Cava is just amazing, basically chipotle for mediterranean food but better! This is the 2nd location I've been to and it's the most spacious and quickest. The portions are huge and super filling - I always end up having leftovers. My favorite is the grains and greens bowl with chicken. I've also tried their braised lamb which is very juicy and full of flavor. You can choose up to 3 different spreads/dips but that's kind of a lot of me so I usually just opt for the crazy feta or tzatziki, both of which are bomb. You can also add uploaded toppings. The tomato onion salad, pickled onions and Persian cucumbers are chefs kiss. On top of that you can also add a dressing (Lemon Herb Tahini and Greek Vinaigrette are my go-tos). Love love loved this grain and green bowl - unlimited toppings! 3 different dips included too - all this for under $10?! Wow I'm in love. Wish something like this existed near me in BK. I hope this place opens up all over - new favorite lunch but will have to make a special trip from now on! Only negative was the service. It wasn't crowded (it was 3pm) but still the staff rushed me along. They passed my bowl up the line before I was even ready to order and pick my toppings. They rushed me so much that I didn't realize I had to request pita and I didn't notice that they didn't give me any until I was 3 blocks away and had to turn around. The line kept growing every minute but it moved quickly. Plus, most patrons seem to take their food on the go so seating was not an issue. Grains Bowl: I ultimately decided on a Grains Bowl because everyone sitting at the restaurant was eating one. The portion is HUGE and it comes with a side piece of pita bread! So a few of my co workers always go here for lunch and I saw a CAVA was opening right next to my apartment building and decided it was time to check it out. I went around 1:15 and the line was wrapped around the restaurant out the front door - literally. Thankfully I ordered online and saved myself the time. The lady that was preparing the to-go orders was calm during a very, very busy high-stress situation and she ensured everyone got their order and handled it very professionally! I ordered a salad with spicy lamb meatballs and chicken. The salad was good and fresh with light dressings that left you feeling full but still healthy and active. Their lemonade is so fresh and amazing I am obsessed but what topped the menu was the PITA CHIPS! Those pita chips were UNREAL, they are crisp and seasoned on the outside and soft and warm on the inside wow I don't know if I can ever eat pitas a different way again! I will definitely be back to this place to try their different bowls and pitas but highly recommend the lemonade and the PITA CHIPS EVERY TIME!!!!!!! read more

I passed by cava at different occasions and noticed lines reaching outside the store at lunch time! it makes you wonder what are people lining up for ? So I decided to try it and low and behold it was amazing! It is one of those fast casual pick your toppings in a bowl kind of place. But in comparison to other places they have fresh and flavorful food and they aren't afraid to serve you big spoonful of it . I picked the grain bowl with saffron basmati rice, falafel and seasonal veggies, red pepper hummus, harissa and eggplant dip and it was so much food I ate it twice!! Harissa had so much flavor and pita chips added crunch. The whole amalgamation of different flavors and textures was mind blowing! Overall,for price to value you really can't beat it!! Cava is an amazing concept with wonderful food. So why 1 star? This particular site however is a miserable representation of the brand. They must have zero budget for training. Staff is often rude and has no place in food service much less hospitality. A corporate decision must have been made to reduce portions which isn't awful as they were once very generous and are now significantly less. I work in the area and usually submit my orders on the app. When I come to pick up my order, there is usually a certain level of trust that I don't have to check my order to see if everything was made correctly. Several times, I have had missing options I asked for. The last time, I ordered an arugula and saffron rice bowl with other toppings and a side pita bread. The employees put only arugula and no rice at all. I was missing many other options I asked for and there was also no pita bread. If you're ordering on the app, I highly suggest to check over your order and see they actually got it right. Past times I also ordered ahead and I had to wait well over my chosen pick-up time. for example, I placed an order around 7:40PM for a 8:00PM pick-up and had to wait until 8:15 to 8:20PM to actually get my order. I have also reached out to Cava support and they have not answered. It's a shame because my girlfriend and I are massive fans of the brand, but I haven't experience that great of customer support in all honesty. *****Edit***** CAVA support got back to me and provided me a $10 house credit. read more

