If I could give zero stars I sure would for this location. The customer service upfront is very unprofessional and racist. On December 7th my father was checking out over $500 worth of merchandise and while he was being checked out the female cashier has someone that speaks Spanish ask my father if he can afford what he is going to purchase. Then she asks what kind of job he works at. Like what is it to her where he works, I am very sure that my dad makes well enough to buy whatever he wants. Then when we called to complain about this incident nothing was done. I'm pretty sure the management itself is a reflection of the employees that attended my father. The cashier number on his receipt is 71784 . I myself have been in this location to purchase boots for my daughter and I and the customer service was bad. We were not greeted, we were not asked if we needed assistance just seen the employees standing around having conversations amongst themselves. My daughter literally had to ask someone to assist us. If I could pick zero stars I would. First off the girls at the front counter have the worst attitudes! I have shopped at this location about 4 times now and yesterday was my last. I will no longer shop here. The first time I went to this location my wife and myself were buying clothes for my daughter's birthday. There was a jacket on a rack that said all jackets 20% off. We went to check out and have well over $400.00 in merchandise that we are purchasing. My wife always makes sure that the sale shows on the bill and notices that the jacket did not reflect the 20% off. My wife said something to the young girl behind the counter and she tells us that this one was not on sell. I went back to where the jacket was hanging that had the sign and then showed the girl at the front counter. She then with an attitude told us that the sale was not for this jacket. I said that was fine so I just suggested that they remove the sale tags. This happened a few more times on other items. Yesterday I went to purchase my son some clothes for his birthday and another sale tag was hanging and once again I am being told that the item was not on sale. I left all the items on the counter and left the store. I took my money elsewhere. Let's be honest, this is Texas! There are stores that sell these clothes all over. I will not be returning to this location again. I am trying to spend money at your store. I do not deserve the little attitudes from these girls. And I suggest taking all sale tags down. read more

Very nice store! The main entrance faces east, you dont see it from interstate. The store is way bigger than I thought! Very clean, well-stocked & organized. Very helpful staff. Kids dept, a women's dept is 1/3 of the store. Mens western, work, casual, and dress -up clothing. Rodeo, or urban cowboy, this store has you covered. Give yourself time to see all the merchandise. Besides cowboy boots, and fashion boots, there are workboots, casuals, and slip-ons. I found my size in MWZ jeans, a miracle! read more

Went in tonight to pick up a pair of shoes that had to be ordered. Walked in and stood there while one employee was standing next to another employee while One was looking for something on the computer for a customer. They didn't say anything to me!! Just looked at me. Not until after he walked away did they ask to help me. I told the employee I was there to pick up a pair of shoes I ordered. She asked my name and then told someone she's going to get my shoes and could they watch the register. She then came back and there were SEVEN yes? SEVEN Employees just standing there doing nothing!! The customer that was there at the register when I walked in walked back in he was ready to checkout. I said I can't believe they have 7 people standing here and not one could help you!! Then another employee walked up and helped the other customer! The girl helping me was so rude! She asked me for my ID and I asked why here is my receipt and she said again I need your ID and again I said I have my receipt. She was trying to do something on the register and couldn't find my order even though she had my shoes and the order form and my receipt. She then got very snippy and said I had to sign something with her attitude so I took my shoes and told her I wasn't signing shit! They didn't need my ID to buy them! So, I came in here looking for a pair of ladies western boots and while they have a huge selection to choose from, I either couldn't find anything I liked or they didn't have it in my size. There were a couple of styles by Coral that I had seen at Dillard's that I was interested in and they were actually cheaper at Cavendar's! The pair of Lucchese's that I was drooling over was not in stock in my size. While the young girl who was helping me was very friendly and full of suggestions, I was a bit surprised when I told her I wanted to try on a size 10 and she said, we've got a size 9, would you want to try that on? Seriously??? Why in the world would I consider purchasing an almost $400 pair of boots in a full size smaller? Even if I were even able to squeeze my foot into a smaller boot, can you imagine how uncomfortable they would be? Crazy, but I guess you can't blame her for trying. They seem to have way more merchandise geared towards men. I checked out their women's apparel and wasn't impressed with anything I saw. Nothing jumped out at me with "Wow, I just gotta have this." RUDE RUDE RUDE... I was extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service & the way we were treated at this store. I have spent ALOT of money over the years at Cavender's & was definitely not treated like this before. I've never had great customer service at this location, BUT yesterday was ridiculous! We were headed to get my grandson a pair of boots and there was an accident on 30 that made us later than we wanted to be, but since we had already made the drive we decided to go in, even though they were closing in 15 mins! We were aware of this and we're going to shop quick. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by being told they closed in 15 mins. We weren't asked if we could be helped. We found the children's boots ourselves and then we were approached by another employee that said, "Hey, just wanted to let you know, we close at 6." Again, we had about 12 mins till 6 & were in a hurry. We found boots, with 5 mins left till 6. Picked up a black felt child's' hat & employee said we are closing soon... We were at register at 5:57! The cashier asked, did anyone help you today? Lol, umm NO! No they did not! Not once were they offering assistance! They were too busy worrying about what time they closed. I am so disappointed & will continue to spend my money in Dallas, where they know how to treat their customers & employees aren't standing around doing nothing! Absolutely horrible customer service. We walked in, the woman said hi in a very low voice, then went back to talking to her two friends that were also working. We were never asked if we wanted help with anything. We had to ASK for help. We were trying to look at the buckles in the case and they wouldn't even move for us to look! Then while we were pointed in the direction of the other buckles, they were standing there talking about something inappropriate with their mouths covered with their hands. Young kids working, don't give a shit in the world about customers. Then we leave and they didn't even say anything, not thank you, kiss my ass, nothing. Definitely won't be back! read more

