We had been storing up bottles and cans for years. So I had a shed full of bags of these bottles and cans. we had given some bags away to people to use them. The last person we gave to took the bag to a local grocery store. She reported to us she had redeemed the bag for $10. After that I identified Manchester Redemption with the an automated machine to count the bottles. So, I took 5 bags in an got $40. The next time I brought 6 bags for redemption. They gave me $60. This left me thinking that each bag contained approximately $10 of redemptive bottles. However, the third time I went, I brought in 7 bags. They gave me $40. I disputed the count they offered me no remedy. I believe they stole $20 from me either by machine error or by human corruption. I wrote them and got no response.

During the winter of 2020-2021, two snow storms left no room to put out the trash buckets. By March 2021, use of the service by this household had dwindling. My son effectively stopped using it by April. We received the last bill from USA H & R in mid-2021. I received a few emails, perhaps once every 3rd or 4th months. I informed them in my answers that my son had stopped putting out the trash buckets. I never put them out. My like experience is that when a company stops billing, said company has effectively broken the contract with the customer. The last email from the company requested the return of their trash buckets. I responded that they were in the yard and they may come to pick them up. That was at least three months ago. I received a letter from what appears to be a nation-wide collection service for an amount that is three times what the last bill was. I explained to BOTH USAH&R and the collection service that I had not been billed since mid-2021 and that USAH&R effectively broke its contract with this household and that this household stopped using the service months before the last bill. Their crew does no work here because no trash is put out. The company is not inconvenienced by our lack of participation as the neighbors on either side of us. Why, after more than a year and a half, USAH&R suddenly needs money for a service it does not provide is simply a swindle.
