Since my heart attack I've really curbed my eating out. I'll only allow myself like one time every 2 weeks or so. When I do allow it choosing a place can be complicated. Cardiology said you're safest sticking to the Mediterranean diet. So given that advice my mom chose this place to meet up at. I was expecting it to be more of a sit down place which it is not. I mean you can sit there but it's got a Subway vibe. You can order off the menu or have them make you a bowl/wrap. So I got a garlicky chicken bowl and let them go to town. Then I got some side pita and red pepper hummus. Their pita is perfectly cooked. It was just lightly crisped. And man do I love a light crisping. Food was delicious and super filling. Then they have a nice range of tea flavor drinks. I got some cucumber lime tea juice thing that was delicious. My mom got some totally bland black tea thing she liked. I hit CAVA today and it honestly never misses. The food is super fresh, the bowls come out fast, and the portions are solid for the price. The staff was friendly and patient while I built my bowl (I always take forever), and everything tasted clean and flavorful. I got a greens + grains bowl with chicken, crazy feta, and all the toppings -- everything was seasoned perfectly and the pita on the side was warm and soft. The restaurant was also really clean, and even during the lunch rush they kept everything stocked. I am leaving a review with the hope management will actually respond. We did a pick up order and all toppings are missing and the bowl is a quarter full. This is the 2nd time. I was soooo excited to eat here and I still don't hate the food but as others have mentioned - the portions are laughable and the staff is terrible. I went the first time and I had never been before so I was expecting some help or something like most restaurants ask if you've been there before - no. The girl basically tells us it's impossible to add falafel to our bowls and seems beyond bewildered and how we'd have to pay - okay I don't mind. The food was fresh and good but I definitely think they missed some of the things I was supposed to have on my bowl. I tried to use the signs as guides but again the girl serving us was not super helpful. This place has only been open a short time and they had a decent amount of staff (4 or maybe more employees) and they already could not care less. If I was corporate I would be very upset with how the staff is handling a brand new establishment. The place was not clean, the bathroom was missing toilet paper, the staff wasn't friendly, and they also all seemed confused when it came time to lay, portions were small but really it was the overall care that went into the restaurant - dirty tables and lack of attention to detail. Then one of the staff members is just walking around taking pictures of everything - I'm not sure why but it was not only awkward but if he's taking pictures of their "job well done" someone needs to revisit those photos. The second time I went I was like okay I must be missing something let me order on the app. USE THE APP! Don't even go in and create your own bowl. They let you split your proteins and your base - so you don't have to deal with staff that doesn't want to give you falafel you ordered. You also get pita bread with every bowl! They did not ask me if I wanted pita when I first placed an order and I didn't know better. I was about to pay for pita. My complaint about picking it up is they have a rack for pickup orders I waited for them to put it up on the rack and they didn't. Finally went to the counter and some guy finally asked me "you picking up" and got my food which was waiting by the drive thru, which I don't think this is even open. My bowl was definitely better the second time around and so I can't stress enough just order on the app. I will go again because I love the food but this restaurant already needs the staff to be wiped out replaced with properly trained team who keep it clean and who are also nice and don't act like skimping on food is putting the money in their pockets . I've eaten here a few times because it's very convenient to my home. The staff is pleasant and the food is delicious. I love the braised lamb, and I ask for two scoops of harissa to go with it. I enjoy the garlic sauce seasoning on my bowls. I haven't had a salad, so I cannot comment on how that turns out. They can get busy sometimes, but they have plenty of seating inside and a few tables outside. read more