This first NYC location of the rapidly-growing Mediterranean version of Chipotle makes some really delicious stuff that is a refreshing new option, so check it out now before there are a ton and they feel more like a giant chain and seem less special. The menu seems overwhelming at first, but it's a pretty simple process that the very friendly staffers are happy to help walk you through. You can go the very healthy route to the slightly less healthy, but it all tastes delicious. You can pick among a bowl, a pita or mini pitas, and in the bowl, you can either do full grain, salad or half and half (grain consists of choices of saffron basmati rice, brown rice or black lentils). You then choose up to 3 dips & spreads (tzatziki, hummus, eggplant & red pepper, crazy feta, harissa or roasted red pepper hummus), up to 2 proteins (chicken, falafel, grilled meatballs, braised lamb, spicy lamb meatballs or vegetables), and as many toppings as you'd like from a large, colorful variety. Lastly, you can choose a dressing, such as the delicious, bright Spicy Harissa. I tried a grain bowl with the basmati rice and a bunch of dips and meatballs and falafel ($10), and it was a very satisfying meal. I also tried the regular size pita ($9) which is also a sizable portion and will leave you happy. You can also get two Mini Pitas for the same price if you want to make sharing easier or maybe try some different proteins and spreads. i can confidently say that this is probably my favorite cava location, even though i've only been here twice. everything from the quality of food, service, and portions is seriously on point! -no outdoor dining, but you're allowed to eat indoors -cash and card both accepted -available for pick up or delivery by ordering through their website. -the service here is great as always. even though there were only two people working at the time, the long line was quickly moving along. i was able to get in and out of the shop within 10 minutes. -similarly to chiptole, the prices of your bowl is based on the protein that you choose and any extra add ons. so, you can easily create a filling meal without putting a big dent in your wallet! 6/19/21 -greens + grains bowl: i decided to build my own bowl with half supergreens, half brown rice, tzatziki, red pepper hummus, grilled chicken, romaine, cabbage slaw, tomato & cucumber, pickled onions, fire roasted corn, and tahini caesar on the side. i'm still trying to figure out what the difference is between the red pepper hummus and traditional hummus, since they both taste the same to me tbh. all the veggies tasted super fresh and the chicken was seasoned/cooked just the right amount. they gave a much larger portion to me this time compared to last time; my bowl was literally filled to the brim! it was super filling, and i couldn't even finish the free pita that i got. for a little over $12 including tax, it's so worth the price. (4.5/5) overall, this is one of the few places that i would willingly come back to, even though i would just end up getting the same thing again. not only are their bowls such a balanced meal, but their portions are definitely worth the price. i don't know if i'll ever be able to go back to the soho location, because i probably got almost double the portion at this location (for the exact same price!) my favorite parts of my bowl that i would recommend you add into yours would be the red pepper hummus, tzatziki, grilled chicken, fire roasted corn, and pickled onions. read more

I definitely like how the toppings are unlimited. With unlimited toppings, pita bread, meat, 3 dips, grains, and greens I think it's a good price point for $11-12. My 4th Ave. rage was bubbling up. I was giving up on this neighborhood after an iffy Dos Toros experience and walking out of The PokeSpot because of seating and line issues. So seeing another Chipotle of Whatever that uses the word "protein" was cause for concern. Cava places together various ingredients only to drown them in sauce, and the ice machine wasn't in great shape, but I can imagine that it might be better for return visitors who understand what you're "supposed to get" here. I am not sure I will come back here again. I have been to many fast Mediterranean places and this would be my least favorite. First, the portion was smaller compared to others. They don't know what one scoop is. I had to ask to put a little bit more of each and it wasn't enough yet. Also, food tasted just okay. Falafel was so cold and extremely dry. Came here on a Friday afternoon and the place was fairly empty. There is plenty of seating and the place is well kept up. Everything looked very clean. As for ordering it's pretty much like chipotle where you choose rice, protein, and veggies. However they do offer a variety of dips like hummus or harissa (I got the crazy feta which isn't as spicy but already packed a punch so I'd be careful) for extra flavor. What I liked most was that there are plenty of veggies available that don't cost extra and you can order all of them. If you're looking for a decently healthy meal outside I would recommend checking this place out. Next time I come I will skip the dressing because the meal itself is already plenty flavorful. For $10 I think it's a steal for the amount of food you get and for how healthy it can be. read more

