If you hate the idea of throwing away 2024 beverage deposit money, go here instead. The staff were quick and kind, helping usher big deposit loads to the bay as needed. BEFORE YOU ARRIVE, have your items counted, have them bagged in a clear bag, or bring a dollar to buy five clear bags they helpfully have available in case you show up with a kitchen bag like I first did. If you're feeling extra kind, rinse those bottles and cans to deter those aggressive summer insects. After you make your way past those yellow carts, collect your cash, buy more beer, and cheers to CCRC! read more

I have to agree with Lin J. I went in there with 5 bags of cans and bottles. They were in clear plastic bags and counted already so it took only a few minutes. They helped me clean the car out, they were respectful and helpful. No problems at all. Will always go there from now on. read more

well to the person who wrote the other review all i can say is deal with it. as for bring my non refundable plastic to them why would you. why not just sort the ones that are not refundable at home and put them in your recycle bin. and if the yellow jackets bother you so much then go to your local grocery store and feed the machines there. i have been to this place many times and have never been stung by yellow jacket. if you go in the winter they are not around. as for the counting i think anyone that runs a business like they do would indeed want to count the boxes that have cans in them. i also count before i bring them to them at the door and also while they are counting for themselves i count. as for them not talking English i have talked to a few with no problems. anytime i ask for bags they are polite and give them to me. when i ask how many in a bag they answer me and i understand them. so to anyone reading the other persons review so ignore it. But you are not going to go to a spic and span parking lot because people who sort there bottles and cans drop caps, cigarettes etc on the ground and god forbid should they pick them up. over all i love the place, i am in and out a heck of a lot quicker then feeding each one into a machine. also MS/MR i am not sure where to address them. if you think CT needs to revamp their recycling rules. go to other states that have no redemption laws. there are plenty of them and you will find every kinds of beverage containers all over the place. at least in ct you have people that need to make some money and they pick them up. but we need to add deposit to any kind of beverage that is bought. do like Maine the only thing they do not place a deposit on is mile. everything else u pay a deposit even those little nips you buy in a package store. bottom line is the place is so badgo somewhere else read more

I truly can't understand how this state run redemption center is up to codes. The yellow jacket bees are just swarming everywhere and it makes it very challenging to get an accurate count on your cans. Why should an individual get stung by bees just to get their deposit back? To help matters the utility carts are painted Yellow. Really? This will attract more bees! If you don't speak Spanish or Hindu Indian best of luck trying to communicate to the staff. Be warned that the staff will hand count your plastic if they feel you are not honest. Also the staff will only take "certain" types of plastic for a refund. If you are planning on bringing the non refundable plastic to recycle don't bother. They will just throw it away in a trash dumpster. Why? I have to recycle my garbage at home. So why is the state exempt? It would be a great help if the staff had posted what is or is not acceptable for redemption. The State of Connecticut is banking that the citizens do not labor at their local redemption centers so they can keep the money. In 2017 the state made over 3 million dollars in non returned. The whole system needs to be replaced! read more