Super disappointed in how this place has devolved over the last several months. The manager that used to be there was nice but no one here has ever been friendly and they barely speak but it's gotten even worse. Last couple times I've gone I noticed my salad being added to my bowl by hand. Gloved yes but then she grabs the handle of a spoon with that same hand. Eww. They also seem very rushed even when I'm the only one there. Last night the dude serving condiments barely gave me anything and the girl and the register was very put out that I was asking for dressing as she quickly covered my bowl. Not to mention every single time the lentils are RAW. I also have to remind them that I need cups for the drinks I bought and a lot of times those cups are handed to me dirty with smears or small food scraps from their dirty gloves. Last week I grabbed a bowl there and was sick the rest of the night and following morning. I figured it was a fluke since I've eaten there several times with no problems. I gave it another shot last night and I'm sick again. I'm done with Cava which is a shame because there's nothing like it around here and when their food is fresh and good it's delicious. We ordered DoorDash from here two nights ago. The portions were extremely small. The lentils were undercooked with several being rock hard. We later learned that under-cooked lentils are a food poisoning hazard. They failed to provide the side of pita which was included on the receipt. We were there a month or so ago and the ambiance was nice. It's a shame the food was so lousy the second time because it had potential to be a new go-to spot for us. We ordered from here online last week. We got a salad bowl, a grains bowl & a kids meal with 2 drinks. Total after extras was $41.00. Portions were decent that time. Today we go in for the first time and order at the line. The lady rushed me so fast that she added on dressings before I could say "on the side". We ordered a grains bowl for my husband with 1/2 braised lamb and 1/2 lamb meatball. There was less than a cup of rice. Maybe 1/2 a cup if he was lucky for a GRAINS BOWL that should be mostly grains. The best part is this bowl came to $18 alone!! See photo for ridiculous portion. Many workers came out to examine the bowl and one even made a face like "wow that's skimpy" and shrugged her shoulders because clearly she couldn't say anything. The manager proceeded to tell us she would give us more rice but it would cost $1.00 more. I said forget it. They are more worried about an upcharge than their customers when rice is probably the cheapest item for them to make there. For a grains bowl we expected grains... anyways then it came to my bowl. I added on sweet potatoes and literally got 3.5 tiny triangles of them for a whopping upcharge of $3.10. I got the Greek salad with 1/2 chicken 1/2 lamb. She went so fast I couldn't even tell her I didn't want olives or cucumbers. I was frustrated at this point. Mine came to $17. I complained about getting 3 sweet potato triangles for $3.10 and she tried to tell me she gave me a full scoop. 100% no. I decided to not get a kids meal because of how this was going. Our total after all that and 2 drinks with 1 side of sauce was $48.34. Without the kids meal this time that we only paid $41 for the week prior. The service we got today and the portions on my husbands grains bowl was absolutely awful and to insult us by charging $1 more for the rice that should've been in the bowl to begin with. She kept trying to tell me lamb cost more. I wasn't complaining about the lamb as I m own it cost more, I was complaining about the little bit of rice he got. We will not be returning. We LOVE Cava but are unfortunate to have this particular location as our local Cava. Every time we have ordered from this location, something major has been totally missing from our order. It has never been correct. It's usually both of our drinks or the dipping sauce for our pita chips, but tonight we ordered two meals, two bowls, and received ONE. Other reviews of this location in DoorDash echo the complaint that this location has 0 attention to detail and consistently botches delivery and pick-up orders with many reviewers mentioning that it has *never* been right, just like our experience. There is a major issue with the management here as the staff does not seem to be coached to correct this consistent failure for over a year. read more

Hi, all. I finally had the chance to eat at Cava in Montgomeryville, PA. I chose to build my own pita wrap with chicken as the protein. The chicken was dry, over cooked and burnt on the outside. Overall I thought the pita wrap tasted horribly bitter and funky tasting. However I would recommend the chocolate oat salted cookie it was yummy! The server/cashier was not friendly or welcoming. this place is such a mixed bag. i love CAVA, but this location is just terrible. the portions they give are mouse-sized, one time the employees were yelling at eachother while making my bowl, and it's expensive! the only reason its not a 1 star is because the ingrediants are good, although you wouldnt be able to tell with the 2 micro-sized peices of chicken they give you. go to the plymouth meeting one, it's MUCH better, they actually give you food. read more
