Lasagna was good - sauce was the best part - meat was ok. Service was good & I was in/out in less than an hour, so it meets the weekday lunch criterion. I'll give it another go...

We appreciate the distinction between simply being served a good meal and experiencing genuine hospitality, impeccable service, exquisite cuisine, and an atmosphere that elevates an evening into something truly special. Visaggio's delivered on all counts! The atmosphere was familiarly cozy, warm, and inviting, providing a lovely setting for a leisurely evening of dining and conversation. Equally impressive was the presentation and professionalism of the staff. Elegantly attired in traditional black slacks and crisp white shirts, with neatly styled hair, tasteful makeup, and sophisticated jewelry, the servers reflected the attention to detail one expects from an establishment of this caliber. But appearance alone doesn't make a great restaurant. Service does! And the service we received was friendly, attentive, polished, and thoroughly professional. The staff demonstrated that wonderful balance of being readily available without being intrusive, allowing us to relax and thoroughly enjoy our evening. THE CULINARY EXPERIENCE We began our evening by sampling four appetizers, each offering its own delightful interpretation of Italian cuisine. The Tre Polpette al Sugo featured three exceptionally tender, house-made meatballs simmered in marinara sauce and finished with shaved Parmigiano. What impressed me most was the wonderful combination of flavors. You could actually distinguish the pork, veal, and beef in the mixture, creating a depth of flavor that elevated these meatballs well beyond the ordinary. The Mozzarella Fritta was equally impressive! Forget the typical mozzarella sticks found at most restaurants. These were substantial, beautifully prepared large triangles of lightly battered mozzarella that practically oozed melted cheese when cut open. Accompanied by a rich, thick marinara sauce, they were absolutely delightful! The Classic Tomato Bruschetta was another winner, featuring wonderfully fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, and balsamic. Beautifully and elegantly presented, it was as pleasing to the eye as it was to the palate. And then there was the Shrimp Cocktail! These were truly COLOSSAL shrimp, beautifully presented and curled into the most unusual, almost sculptural shapes. I've enjoyed shrimp cocktails at many fine restaurants, but I honestly cannot recall ever seeing shrimp presented quite like these! Accompanied by the restaurant's creamy house cocktail sauce, enhanced with herbs, orange zest, and a touch of spice, they made quite an impression. Our dinners also included fresh Caesar salads and bread accompanied by seasoned olive oil for dipping. For our entrées, we both selected the Shrimp & Scallops Amalfi Coast, a delicious combination of shrimp and scallops served over linguine in a delightful lemon-garlic butter sauce. The presentation was beautiful, our meals arrived piping hot, and the portions were exceptionally generous! In fact, between our wonderful assortment of appetizers and those substantial entrées, we both needed take-home containers! And isn't it lovely when a fine-dining establishment provides not only exceptional quality but portions generous enough to enjoy again the following day? SERVICE THAT DESERVES RECOGNITION Throughout the evening, we found ourselves appreciating not only the quality of the food but also the care and professionalism evident in the service and overall dining experience. We were so impressed that we made a point of personally complimenting the staff, telling them that their service and hospitality were truly top-notch. Having experienced fine dining at some of North America's most distinguished establishments, I can say that the level of gracious hospitality we encountered at Visaggio's was entirely consistent with the standards we have come to appreciate. A WORD ABOUT THE CHANGE IN OWNERSHIP I realize that changes in restaurant ownership can sometimes be accompanied by growing pains, and I certainly cannot speak to the experiences of other diners. However, I can speak to ours, and it was outstanding. Visaggio's has been a five-star dining destination for years, and based on our recent visit, I see every reason to believe that tradition can continue under its new ownership. To those who may be hesitant because of recent reviews, I would encourage you to give Visaggio's an opportunity to earn your patronage. We certainly were not disappointed! My favorite part? They boxed up our leftovers right at the table. I don't know why this feels like such a rare treat, but I adored it. We started with drinks--an Old Fashioned for Adventure Buddy (classic) and a Blueberry Lemonade cocktail for me (fancy, fruity, perfect). Then we jumped into the food. First up: Bosco Bruschetta ($14). Porcini mushrooms on toasted bread, shaved Parmigiano, balsamic drizzle...and SO MANY MUSHROOMS. Creamy, rich, and overflowing off the little toasts. Highly recommend. Like, I'd