I went to cava today and had the best experience. My server name was love, I believe she has the face tattoos, I went to the bathroom and she was so patient as I came back out, the payment machine was out but she still helped me and gave me amazing guidance. Best service I've had. Love was so patient and caring. I'm definitely going to rave about her on my social media. This employee deserves a pay raise. Five stars. read more

Heard this place was great, but this place tasted way better than anything I could have thought. So much flavor!! So many fresh options.

Chris was the worker that helped me out. Great service, great guy. Couldn't have been any happier with my experience. This is the spot.

Normally good but it's gone downhill. They gave me 2 falafel for protein. Service was subpar. They didn't say thank you or have a nice day, just getting through the line is how they acted. Not worth it like it used to be. read more

Great customer Service by Elizabeth and Raymond. Quick bite to eat, gave me a lot of food!

Best cava out of all I've been to!!! Such fast working staff and nice! Best bowls! Great service and good vibes :)

Went on a super busy night and the staff was amazing and moved so fast! special shout out to chris!

Phenomenal humans in this location. We went in there to order a simple bowl for a homeless young woman and they made it for free. They were excited to help as well! read more

Great service, great food. The lobby is always clean. It's always chill inside. LOVE coming here for lunch

Get Max a raise he was very helpful. Takes his job seriously and knows how to wrap a pita.

Went here last night, decided on one of the chef-curated bowls, and got half way through and was told the meat would take a few minutes. That's okay, I didn't mind waiting. When the meat was done I was told to finish having my bowl made I had to go to the back of the line and go through again. While I was waiting in line the meat was put into my bowl that was sitting half filled on the counter so by the time I got back to where my bowl was waiting the meat was no longer fresh and was room temp at best. If a customer has to wait a few minutes on something to finish cooking they shouldn't be sent to the back of the line, especially since it had already been paid for, and in the very least the meat should have stayed in the warmer until I got through the line where my bowl was sitting. But I shouldn't have been sent to the back of the line anyway, the service could have been much more seamless: once the meat is finished cooking, the customer who has been made to wait should not be put as last priority, they could have easily finished filling the bowl in less time than it took the next person in line to order. When I finally received my food I went to my table and discovered there was several things missing that should have come with the particular bowl I had chose. Whatever this is worth, I used to work in food service- the service experienced last night was pretty inadequate and inefficient with little to no communication between the person whose shift had ended while I was waiting and the next person coming out to serve. read more

Holy Bowl! So boo was in the mood for this...I warned him about my garlic breath but he insisted he would still kiss me. First time here and the staff was super friendly. The food was so flavorful, and the portion was huge. I like all flavors and spices so I literally added everything they would let me and it was an absolute flavor explosion at every bite. Definitely recommend. I got the salad and boo got the grains. He looked like a happy camper. read more

Service by Eileen was very friendly and welcoming. As a new customer she recommended many of the items that are the reason I will return to this establishment such as the harissa honey chicken and garlic shug dressing. However, the rice was particularly dry for my liking so I can't quite give it 5 stars. Other than that, I look forward to eating those same items and trying new ones as well! read more

This location is embarrassingly bad. I've never had a pick up order be on time. They're usually around 20-45mins late and wrong half the time. I like the food but this location needs to get it together. read more

I love Cava, my go to location is mission valley. I was in the La Jolla area today and stopped here. The food is great as usual. But the service at this location was very poor. The whole crew looked like they were forced to be here and very moody with every customer while Iw as standing in line. They didn't have many products ready and people were waiting for long times. read more

The food is delicious- the people behind the counter move at a sloth like pace. Literally saw the line grow to over 20 people as I took over 5 minutes for each customer to get checked out. Make sure to take some extra time in your lunch hour to get through this "fast food" establishment. Also to note: ice maker had zero ice and 4 of the 6 fresh juice machines were empty or non functioning. Also witnessed a customer ask for ice and cashier looked stunned at the request. read more

