Never in my life did I think I'd be giving five stars to a scrapyard. Feigenbaum & Nair is closer to me, but i dont care. Now that I've seen Liberty, it's well worth the trip to Bristol. Here's a list of what you get at Liberty that you don't get at their closest competitor. -The entire facility is on concrete, as opposed to mud with metal shards sticking out of it. Easier to navigate, safer for both you AND your truck, and you won't leave looking like you just ran a dirt track race. -The people are helpful, and understand if you're a bit of a newbie. The scale man kindly explained that all of my types of metal will be exchanged for tickets, which you then take to the office to receive payment. The people in the office were nice too, and answered my questions. -FAIR PRICING. I had a little bit of regular ferrous scrap, plus some copper. Walked away with $40, which was quite a bit more than I expected. Feigenbaum would have paid me less than half of that, I assure you. I'm not about to start a scrapping business, but when I come across large amounts of metal, it's going here from now on. read more

5 stars all the way!! I wish I could give this place 10 stars! I just left here and was so impressed! I met the owner Jay and he was awesome, honest, and helpful!! All of the workers were so nice and really helpful! From the guys that weigh the scrap to the cashier, everyone I dealt with was great. They run their business like they really care. They make it easy for you to get in, get out with ease, and get the most money for whatever you have. Besides the awesome customer service, their prices beat any competition around. We won't go elsewhere ever again. Don't waste your time anywhere else...this is the place to go!! Plus the yard was much cleaner than any other place I've ever been too. My truck wasn't covered in mud or driven over broken glass when I left like I've had happen at other scrap yards. That's something I really appreciate! read more

I'll confess I haven't been here yet, but I was talking to a guy at the Avon landfill this weekend who recommended it highly. He had called Greene in Plainville for prices, and when he arrived later that morning, the guy attempted to pay him 1/10 of the price he was quoted on the phone. I used to go to Greene due to it being close, but it sounds like Liberty isn;t the mudpit, and pays better. I ended up checking it out and loved it. Staff were very helpful to newbie's like me, I was paid a good price. It's a well organized and well run shop. read more
