We engaged the services of Love's Landscaping a year ago for a property we manage in Atwater Village. GORGEOUS home, interior and exterior photos can be found on Pinterest, and it was lovingly restored by it's current owners. At the inception of service with Love's, I walked the property with a Foreman, detailing the items that would be needed, replacement of a simple sprinkler timer that feeds a trip system for the deck and yard spaces, trimming of vines on the side of the house, clean up of beds, general maintenance of a large vine in the front of the house. I have since held two inspections of the house, each time noting the sprinkler timer. I also observed that a grape vine had taken over a neighbors tree, and was growing into the crown, the vines on the side of the house has created damage to the paint of all four windows. The responses I received when noting these issues were nothing short of dismal. Claiming that the grape vine couldn't be viewed as it reached to the top of the neighbors tree, that the sprinkler timer that I had multiple conversations about "As far as the timer in the back yard, it is not broken. It works. The turn dial plastic part was broken off, but the guys use pliers to set and change it. They thought that it would save the owner money to leave it that way because it does work and if they are the ones that set it, it would not matter." Um, if I asked for it to be replaced a year ago, then again 5 months later, and then again now, well, it would seem that the timer should be replaced. But not to worry, I will take care of that myself at this point. The vines on the windows were diminished and narrowed down to just one window, claiming that the tenants asked for the vines not to be trimmed. But they don't own the home, and we're the management company on behalf of the landlords and we pay the monthly fee and engaged the services of Love's, shouldn't we be consulted on how we want to vines to be allowed to grow. I was clear that they shouldn't be allowed to grow on the windows or the frames because the landlord requested it specifically, and because I know only too well that vines damage paint. Who is responsible for painting the windows now? Us, as management, the landlords as the people paying the monthly fee and who stipulated what they wanted for their home, the tenants, who shouldn't have had their requests catered to without consulting us first, or the landscaper, who is responsible for the maintenance? We paid separately to have seeding done of the garden spaces, the rear yard is a mud pit, and the front yard, while one section is thriving, the other looks a mess. It's being advised that we reseed, or go with a more expensive option of putting sod down. Before Love's starting servicing the account, sod wasn't necessary on any portion of the garden and yard spaces. Now it's being advised. Who should pay for that? This isn't about periodic maintenance, this is about a monthly service that has been lacking for months. And is now being pushed off on the landlords to absorb the costs of a job that wasn't and hasn't been well done. I'm not happy. Can you tell? Excuses, bait and switch, lack of taking responsibility. Poor service. I will be cancelling all accounts, only three, but cancelling all, regardless. read more
