Our home was in desperate need of landscaping after a major renovation. The grass had not been…read morewatered for over a year and the only signs of life were some jurassic looking weeds. Both our front and backyard were atrocious. After having dinner in West Adams, we noticed a landscaping office next door. We wanted to work with a local business that also worked with local nurseries and decided to get a quote with Green Grounds. They put me in touch with Guillermo, who I think is the boss. He came by and gave us a reasonable quote for the front yard and fencing around the back. I'd say it's definitely not the cheapest quote but i found it reasonable for the amount of work we were going to do. We weren't ready yet for the backyard but wanted to at least get the front done. We ended up getting a quote for: - dry scape front yard - fencing removal and replacement - plants - gravel - lighting - watering drip system - iron reinforced pavers for driveway It was a lot of work and on the hottest day of the year, their crew showed up with about 8 people to get work done quickly. We were shocked at just how quick things were! In addition, Guillermo did a great job communicating with us, suggesting certain plants and designs, etc. We met him at a local nursery to walk through and pick out plants. He is a walking plant encyclopedia. Show him a plant, he knows exactly what it is! He brought us samples of gravel and were able to choose right away what we wanted for our yard. In a short 5 days, our front yard was brand new and our jenky fence was a secure wooden fence with swinging gate to the backyard access. Not only was the quality of work excellent, but the short amount of time it took them was extremely impressive. We really wanted them to return to do our backyard. Again, we got a quote - this time it was going to be more extensive - leveling the backyard - french drain to divert water away from structures - demo and removal of existing weeds and uglies - plants, trees, privacy hedges, gravel - artificial turf - pavers (with artificial turf in between pavers) - Watering drip system - lighting - decking update to accommodate for land removal - fencing update to accommodate for land removal - laying down brick in a small area This was definitely a lot of work. I initially wanted to see if we could get LA County to give us some rebate money but we did not qualify. this delayed us signing up and submitting our deposit for about a month. However, after finally committing to the project and submitting our $1K deposit, unfortunately by that time Green Grounds had a bunch of other projects. They weren't able to get to ours until 2 months later. it was a long wait but ultimately, it was absolutely worth it! Again, the crew came out - this time on the coldest day! 8-10 people for demo, excavation, pavers, plants, etc. It was a massive project and they completed it in 6 days! I am so happy with the result. I am also extremely impressed with Green Grounds - their work quality, ethic, and professionalism. At the end of it, they even cleaned up my front yard and made it look brand new again! Highly recommend this company for anyone looking for a some professional landscaping.

Instead, we're left with a long list of problems and a company that refuses to take responsibility. Here's what we got for $30,000: 1. Backyard slopes toward the house! We hired them to fix drainage, but now rainwater could run straight toward our living room and sliding doors. How does a landscaping company get something this basic wrong? 2. Sprinklers spray directly onto our house. They installed sprinkler heads right next to the stucco walls and sliding doors. Every time they run, our house gets soaked! 3. Poorly installed sump pump area. They left a deep depression right in our walkway--a tripping hazard. Soil can wash into the basin, and the pump system appears to have drainage issues. 4. Drain covers cemented shut! Seriously? How are we supposed to clean or maintain the drains? 5. Stucco clearance ignored. Landscaping materials were left piled too high against parts of our exterior walls, creating potential moisture problems. 6. Front steps and landing already sinking! Brand-new work, and it's already showing signs of settlement. And the worst part? Their response. After multiple emails and photos documenting these problems, Guillermo and Alexis disputed responsibility for the grading and claimed it was done according to my instructions. I NEVER told anyone to slope the lawn toward my house! We hired professionals to FIX our drainage problems, not leave us worrying about flooding every time it rains. I've now filed a formal complaint with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB). Over $30,000 spent, and this is what we're dealing with. Absolutely unacceptable. I would NEVER recommend Green Grounds. I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

From our initial appointment, to the final touches on my…read morehardsscaping, my experience with Titan Pavers has been nothing short of exceptional. 1) The proposal phase - Max was quick to respond to my initial inquiry and came at our appointed time to evaluate the scope of the work. I was looking to install pavers over ~1500 sq feet in my back and side yard, with planting areas and an artificial turf corner for my dogs to do their business. Max immediately took note of the drainage issues that I had on my property and came up with a very technically sound plan of installing a sump pump and draining the water onto the street. I was fearful of the cost as it sounded like a lot of labor involved (and it was!), but I was pleasantly surprised that his quote was in-line with the other quotes I received that did not have a drainage plan. After a couple of very professional and kind email exchanges back and forth, we were able to negotiate a final price that I was happy with without compromising the look I was going for. 2) Work phase - Max estimated that the work would take 2 weeks, and they completed it in 1.5 weeks. What a crew he had! They were amazingly efficient and professional. They had to manually haul away 4 full containers of dirt to get my property at the right drainage levels. Max came every day to check on progress, and his onsite foreman was there the entire time to make sure everything went smoothly and it did! I was so impressed with the amount of coordination the team had. The last thing to be done was to install the tiles that I bought for the stair risers. They ended up being a bit too large and each one had to be cut down to size. It was very labor intensive, but Max was okay with it because his motto during the entire time was "I want you to be completely happy with the result". And I totally was. My yard is gorgeous with the "Spanish courtyard" feel that I was going for! 3) The aftermath - We had a full day of rain this past week in our area and it was a great way to see how the drainage worked. We used to have puddles form all over our property after a rainy day (mosquito heaven!), but now my entire yard properly drains out to the street. No more puddles. No more overflow water rushing into my back neighbor's yard. It was perfect. I am looking forward to working with Titan Pavers again once it's time for me to repave my driveway. I recommend them 100%!

In July 2026, we received an estimate and agreed on the price for our driveway paving project. In August, Max agreed to obtain the necessary permit from the City of San Marino. After checking with the City, we discovered that an arborist report was required. By mid-September, I had obtained the approved arborist report, and the City confirmed that Titan Paving could proceed with pulling the permit. At the end of September, Max informed me that they were working on corrections requested by the City, and we mutually agreed to begin the project on October 21. However, since October 5, Max has completely stopped responding to my numerous text messages and phone calls. Despite our agreed-upon start date, I have received absolutely no updates or explanation. I fully understand that contractors may encounter scheduling conflicts, unexpected issues, or even decide not to take on a project. That is perfectly acceptable. What is unacceptable is completely ignoring a customer after months of planning and an agreed-upon start date. I have been patient and cooperative throughout this process, including taking the initiative to obtain the required arborist report. The least I expected was the courtesy of a simple response. This experience has been extremely frustrating and a complete waste of my time. Reliability, accountability, and basic communication are essential qualities in any professional business, and unfortunately, Titan Paving has failed to demonstrate them
