feel like they don't just sell me stuff to make money, but really care about the quality of the output. They recommend even up until the kind and size of brush or roller that I can use, which is beyond remarkable because they really don't make much from me anyway but serve me very well nevertheless.

With that being said, I had the opportunity to visit this place just a few days ago. I had a dilemma because I had to buy dog food and a door knob because I was out of dog food and our doorknob broke. I always buy dog food at a supermarket in the Fort S&R because it's cheap there. MC Home Depot helped my buying a door knob very convenient because it was just beside S&R. Not only that, It's in the Fort. It's basically a one stop shop for home needs and it's inside the Metro. How convenient. Apart from that, they also have a lot of brands that you can choose from. I found my doorknob and I was on my way, after paying of course. For people who are bringing cars, not to worry because they have parking spaces. They really thought of everything. So there I was on my way home: dog food in the back and a doorknob on the passenger seat.

Each project was a painful, excruciating experience. Trips to Wilcon at odd hours while juggling a day job, dealing with carpenters and their demands, balancing costs and living temporarily with the smell of cement and chemicals wafting in the air. All these things would have been much worse without the help of Wilcon. I think I go to Wilcon more than any other store in the Philippines. I feel like an adult whenever I am there and because it has really good fixtures and furnishings inside, I never get bored when walking around its halls. Every walk is pleasurable and every purchase reasonable. Tips: 1. If you want customized color for your walls ie aquamarine, you can have them mix it for you. 2. Come early and avoid the crowds. 3. Always keep your receipts. 4. Take your time looking at their selection of tiles.