I'm glad they opened a location in the Whole Foods square! A COVID-19 review. The first time we came to this location, they were handing out free bowls. All the staff were nice and very gracious. Their honey harissa chicken, skhug, and garlic sauce are DELICIOUS. Their greens are always fresh and never wilted. The rice is sometimes a little stiff for my liking, but otherwise not bad. We've ordered through their app for contactless pickup a few times. The food is delicious; it's just that there are always a few hiccups here and there (toppings completely missed in an order, drink not included until reminded, hair in one of the souffle cups they use for sauces, incorrect sauce given out) but it's not a big deal, considering they probably have to read through that long torturous list of individual modifications on the ticket & it's not exactly the most readable. Other than that, this place is great! Clean, healthy food and nice staff. read more

if cava has 1,000 fans, i am one of them. if cava has 100 fans, i am one of them. if cava has 1 fan, it is me. i can seriously have cava every single day & not get tired of it. i'm surprised i don't live there at this point. people joke around that cava is the chipotle of mediterranean food, but chipotle is actually just the cava of mexican food. i stand by that. if you are looking for a fire order, try a bowl with arugula, lentils, plain hummus, grilled chicken & grilled meatballs, tomato & cucumber, avocado, and lemon herb tahini. i promise it will not disappoint. read more

Just came down for community day and was very delighted with my experience. I'm a frequent visitor to CAVA in Del Mar and Orange County locations when on trips! I am so happy that this one has opened and that one will be opening in south San Diego soon! The food here is always top notch and freshly prepared. All of the workers were super energized and polite and very passionate about their work. There manager Ashley was doing a superb job with cleaning and greeting everyone and making sure all needs were met. Huge shoutout to the team at CAVA!! Not to mention they were able to maintain social distancing and still hold this great event ! I will be coming back very soon. Lastly, this CAVA is also hosting a fundraiser for the NAACP of North San Diego which is just another star for improving our society and helping a great cause ! read more

2020 sucks, there is no debate about that. But in these tumultuous times I find that its the little things that really lighten up my day. Case and point: Simba. I stopped by after a long day of running errands as I desperately needed some grub asap. Having been to Cava only once before I was a tad lost with the options however Simba proved to be an excellent guide. He whipped me up a delicious bowl while simultaneously offering up some refreshing conversation. During this conversation we got onto the topic of work and he articulated that every day he is at Cava is an excellent day for him cause he loves his job and just loves to work. This exact personality trait is something I always choose to reward when it comes to promotions or other rewards (I've managed a handful of different businesses in a variety of sectors). This attitude is contagious and will permeate all the way through any organization, making it a prudent decision to recognize any individual embodying this philosophy. Loved the food, loved the customer service, and I love hearing about a business treating their employees well. Simba thanks again for the kind words. One love homie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXVgmTCJ2lA read more

Mary was very kind and we had a nice conversation about finals week (I'm a grad student) as she was helping me with my bowl. Jordan (the manager) seemed to have a tight ship running and I was grateful the chicken was restocked quickly! Awesome location! read more

Place is always understaffed. It takes them 20 mins to prepare bowl even on the slowest hour. Half of the staff is untrained to the extent that it seems they're being paid to be as slow as possible. To make things worse, they run out of 30% of ingredients by 7 PM so good luck getting falafel, sweet potatoes or garlic sauce in the evening. Save yourself some time and go to Michelin's Pita house or Kebab shop which are much better. read more

Very good food, fresh, light, and healthy. These Cava chains are popping up all around San Diego and for good reason. Had the salad bowl with braised lamb and it was delicious. Happy to have this new option near our house. read more

I never leave 1 star reviews but this place had AWFUL service. What a shame because the food is pretty decent and healthy. I waited 30 minutes in line for my bowl to be made from 8:45-9:15 pm, so not even rush hour. Only after they started making my bowl did they tell me they were out of all but three sauces, and the tzatziki. The girl there with the red hair was extremely rude and unapologetic for the wait time. When I asked her what other dips they had besides tzatziki, she didn't answer and just moved my bowl to the next station. I won't be coming back. read more

They were refusing to make any takeout bowls as they were prioritizing their remaining bowls for online orders only. Paying customers in line only had a done in option. We had the option of ordering online and being out in the queue in hopes that there would be a takeout bowl still left. Are you fu$&ing kidding me? The staff here is inept and grossly undertrained. read more

FABULOUS u all must give these burgers a try even if you're not vegan they are delicious and filling and made so fresh Their version of thick shakes are also to die for so flavorful and filling U would think all these meals have meat etc because of the flavor So good so healthy And gluten free for all those that have this as a good issue So happy to cater for your needs Highly highly recommend Only down fall for me personally We love eating out Sundays and they aren't open read more