Where do i start? I would not entirely blame it on the staff working at this place. I would blame it on the rude management. Starting with the lady with short hair and glasses that come to this location from time to time, think she is the boss. She comes across as bossy and snobbish. She talks to the employees like they are her children rather than speaking to them like a leader. She has a bad habit of walking around with no hat or anything that can cover her hair; like come on woman your work in the food industry. You should know the standards. One time I was walking in to they store they were short staffed and had a few online orders and she wanted the staff to focus on the indoor customers and forget about the online orders and I ended up waiting for my food. Most companies only care about the money. Why do I say this? Well, they have the control of the amount of orders that come through on their end and they know what said number is and what that particular team can handle. So if they staff is overwhelmed and behind on orders it's their fault. That's why most orders can be made accurately because they are rushing. If they were to care about their customers they would find the ideal number of online order this particular location can handle and fix the situation. If they can't do something as simple as that, they shouldn't be in management. The food is delicious and affordable and the staff can be replaced if it come to it. But if management does not changes tactics this location will continue to receive bad reviews and customers will continue to wait for their online others. Something for you guys to think about as a company. But I love your food and the atmosphere. I've been to multiple location across the east coast and the food is amazing. But this location needs help perhaps a true leader who's more caring about their customers and staff alike. read more

Ever since a coworker took me here for lunch, it has made its way into my regular rotation...it's phenomenal! Cava follows an assembly-line style food preparation, and allows you to pick from numerous bases, protein choices, toppings, and sauces: I usually go with a grain bowl, and mix saffron basmati and their brown rice. They also have black lentils that I've been meaning to try but always forget. You can also get your toppings on a salad, for which they have numerous choices of lettuce. Meat choices include braised lamb, meatballs, falafel, chicken, and more. I've gotten the chicken every time and really enjoy it, but my boyfriend got the braised lamb last time and it was delicious too. A lot of the protein choices do include additional charges (I think the braised lamb was an extra $2.50 or something), but the bowl is still at a good price point with it. The list of toppings is long and extensive, and I usually add a bunch: pickled onions, tomato, cucumber, pita crisps, crumbled feta, etc. You can pick three dips as well. I highly recommend the crazy feta and the tzatziki. The regular hummus is tasty too. For sauces, there are a ton offered, included harissa, dill yogurt, tahini, sriracha yogurt, etc. I usually get a mix of the dill yogurt and a new one they have that's not on the menu (I can't remember what it is, but they let me sample it the first time I came and it was great). Line is long but moves at a decent pace. Plenty of seating as well which was a nice touch. They have infused water (free) and a variety of teas to drink. Portion size is massive- totally enough for a big lunch with leftovers. My usual bowl is around $11. Will definitely return! read more

Back in my day, when you were a college student who wanted a large, delicious, questionably healthy wrap or bowl for $10, you had to go to Chipotle. (Disclaimer: back in my day not actually that long ago, Providence just has less non-fast food options.) NYU kids are spoiled to have Pokeworks, Sweetgreen, and all those other newfangled places with grain bowls and as many toppings as you desire. The best buy among these, though, may be Cava. For $10.75, I got a massive bowl of spinach and brown rice covered with as many vegetables as I could stomach and lavishly topped with hummus and yogurt. I was full for a full eight hours (and I'm usually a snack-every-two-hours kind of girl). All of the components were good, though I would skip the chicken next time-- not generously portioned and overcooked. Service seemed burned out. Seating is lacking-- I would think 2 pm on a weekday would be chill, but I had to fight for space. But hey, where are you going to get a high quality double meal this cheap?