go back just for this. For dinner, I went with the Eggplant Parmigiana ($24). This was a serious dish--lightly breaded eggplant layered with marinara and mozzarella, plus a huge side of pasta. The eggplant itself was perfect, not just drowned in sauce, and came in its own bakeware dish. I ended up taking about two-thirds home, which I have zero complaints about. Adventure Buddy had the Gnocchi Sorrento ($24) and added a filet mignon. The gnocchi were like little pillows of happiness, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the filet came out exactly medium-rare. Chef knows what's up. We couldn't resist dessert--a slice of chocolate peanut butter to split. SO good, and surprisingly light. Honestly, I could have eaten the whole thing (and, mostly did). Also, shout-out for the bread and dipping oil they brought out right when we sat down. I was starving, as usual, and that little gesture made me very happy. He personally helped remake my sub and mozzarella sticks, and they turned out way better than the first time. The steak was spread all the way to each end of the bread, and there wasn't a single bite that didn't have steak or wasn't loaded with that creamy, delicious Cooper Sharp cheddar. Stellar job on the steak. Now, I'm a stickler when it comes to mozzarella sticks, and I tend to judge a restaurant based SOLELY off the sticks . No, but seriously, these came out fantastic. They were perfectly crunchy and brown on the outside, with just a little bit of that yummy burnt cheese (my preference, fight me) and savory, stretchy mozzarella on the inside. Absolutely perfect. I also have to appreciate the atmosphere when you walk in. There's a sense of love and hard work that went into the place, and you can see the effort people have put into the building. After speaking with him briefly, I could tell that he's someone who takes pride in what he does and what he stands for. Inside is a small restaurant with a counter for ordering and a handful of tables for seating if eating there. We stood at the order counter several minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. In their defense, they were busy filling orders, placing to go orders on their warming area, and continuing to cook. Finally, the "cook" looked over & said, "I apologize for the wait, we'll will be with you in a minute." The young person who finally took our order seemed a bit inexperienced, but we weren't in much of a rush. Nevertheless, there still were several slip ups in our order. My wife ordered a BLT. When they asked if she wanted it on white or wheat, she said, "white, please, toasted and no onion." What she didn't realize (my wife) was that white or wheat meant a brioche style hamburger bun not traditional sliced bread. That was not clear until we asked after being served -- and were told they don't use "regular bread". Second hiccup in this order was that while the sandwich had a wonderful abundance of bacon... I mean a load!... Somehow they not only left off the onion but also was no tomato! It ended up being a bacon, lettuce and mayo sandwich on a bun. So back to the counter to ask them for several slices of tomato. (Apology accepted.) My order was for a Philly-style cheesesteak with Cooper cheese. It came very hot, juicy, and quite yummy. In fact, it was too big for me to finish. So once again, the general generosity with fillings and toppings was top-notch. Prices were very reasonable and I would encourage you to go and try it. We continued to eat with flashlights on. No big deal - we realize the storm isn't the fault of the restaurant. It's the way the manager handled it. I wanted my daughter to be able to get back on the road safely so we asked for a box and a slice of cheesecake. We assured them we weren't leaving - just her. We were informed that the manager did not want to give us the cheesecake "because we may not be making any money tonight and he doesn't want to give away more food." Ok, cool. Then we were asked to write down our credit card numbers and told that they would "charge us and email us our bill". We said absolutely not, that we would be happy to give them our name, email, phone, etc - but I am not writing my credit card information down on a slip of paper that will just float around in the dark. Not once did the manager stop by and talk to any tables - and let me be clear, there were only 4-5 tables with people. He made everyone feel as though we were thieves and were planning to run out without paying. He put his servers in impossible positions of having to come to us with us this message instead of coming and speaking directly to the tables that were currently there. Thankfully we had cash or I genuinely think if we'd tried to leave - even though we'd offered our contact info - he would've called the cops. Terrible customer service. The curry was relatively sweet compared to other ones I've had, but it was still very flavorful, and the portion was generous. Pad Thai was one of the best I've had. Five stars for flavor, minus one star for being the highest priced pad Thai around.