HORRIBLE!!!! This is the worst Cavender's I have ever been in. We picked 2 shirts off of a rack that said 25% off along with a pair of boots. First, the girl at the counter was having a conversation with another employee and never acknowledged me as she rang me up. It was like we weren't even there!!! The shirts didn't ring up discounted so my partner asked about the sales. The girl asked for a manager. He said "I'm understaffed and haven't had a chance to check but it's wrong." Alan took him back and showed him the the sign. He said it was in the wrong place. My partner pointed out that the sign said 25% off of FR Outerwear. And the shirts were FR Outerwear!!! When he pointed that out, the manager proceeded to tell him that there is a sign out from that says "we do not have to honor sale prices." SERIOUSLY???! There are so many other places you can purchase western wear. DON'T BOTHER TO GO TO CAVENDER'S! read more

HORRIBLE customer service on line, never buying anything from Cavender's again. Placed an order on line 2.5 months ago, $150 via gift card, balance on paypal. Calls to check on status usually ended in being disconnected after half an hour on hold. They do not return calls when a name and number is left, they do not respond to emails. After getting through to a person I was told the first time it should be shipped soon, next contact with a person I was told unsure why it hasn't shipped and keep waiting, next contact with a person I was told to call back in a week and ask for a manager. Finally got through to a manager who said she shows no record of a gift card being used, order has been cancelled. When I asked about the use of a gift card she said her records don't show a gift card was used and she's 'not going to play this game' (her exact words), but did state their gift card program has been inoperative for the past three months. My bad for not keeping the gift card and expecting the order to be processed as their site indicated. When my wife stated we clearly don't expect any cooperation from her or the company based upon our interaction with her and asked if can she at least apologize for the delay, the times on hold, no returned phone call or email, the cancelled order, the lost gift card, she laughed. The 'manager' LAUGHED. They clearly don't care about customer service, seems to be a corporate culture based upon other reviews. I'm done with Cavender's. read more

I've been shopping at Cavender's for 30+ years in Tyler and as I moved to the DFW area we have been to several other locations. I went to Rockwall location this week to pickup a pair of Ladies Steel toe boots and the customer service was not anything like it use to be. Associates standing around talking or on their phones. No one offered to help me except for a lady in the women's wear when I was just browsing but when it came to the boots, zero help. I had to ask for help and they pointed and walked away and back to visiting and playing on phones, huge disappointment. In my past experiences when buying boots the associates would always stay with me as long as needed to help me find what I needed. This is not at all how Cavender's built their brand and it's time for management to step up or I will not be back, I had the same experience as the Mesquite store later the same day and it was just as bad. I don't have time to make calls to the store or to corporate so this was the most convenient option, Cavender's should really add a customer service email address to their website. read more

We love Cavendars, but the Rockwall store has some of the poorest customer service I've seen in quite a while. We walked in 45 minutes before closing time to purchase a cowboy hat. Not only did the group at the register barely stop talking among themselves to give us an eye rolling sneer, we had to ask them to direct us to the hats. We looked in this section about 5 minutes with no one coming to see if we needed assistance. We then went up to the front desk and asked for help. During the next 5 minutes no one came to assist us, however, an employee did walk right by us into the stock room without even a "how do you do". Needless to say, we left without making a purchase. This is my first time to Dallas , Texas and my husband wanted a pair of boots. At first I was amazed by the selection of apparel and for the entire family. Logan was very friendly and helpful. Adam directed my granddaughter and I to the selection of men's boots. We surprised my husband with a awesome boots and now he wants another boots which is great.... !! horrible customer service . my boyfriend received a hat as a gift last weekend. i repeat last weekend. we go and try to exchange it and they dont carry his size . so the next option was to order it online there at the store or receive store credit. i had to be else where so i decided to get store credit on a card . the manager is gonna sit there and say i cant receive the full amount on a card cause he doesnt know if we got it during christmas which at the time the hats where on sale . last week there were no sales everything was full price !! i explained to him twice we didnt receive it as a christmas gift it was bought and given to him last week !! there was no sales going on last week !! so how in the world are you gonna con me out of 40 dollars that we'll have to pay out of pocket because the man didnt wanna give the full amount . then on top of that he's gonna say you should he able to buy the hat you want online with the 220 because there's a sale on hats . pretty much justifying his actions and the amount he gave us . i check online and there is no damn sale . overall as soon as i walk in it felt like no one wanted to be there or help a god damn person. especially the fucking kid on the hat side literally gonna sit there and have a damn attitude because he doesnt wanna be there . i've had better service at other cavendars. read more
